Peter preached repentance as a gift given by Christ, not a condition

There you go denying the word of God again BF. You have the problem of thinking that the word of God is to be pulled apart to find single verses that you think support your view.

The cults do just as you continue to do. Would you say they are telling the truth?

Context BF context. What is the whole council of God.

But you wrote that in answer to my post in which I specifically said that I don't think I'm special, and that as God's choice was made "before the foundation of the world," long before I was born, it could give me not the slightest reason for boasting. It's all of Christ.

As I said David the boast is that you think you were chosen B4 creation.

That is not a biblical view but it is what we see coming from the C/R's.

Look at your religion. It tells you that you were special, that you were picked over all those others that He rejected.

You may not think you are boasting but every time you say or think that then you are boasting.

I did not add "to be" to the text. Here is what I wrote:

"But the verse in question says:

“just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,” (Eph 1:4 NKJV)

How can "chose us" mean "chose the means of salvation?""

The words "to be" are just not there.

Matthew Poole in his commentary on Ephesians 1:4 says:

"In him; either:

1. By and through Christ, (as in the former verse), for his sake, and upon the account of his merit as the procuring cause, not of our election, but sanctification; q.d. God hath chosen us, that we should be made holy and unblamable by Christ. Or rather:

2. In Christ, as the foundation on which he would build us, (his spiritual house), and by which both we might be united to God, and he communicate his influence and grace to us; or as our Head, by which he might convey grace, and strength, and life to us as Christ’s members."

Its very difficult to think you are special when God chose you in Christ b4 the foundation, b4 anyone had being, b4 you were given knowledge of your salvation, and the choice was one of grace Election of Grace Rom 11:5-6

5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

So our election was unmerited/undeserved because we were ungodly. Rom 5:6

6 For when we[the elect] were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

Actually what you just posted proves the C/R view of chosen in Christ B4 creation is false.

You denying that I have presented to you scripture ?

Did not say you did not post scripture BF. It is what you think the word of God is supporting that I disagree with.

You pull the word of God apart in your attempt to support your CC/R view.

The word of God is truth the way you misuse the word of God is not.

You pull the word of God apart in your attempt to support your CC/R view.

The word of God is truth the way you misuse the word of God is not.
So you are denying scripture, like this one Acts 5:31

31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

Acts 5:31 (KJB)Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. (Mark 14:62-63 KJV) And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. {63} Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses? Jesus witnessed before the High Priest that they would see the Son of Man at the right hand of power and this they would have remembered because it was these words upon which the High Priest rent his clothes. In Scripture, the right hand is representative of the power of God, this is seen in both the Old and New Testaments. (Psa 20:6 KJV) Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. Jesus was also called the Prince of Peace. (Isa 9:6 KJV) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. The leaders of Israel would have been familiar with that passage. (Isa 43:11 KJV) I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. (Luke 2:11 KJV) For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. In Isaiah 43:11, the Lord is called the Saviour and in Luke 2:11, the Saviour which came into the world was the Lord Jesus Christ. So they would have also been familiar with the Isaiah passage and tied in with the Luke passage, Christ was the only one who could have fulfilled both passages. Christ being the Saviour had come to give repentance and forgiveness to those Elect in Israel who were to be saved. (2 Tim 2:25 KJV) In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; God is the one who grants repentance which is a synonym for salvation. This verse is not stating that the Lord Jesus Christ is limiting salvation to the physical nation of Israel because with His sacrifice complete and the gospel now going to the world, the name “Israel” has now been widened to describe all those who are saved. The name “Israel” means “Prince with God.” Those who are saved in Christ are called “Princes” or “Princesses” because we are children of the King. Those who are unsaved are not real Israel because they are children of the Devil. (Phil 3:3 KJV) For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. (Rom 2:28-29 KJV) For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: {29} But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. (Gal 6:15-16 KJV) For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. {16} And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. The Bible calls the true believers, the born again Christians, the Israel of God, the true circumcision, and true Israel.

Here is what Peter preached about repentance Acts 5:31

31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

This the context BF.

Act 5:27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them,
Act 5:28 saying, "Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man's blood on us!"
Act 5:29 But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: "We ought to obey God rather than men.
Act 5:30 "The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree.
Act 5:31 "Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.
Act 5:32 "And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him."
Act 5:33 When they heard this, they were furious and plotted to kill them.

Peter was telling the Jews leaders that even the Jews could be saved, granted repentance, if they trusted in Christ Jesus the one their had crucified.

Act 5:31 God exalted Him to His right hand as Prince and Savior, in order to grant repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.

The elect were by nature without strength and ungodly.

It says all BF. Are you so indoctrinated with the C/R dogma that you cannot even understand the clear word of God?

Just as all can be saved through faith in Him.
Isa 45:22 Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.

Isa 53:6 We all like sheep have gone astray, each one has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid upon Him the iniquity of us all.

1Jn 2:2 He Himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

Joh 3:17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.

Rom 5:10 For if, when we were enemies of God, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life!

These are just a few of the verses that you have to ignore or twist BF so that you can hold to your false religion.

But you still do not accept the truths contained there in. You continue to inject your religion into the text.

Context BF context. As long as you ignore the context and just pull verses out that you think support your religion you will be mislead.

You have been shown the truth and you still reject it.

Who was Peter speaking to BF?

It is not that we will be called the Israel of God BF the context is that the Jew's leaders were being told the truth that they had crucified the Son of God, their Messiah.

That salvation was even available to them through Him.

What you just posted is a good example of why those of the C/R view are so confused. You pull wild theories from the air and stitch them together in the attempt to support your failed philosophy.
