Jesus as the Surety of the New Covenant, shed His Blood for many, giving them remission of sins or forgiveness of sins by that means,

Matt 26:28

28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

The word here remission is the greek word aphesis:

deliverance, forgiveness, liberty, remission.
From aphiemi; freedom; (figuratively) pardon -- deliverance, forgiveness, liberty, remission.

HELPS Word-studies
Cognate: 859 áphesis (from 863 /aphíēmi, "send away, forgive" ) – properly, "something sent away"; i.e. remission ("forgiveness"), releasing someone from obligation or debt

1. release, as from bondage, imprisonment, etc.: Luke 4:18 (19) (Isaiah 61:1f; Polybius 1, 79, 12, etc.).

2. ἄφεσις ἁμαρτιῶν forgiveness, pardon, of sins (properly, the letting them go, as if they had not been committed (see at length Trench, § xxxiii.)), remission of their penalty: Matthew 26:28; Mark 1:4; Luke 1:77;

Their penalty of sin for them has been sent away

Now Lk 1:77 says this remission is Salvation

77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,

Salvation here is in having had their sins remitted, forgiven by the blood of Christ. All who its true of, shall be given the Knowledge of it.

When Peter preached at Pentecost in Acts 2, and told the people they had crucified the Christ, they were convicted/pricked to the heart, and said, "what shall we do"?

What did Peter tell them to do, BF?

When the jailer came trembling before Paul and Silas asking, "what must I do to be saved," what did they tell him to do?

What was it that Christ said we must do, or we will perish?

All of the above is the condition that must be met to be saved.

It's not works, BF, to repent and believe the Gospel to be saved.

Nothing could be clearer than this! Thanks for posting truth in the midst of darkness!

Remission of sins is Justification !

Remission of sins is an aspect of Justification, and can even be called Justification, as it pertains to being justified from all the legal consequences of our sins, for this is what Paul means by it here Acts 13:39

And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Some Translations have the right Ideal here:

39 And that through Him everyone who believes [who acknowledges Jesus as his Savior and devotes himself to Him] is absolved (cleared and freed) from every charge from which he could not be justified and freed by the Law of Moses and given right standing with God.AMP

and in Him every believer is absolved from all offences, from which you could not be absolved under the Law of Moses.WNT

To absolve means:

to free from guilt or blame or their consequences: The court absolved her of guilt in his death.
2.
to set free or release, as from some duty, obligation, or responsibility (usually followed by from ): to be absolved from one's oath.
3.
to grant pardon for.
4.
Ecclesiastical .
a.
to grant or pronounce remission of sins to.
b.
to remit (a sin) by absolution.
c.
to declare (censure, as excommunication) removed.

Being Justified from all things as Per Acts 13:39 means being Justified from all the consequences of ones sins, and it means things the law of Moses in it's Leviticus priesthood with its animal sacrifices could not do ! See Heb Chp 7-10 ; And this Justification of remission of sins is solely accomplished on the death/ blood of Christ Matt 26:28

28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Heb 9:22

22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Eph 1:7

7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Now that Justification here in Acts 13:39 pertains to the forgiveness of sins is seen from what is said in Vs 38

38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:

Forgiveness of sins is the negative side of Justification, but does have a positive effect, it gives the forgiven reconciliation to God even while they are enemies Rom 5:10

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Reconciliation is because of forgiveness, which is Justification ! This Truth also confirms Justification before Faith !

So you believe you were saved before you were born, and you're teaching this to others!

My goodness, BF, what a sad commentary on your part.
Yes the ones Jesus shed His blood for, for the remission of sins, yes their sins were remitted b4 they were born since Christ died for their sins b4 they were born Duh

That's not what Calvin taught. He taught that the elect were chosen before they were born, and were drawn in through irresistible grace during their life. He taught grace through faith alone for salvation.

I don't know what you're teaching, this is a Calvin twist to Calvinism.

When Jesus shed His Blood, it gave remission of sins for many

When Jesus shed His Blood, it gave remission of sins for any.

Mark 7:16
If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

Luke 9:23
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

John 6:51
I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

John 7:37
-- In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

John 10:9
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

Acts 10:28
And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Hebrews 4:1
Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

1 John 2:1-2
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

This just means that we are sinners given salvation. It means we don’t/can’t clean up to come to God. It is that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. We are still sinners. But we are reconciled sinners. The whole of salvation will come to us in resurrection through His life.
This does passage does not show justification before faith unless you believe it to teach sinless perfection.

We are reconciled sinners after and at salvation. We will be fully saved and fully redeemed by His life when this flesh is put off.

We do not need a lexicon to tell us what remission is....

Anyway, to be saved is to trust the blood stained gospel soley and be eternally saved.

Fruits, confessing, changed life won't affect salvation.

Are you communicating with me or calvin ? Christs Death/Blood shed resulted in remission of sins Matt 26:28 and His Death was according to the New Covenant.

His death resulted in remission of sins according the Scripture, not your imagination of what you think it says!

We must repent in this life or there is no salvation.

Forgiveness/remission of sins is Salvation,, however we dont have knowledge of it until the time when God sends a message to the ones who have it in and by the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thats its Salvation is seen here Lk 1:77

To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,

Now notice that remission of sins/salvation existed b4 the His People are given Knowledge of it. And this also speaks to particular atonement, its for His People, whom Jesus specifically came to save Matt 1:21

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

And so whoever He died for, sooner or later God sends a preacher to them, to preach to them the forgiveness of sins.

Acts 13:38

Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:

Still denying 1 John 2:2, I see! When you accept the fact that Christ was the satisfaction for the sins of the whole world, then you will begin to understand how redemption actually works.

But until then you will be in the state of confusion!
