Sanctification preceding regeneration . . . .
Prove the following is not taught in the word of God.
False. If that were so, regeneration becomes a throwaway hope. Then in Hebrews 10:29 would mean having been regenerated and then sanctified, ". . . Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? . . .""The foundation of "sanctification" is laid in "regeneration"; as it is a holy principle, sanctification is first formed in regeneration;

What scripture do you have where God says he makes the godless holy before they are ever saved?Prove the following is not taught in the word of God.
Your false assertion. What scripture do you have where God says he makes the godless holy before they are ever saved?

Is Hebrews 10:29 your proof text for saying God makes the ungodly more holy before he ever saves them? Do you understand that your verse is used to promote infant baptism into the New Covenant? Notice that the preacher is calling his audience "brothers" as Israel understood itself to be a Covenant people, but not necessarily a saved people. Are you arguing that people are in the Covenant by virtue of infant baptism?Your false assertion.
Again you persist in you false assertions. Is Hebrews 10:29 your proof text for saying God makes the ungodly more holy before he ever saves them?
Is Hebrews 10:29 your proof text or do you even have any scripture?Again you persist in you false assertions.
The text explicitly says ". . . he was sanctified, . . ." So the problem might be your not believing it. So how do you understand he was sanctified? Is Hebrews 10:29 your proof text or do you even have any scripture?
Got a Scripture?New When someone says "sanctification precedes regeneration" it means "holiness precedes salvation."
Your false assertion. So the assertion of the OP is that humans are made holy before they are saved.
I don't need one. We are looking at what sanctification means and what regeneration means. These are terms.Got a Scripture?
Your false assertion.
Set apart for salvation or set apart for the covenant? The text explicitly says ". . . he was sanctified, . . ." So the problem might be your not believing it. So how do you understand he was sanctified?
Are the people Jesus is praying for already regenerated at this point or not?Jesus in His prayer in John 17:17, ". . . Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. . . ." Meaning the hearing of God's word sanctifies.
Your unbelief. It would seem you do not believe God's word sanctifies, John 17:17. Ephesians 1:13, ". . . heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: . . ."I don't need one. We are looking at what sanctification means and what regeneration means. These are terms.
You say that holiness precedes salvation, but you do not provide and scripture.
What does sanctify mean?Your unbelief. It would seem you do not believe God's word sanctifies, John 17:17. Ephesians 1:13, ". . . heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: . . ."
Jesus before that had promised, John 14:16-17, ". . . And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. . . ."Are the people Jesus is praying for already regenerated at this point or not?
Are you now claiming another passage out of context as your reasoning for imagining God makes people holy before He saves them?Jesus before that had promised, John 14:16-17, ". . . And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. . . ."
