What relative to sin is being finished.
for what the law was not able to do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, His own Son having sent in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, did
condemn the sin in the flesh, Romans 8:3
How did God go about doing this?
Isa 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and
the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Matt 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say,
My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
What did the sin, when it is finished, bring forth?
James 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and [the yet] sin,
when it is finished [ From
ἀπό (G575) and
τελέω (G5055)],
bringeth forth death.
John 19:28-30 YLT After this, Jesus knowing that all things
now have been finished, [
g5055] that the Writing may be fulfilled, saith, 'I thirst;' a vessel, therefore, was placed full of vinegar, and they having filled a sponge with vinegar, and having put
it around a hyssop stalk, did put
it to his mouth; when, therefore, Jesus received the vinegar, he said, '
It hath been finished; [g5055]' and having bowed the head,
gave up the spirit.
Gave up the spirit, DIED for our sins.
That is when Jesus died for our sins IMHO.
Those other scriptures in post 121 state the same. When our sins were laid on him he became dead in trespass and sin and he died a few moments/minutes later by obedience of faith. Dying thou dost die. Just what God told Adam. IMHO
