The fact that there are millions of people are a guarantee of mass murder.

We have had bombings using fertilizer. We have had mass murders using vehicles. And we have with guns as well.

The issue is whether we deprived a person of a means of protection against animal attacks , of hunting, self-defense, etc, and if we end our current methods of wildlife management all to try and remove one method evil people use to kill others.

The simple answer is to ask if the UK should ban knives. Some may say "yes", but others may object.

    Can you provide a link?

    1) Firearms are owned not just for protection - but many Christians also
go hunting - of which they eat.

    2) Out West -esp - its a good thing to have a sidearm -due to rattle snakes,
    and other such animals.

BTW several mass shootings have been reduced because a law abiding citizen
did have a firearm handy, including at churches!

It was horrible when the Nazis engaged on the bombing blitz in 1940-41 - but what would have
happened if the Germans had landed in the UK- how would the British have defended themselves?

While we are at it - what Biblical reference - prohibits a Christian from owning
    a firearm.

I don't think he would need one
    So if you think that we should not have a firearm because Jesus would not;
then I suppose we should never get married either!

And finally - why did this burglar become a folk hero

If you want to know what COTUS means, look at what the authors and ratifies did. Individual gun ownership was guaranteed

Sure. He gives us a gun so when we jog around bears we can defend ourselves. :Biggrin

Seriously, though, divine protection does not excuse us from personal responsibility.

He absolutely is able to protect us, and sometimes it's by providing us with tools to do so - strong dwellings to protect us from storms, technology to protect us from lightning, epi-pens so allergic people don't die from bee stings, and many more ways.

    Let me relate a story:

There was a weather forcast of a severe weather which would include severe flooding.
Well - it happened - the floods came - and water was about 1/2 meter deep - no way could they drive their car to safety
So the Army National Guard came with a 2 1/2 ton Truck - but Pa said "No thank you, God will save us"
The next day - the water line was near the second floor window - so the Coast Guard sent a boat - -
but Pa said "No thank you, God will save us"
The third day - the water kept rising - and now Pa and the family were on the roof of the house,
so the Air National Guard sent a helicopter to save the family
    - but Pa said "No thank you, God will save us"
That night the whole family died in the flood

Upon arriving in Heaven, St Peter met them at the gate
Immediately Pa stated that they had been praying for 3 day for the Lord to save them
Pa demanded to know why God did not answer their prayer.

St Peter responded: We sent a truck, a boat, and a helicopter! what what else should we have done!

I see not carrying protection against animal attacks when in an area where such attacks are a probability as tempting God.

    But I understand your argument.

Let's look at this argument in principle.

If we wear a seat belt, a life jacket, a helmet, a car seat for a child, etc. then this demonstrates a lack of faith in God to protect us.

Now read the full account for this

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”
    Daniel 3:16-18

Was God able to deliver them or not?

Tell you what --- I will answer your question - just as soon when you answer my question --- (which you quoted)
as to why God did NOT save Pa and his family
