You misunderstood.

I am saying that the picture IS blasphemous. In fact, I posted that several times. As I look more carefully at it more problems with it comes up.

I did not see the lady to the left praying at first. Initially I did not recognize what Trump was wearing as an ancient Jewish robe (at first glance it looked to me as an old fashioned night shirt). What I saw as wrong was more supernaturally the image of healing the sick.

But that was at first glance. AND at forst glance I saw it as blasphemous. I took your suggestion and looked closer and AGREED it is even more blasphemous.

You are ignoring what I posted.

I NEVER SAID THE IMAGE WAS ANYTHING BUT BLASPHEMOUS.

What I said was about Trump's perception between the time he viewed the image and posted it.

Unlike you, I do not know if Trump studied the image or merely glanced at it before he posted it.

Unlike you, I do not know how Trump perceived the picture.

Unlike you, I do not know how carefully Trump considered the elements of the image.

Unlike you, I do not know if Trump was dealing with other issues when he came across the image and merely posted it or if he had it designed.

I am not sure, however, that the absolute certainty you have about your divine ability to know the mind of Trump is any less blasphemous than the image. Both serm pretty anti-Christian to me.

One does not have to be omniscient to see where President Trump is coming from. He has made many posts that show his narcissistic mindset.

I do need to warn you (and your supporters on this post).

I said several times (in EVERY post I made on this thread) that I believe the image is blasphemous.

You engaged in dishonesty with the quoted remark. That is just as anti-Christian as is the image.

We were not arguing about the image. I did say that I did not recognize some elements, and even now I do not know if it is supposed to be a collage or single image. That is not ignoring the image. I view the image as blasphemous, and stated so.

My statement is that being less than God I am not omniscient. I have no idea how Trump took the image, if he glanced at it or studied it, what was going through his mind, etc.

You seem to believe you have been gifted the power to know the intention and thoughts of Trump.

I cannot absolutely claim that you lack that power, but I do. I can only go by facts.

Warn me of what Jon?

I have pointed out that you seem to have missed or ignored things in the image.

Are we not allowed to point out what we see as errors in someones posts?

Trump has made a great effort to show himself as the great leader and savior of the world. It seems he has failed at both.

I agree that Trump is a narcissist.

But to know Trump's mind, what he thought when he posted that image, one has to have divine attributes.

No. At best that is an attempt at humor that is idiotic and it bombed. At worst it indicates a extreme foolishness and lack of wisdom. A Messianic Complex is when leaders let in huge amounts of immigrants, enough to completely change the cultures of the countries they preside over, support all their needs perpetually off the backs of the local working population and then clamp down on anyone who dares question the wisdom of the "anointed ones". You know, like the one's who meet at Davos, or the leaders of Canada and England.

Well I do not know about Trump or Starmer but Carney can walk on water. Only in the winter but he has done it.:D

Warn you to be more accurate when dealing with other people's posts.

It is different to say "I disagree with your evaluation of the image", or "you may have missed the woman praying" and saying it was ignored.

Looking back at the image I still view the woman as praying (not to God). The reason is it seems to be a collage. I cannot see the images as linked (the soldiers floating up, the other woman, etc).

What I see as blasphemy is presenting Trump to have divine powers akin to Christ. But I kinda see the same in your posts.

Although we may not know the mind of Trump regarding the post, neither option is acceptable. Either he knowingly depicted himself as Jesus, or he demonstrated very poor judgment and made a decision without thinking through the results. Not that Donald would ever do that.

Dave,
You will get no argument from me that the current British government is disastrous. I didn't vote for it and I can't wait for the next General Election to get it out.
But Keir Starmer is not (thank God!) the de facto leader of the free world. Nor is he crazy SFAIK; merely incompetent.

I was just messing with you. I do value your input on these threads. I don't have any answers for this kind of stuff. I've been getting the free articles from subscribing to "Evangelical Times", which I think you might have put me on to. Today they discussed Trump's latest silliness and their article went into the pitfalls of "cultural Christianity". It's a good article but the question I always have is, what do they want us to do when they bring these things up. Our elections give us a choice of 2 candidates who have any chance of winning, one was a buffoon and embarrassing but who on a list of substantive issues has taken sound positions and been more effective in producing results we Christians have been fighting for than anyone else in years. The other candidate was arguably as buffoonish, more in the way of silly word salads exhibiting a pseudointellectualism, and on every position was perverted, pagan, and immoral, with an obvious dislike for the native population, who they want to replace. Is a cultural Christian worse than a pagan? What would Evangelical Times have us do?

I can't speak for E.T. but the article quoted Psalm 146:3. 'Put not your trust in princes....' Nebuchadnezzar found out the hard way that 'The Most High rules in the kingdom of men,' and I guess we have to realise that. I certainly believe that God has not been blessing Britain for some time now. Everything that politicians have tried to do has turnd to dust in their hands, not always due to their own errors. The country has to turn back to God, rending its heart and not its garments. The jury is out on whether this is happening at the moment. There seem to be some signs of revival, but certainly not in high places.

Nebuchadnezzar?
Well, way back in 2019 Joshua Harris rebuked Trump for being the USA's King Ahab:

I agree. That is my point.

The image was blasphemous. Trump should not have posted it. We are all responsible for what we post.

If he posted it in ignorance then he should have removed it once he was made aware.

Based on Trumps no-filter/ not much thought when using social media I generally think "ignorant".

But I do not know his thoughts (none of us do).

Trump does it again. Another poor choice. He reposted an image by Irish for Trump and he calls it nice.

If Biden, Obama, or Kamala posted an image of Jesus standing close to them, conservatives and evangelicals would condemn it.

@Silverhair

Our disagreement reminds me of the Mike Jenkings incident in Ohio.

Michelle Bishop was jogging with her two children when she noticed a car following her. The car was driving very slowly as she ran. She panicked and ran to a home, banging on the door for help. The car followed her to the home and pulled into the driveway. The man said "I live here", to which she - knowing he had been following her - replied "no you don't".

Mike Jenkings was driving home. He was driving slowly looking at the Christmas lights in his neighborhood. He pulled into his home and there was a woman at the door. He said "I live her" to which she replied "no you don't".

Obviously the woman did not believe that Mike Jenkings lived there because Mr. Jenkings is a black man. This is a blatant example of racism (that was Mikes' conclusion, the conclusion of his family, and the most vocal conclusion of our society).

At first the woman tried to explain her thoughts. She did not care about skin color. She thought somebody was stalking her (abd her two children) as they were jogging. She thought the driver pulled in that driveway for nefarious purposes.

But that ultimately did not matter. She was a racist who could not believe a black man lived in a gated neighborhood.

It is better (IMHO) to discuss facts rather than trying to determine what was going through the mind of another person. This, I believe, can lead to a better understanding of how things are perceived while not diminishing the facts of a situation.
