Supposedly a reunion is in works. Toby Mac, Newsboys, and D.C. Talk. That would be a good concert.

Ya musta felt like you were in a rubber room. :Geek. But I’m old and much to life is irritating me. Did you know Chicago’s song 25 or 624 is a drug song? Seems the lyrics are about making a choice between quaylude and speed.. and I liked that song too.

Funny fact - the Chicago song isn't about drugs.

Lamm explained the song, and wondered why people have thought it had to do with drugs. He wrote the lyrics very literally (working on the composition, 25 or 6 to 4 being the time the song takes place).

Searching for the break of day
    Searching for something to say
    Dancing lights against the sky
Giving up, I close my eyes
    Sitting cross-legged on the floor
    25 or six to four

    Staring blindly into space
Getting up to splash my face
    Wanting just to stay awake
Wondering how much I can take
Should have tried to do some more
    25 or six to four

Feeling like I ought to sleep
    Spinning room is sinking deep
    Searching for something to say
Waiting for the break of day
    25 or six to four
    25 or six to four

Anyway, I found that funny...and educational (until that interview I had no idea what the song was about).

You look at the tabs numbers on the quayludes and the speed. But I’m a child of the 70s.Bingo! What suprises me is there is no mention of any LSD cause the speed would extend the creative flow and keep him awake.

I'm unaware of any tab numbers of "25", "6", or "4". I have heard that "6 to 4" means LSD....but I am unaware of it actually being so (I know "window pane" refers to LSD and qualudes are "disco biscuits"..... but mostly because I am a Deadhead who likes 70's music).

I do not see a readon to doubt what the songwriter said the song means, especially since there isn't a readon for him to lie about it

Kinda like the "Doobie Brothers" who admit they used marijuana but had no idea a "doobie" was a joint. A friend suggested the name and they just used it for a gig....and it stuck.

Every religious ceremony performed by the idolater RCC such as eucharist, it is a disguised imitation, a sorcerie, it is a celebration made by the spirit of the Devil. It has nothing to do with the Spirit of GOD the Father, nor of Jesus, nor of the Holy Spirit, but has to do with the spirit of Devil, the father of lie.

The eucharist celebrated by demons is a source of disease, serious illness, death, and all sorts of misfortunes that happen in people's lives around the Earth. Eucharist made by the Roman Catholic Church is a witchcraft, a sorcery, a celebration of idolaters and a cult of demons. Babylon the Great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
Actually all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

Well, according to the Word of GOD, the Word is GOD, GOD Himself, self-executing, they will be cast into the hell's fire and will be burned with everlasting fire, the hell's fire-Revelation 19:20-21.

I once visited a church that made me feel like I was at a rock concert. The band was rocking so hard and so loud that I was waiting for Ted Nugent to come swining down from the rafters and start singing. It was over the top for me at church.

I do not like to state or imply that another person or group of persons who have identified themselves as Christian are not Christians. So I go by the following rules.

    1. Worship - If I like the worship I will compliment those on the team. Or I will leave without saying anything
    2. Word - If I like the sermon I will go out of my way to compliment the preacher. Or I will leave without saying anything

I left that particular service without saying a word!

Our Lord JESUS Christ made it so clear, saying: Luke 17:20-21:
20 And when JESUS was demanded of the Pharisees, when the Kingdom of GOD should come, He answered them and said, The Kingdom of GOD cometh not with observation:
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the Kingdom of GOD is within you.

Yes, we must confirm what our Lord JESUS said, i.e. the Kingdom of GOD comes not with observation, behold, the Kingdom of GOD is wthin us (and among us, of course). Ephesians 1:3-4 say: 3 Blessed be the GOD and Father of our Lord JESUS Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4 According as he hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.

The question is: From whence then hath it tares? Ah an Enemy did this, but as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the END of this world. (END of this world? 1Corinthians 15:24-26 combined with Revelation 11:15-18).

That said, once the Kingdom of GOD is within us and among us, by the Word of GOD (the Word is GOD, GOD Himself, self-executing) I must say the people or groups that work among us with apostate and diabolical baggage as Rock Concerts and all kind of shows, besides false doctrines, doctrines of demons, now, even now, from now on, imitations of hymns or satanic songs that they play inside the churches with lyrics of demons, music of demons, and rhythms of demons, they and those who allow this satanic operation in the churches, will be thrown into the lake of fire from now on, they will be severely punished according to the GOD wills the type of punishment to be applied, and they will perish in the fires of hell, as JESUS said: Matthew 10:28- Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. The Word is GOD, GOD Himself, self-executing, understand?

Funny fact.....the music you have provided was once considered demonic.

"When I Survey the Wonderous Cross" was found objectionable as well. It was considered evil and dangerous because it was centered on man and set to secular music.

I would indeed fear God, fear Him that can destroy the soul. And in so doing I would fear condemning how other Chriatians worship. He will make them stand.

So when I see men and women condemning the music others use to worship God I can't help but see an utter lack of fear of God in their hearts. And it is frightening.

What does the Word of GOD say?1 Corinthians 10:21-23 & 32-33.
21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of demons.

22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?

23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not-->(or but all things are not convenient).

32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:

33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

    2Corinthians 10:3-4and17-18
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through GOD to the pulling down of strong holds.
17 He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
18 For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.

    2Timothy 2:15-19
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto GOD, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.

16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. (wickedness)

    17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

18 Who concerning the truth have erred...and overthrow the faith of some.

19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

    2 Timothy 3:1-5
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

    4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

The Word is GOD, GOD Himself, self-executing.

    I agree with the passage.

BUT the passage is not condemning worshipping God in the musical style of a culture. This is most closely covered in worshipping in "spirit and truth", not false piety.

I do not believe that Scrioture condemns music like "When I Survey the Wonderous Cross", although it was contemporary and controversial at the time it was introduced.

I do not believe Scripture condemned our traditional hymns centuries ago when those hymns were contemporary, although many objected to their use in churches.

Therefore it would be hyprocracy for me to condemn worship music today apart from false teachings in the lyrics.

Men like to place themselves in the position of God, condemning and justifying based on their own preferences.

The passages you post are important, but they are not relevant to the OP. These songs being condemned are often Scripture set to music. They are sometimes older hymns set to new music.

And they are often Biblical truths set to music that does not "sound" sacred to our ears (those my age and older).

It is impossible to worship in truth when elevating antiquated secular music styles as "sacred" while condemning music tgat comes from the heart of other believers.

30 The times of ignorance, GOD overlooked; but now he commandeth men that they should all everywhere repent:
31 inasmuch as he hath appointed a Day(the Lord's Day) in which He will Judge the world in righteousness by the man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

    Ephesians 2:4-7ASV
    4 but GOD, being rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, 5 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace have ye been saved), 6 and RAISED US UP with Him, and made us to sit with Him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus(Ephesians 1:3-8, take a look): 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus: 8 for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of GOD;

That said, know ye that the saints shall Judge the world, and if the world is Judged by us, are we unworthy to Judge the smallest matters? 3 Know ye not that we shall Judge angels? how much more, things that pertain to this life? 1Corinthians 6:2-3-->Daniel 7:22&26-27: --> 22 Judgment is given to the saints of the Most High, the time came that the saints possessed the Kingdom ->(Revelation
    11:15-18).
26 The Judgment shall be set, and we shall take away His dominion (take away the dominion of the Devil-Revelation 11:15-18- , to consume and to destroy it unto the END.
27 And the Kingdom and the dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the WHOLE HEAVEN, shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High:-Revelation 11:15-18- His Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

Now, in the seventh and last Day, the Lord's Day, even now, from now on, there will be only and only severe and fierce punishments against the whole world of the Devil, tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that worketh evil; and unto them that are turbulent, and obey not the Truth, but obey unrighteousness, shall be wrath and indignation. The Lord's Day is the time of punishments, only nd only punishments, time of extreme sorrows,

    John 3:35-36:
35 The Father loveth JESUS, and hath given all things into His hand. 36 He that believeth in JESUS hath eternal life; but he that obeyeth not JESUS shall not see life, but the WRATH OF GOD abideth on him.

The Word is GOD, GOD Himself, self-executing, understand?

    Isaiah 33:10-14
10 Now will I arise, saith the Lord; now will I lift up myself; now will I be exalted.
11 Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath is a fire that shall devour you.
12 And the peoples shall be as the burnings of lime, as thorns cut down, that are burned in the fire.
13 Hear, ye that are far off(the Gentiles), what I have done; and, ye that are near(the Jews), acknowledge my might. 14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling hath seized the godless ones: Who among us can dwell with the devouring fire? -GOD IS A DEVOURING FIRE - who among us can dwell with everlasting burnings?

    Isaiah 26:20-21
20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
21 For, behold, the Lord cometh forth out of His place to PUNISH the inhabitants of the Earth for their iniquity: the Earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

As JESUS said: Matthew 10:28- Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

The Word is GOD, GOD Himself, self-executing, understand?

Be careful or else get ready
