Van you can keep repeating "Some modern theologians argue that God's omniscience is inherent rather than total" until the cows come home it will not change what Omniscient means.

Does it matter what some theologians" think and say. I trust what the bible shows us, God is Omniscient. He knows all things, not some things. You are following man rather than the bible.

You are attempting to make God less than God by your He forgets, He did not know. You worship your man-made semi God and I will worship the Omniscient God of the bible.

FYI it is not a effort to change the subject Van, I am just telling you that you are wrong. Is that clear enough for you.

You have not addressed the truth of scripture as cited, but simply claimed your definition is the only one that can be used. Sandbox mentality

Does this poster deny that God remembers no more forever?
Does this poster deny that God learned from Abraham's willingness to slay his son?
Does this poster deny that Jesus did not know the time of His return?

Who knows because this poster uses false argumentation, against the man argumentation, rather than the topic.

And your saying that whatever definition you want to give to a word is fine. So by your view how are we to know what any word means since the definition is fluid?

Does God have the power, being all powerful, to choose not to know everything imaginable, such as our forgiven sins? Basically the unbiblical definition of Omniscience denies God is Omnipotent, whereas God being able to know everything He chooses to know is consistent with Omnipotence.

Here is a verse teaching that knowing all things is constrained by the context.

    John 18:4 (NASB)
Jesus therefore, knowing all the things that were coming upon Him, came out into the open and *said to them, “Whom are you seeking?”

Here is another verse teaching the same contextual truth:

    John 19:28 (NASB)
After this, Jesus, knowing that all things had already been accomplished, in order that the Scripture would be fulfilled, *said, “I am thirsty.”

Inherent omniscience is the only doctrine that fits with all scripture.

Your just unset that I do not accept your definition of the word.

    omniscient /ŏm-nĭsh′ənt/
    adjective
    1. Having total knowledge; knowing everything.
      "an omniscient deity;"
    2. Having universal knowledge; knowing all things; infinitely knowing or wise.
You can complain all you want Van but you can not change the meaning of a word to suit your whim.

And in case you do not know what "whim" means
    whim /wĭm, hwĭm/
    noun
    1. A sudden or capricious idea; a fancy.
    2. Arbitrary thought or impulse.
Glad to help you out with the meaning of words.

Note the erroneous claim I changed the meaning. Denial that many others use "Inherent Omniscience" as the definition of the actual biblically based attribute of God.

Pay no attention to those who deny the very words of God such as "Now I know" or "remember no more forever."
