Your challange is worthless. If someone bothered to take the time, you would call their arguments lies. The bottom line is, you are promoting as a shining example of church history a murderer and liar.

wow, don't think about the Apostle paul liked that!
He already had an "inferiority complex" as viewing himself as the 'least among the Apostles!"

If you consider persecution and murder trifling, then you need more help than I can offer.

I have no intention of comparing the likes of John Calvin to the Apostle Paul. The thought never crossed my mind.

The Apostle Paul was a man. John Calvin was a man. Paul's writings which are included in the canon are God-breathed;Calvin's are not. Paul's energies and devotion to the Lord are enormous. But John Calvin can indeed be compared with the Apostle Paul in several categories. The number one sense is that John Calvin's influence in the Christian church through the centuries till today and after we have passed this scene are enduring.

The preaching Charles H.Spurgeon has been said to compare with none since the days of the Apostles. Is that too not permitted to be said? Of course not.

The Lord is behind the human instruments;whether Paul, the man of Geneva,or Spurgeon. Praise the Lord.

I see there are no takers. Nobody has the guts, much less substaniation to take apart my OP because...Get ready... My OP was factually true;unlike some dubious "articles" that have been posted here as of late which are bold-faced lies. The people who post such large lies are not bearing good fruit. And we are told to look at the fruit of those who profess the Lord.

Basic facts regarding Calvin and true Baptists: Calvin was a universal, state-church, pedobaptist. True Baptists were against such things before Calvin, during Calvin and after Calvin.

    Now what?

Have we checked out our Baptist heritage lately? It is not through Calvin. We seem mired in universal ecumenism.

"Come out from among them says the Lord, touch not the unclean thing."

    Even so, come Lord Jesus.

    Supposing by "glutton" you mean:

A person with an inordinate capacity to receive or withstand something"

Don't think you can substantiate the second charge .

The comparisons betwixt Apostle Paul and John Calvin:

    1) Both were males
    2) Both slept
    3) Both ate
    4) Both used the bathroom
    5) Both breathed air
    6) Both drank water
    7) Both wore clothes
    8) Both wrote...but not in the same ballpark
    9) Both walked
    10)Both spoke with people
11)Both had someone put to death
    12)Both died
13)Both went "up"....well, on second thought..........

Yeah, I see a lot of similairities betwixt them. But to put John Calvin's name even in the same paragraph with Apostle Paul is mind-boggling......

    Here's a portion from a 1980's Mel McDaniel song:

Thought I was a "he-man", do it just for me man,
    Knew just what to do.
Thought I was a hero, she rated me a zero,
    Said honey-child you ain't true.

Mind boggling indeed. Last time I checked heaven and hell have very little in common.

It is you who is the liar, and your fruit stinks. You idolize a murderer, and you try to cover up the truth.

More evidence of what Calvin was:

    Other quotes of Calvin:

Calvin said in Defense of the Orthodox Faith in the Sacred Trinity, "do not fail to rid the country of those scoundrels, who stir up the people to revolt against us. Such monsters should be exterminated, as I have exterminated Michael Servetus the Spaniard."

"Whoever shall now contend that it is unjust to put heretics and blasphemers to death will knowingly and willingly incur their very guilt," said by Calvin.

Calvin said, "there are others who assail me harshly as a master in cruelty and atrocity, for attacking...one who perished by my hands."

Calvin was incensed, “We must stamp out this burst of hell-fire before it spreads over the surface of the earth.... Freedom of conscience is a doctrine of the devil.... Better to have a tyrant, however cruel, than permit everyone to do what he pleases.”
