    What's the point just so folks can put you down for it not be accredited, BTW if the accredition group is not recogniozed by the U.S. Department of Ecucation it isn't considered accredited.

    Right. I can't just make up "Damon's Accreditation group" for my own college, in order for me to lie to people and say "I am accredited." It is sickeningly dishonest and disgusting to do such a thing.

    Many of the accrediting sources you mentioned in the other post for Christian Schools are not recognized by the U.S. Dept. of Education. So that would mean the degree has no value.

    Not so. I have no idea what you are talking about. Every Accrediting agency that I have endorsed, is recognized by the U.S. government.

    Making up your own accrediting agency, because you cannot meet basic educational guidelines, and then lying to people and saying you are "Accredited" is disgusting, and unworthy of any school calling itself "Christian."

    It would be like having a drug rejected by the FDA, as a pharmaceutical company, and then changing one of your employees names to "Government" so you can say your drug is "Government approved." Its slick, dishonest, snake oil salesman type dishonesty, that should make a lover of Christ sick.

    However, this is a fellowship forum, so should take your "bone picking" elsewhere.

    I went to the U.S. Department of Education looked up approved accrediting agencies many of the ones you listed are not there.

    The whole point here is asking where someone went to universtiy, and then pick that school clean if it isn't accredited right?

    That is what you guys did on the last post about schools. The bone picking started there, I figured all of wanted to carry it on in here.

    There are many good bible universities who could get accredidation if they chose to but they chose not too so they don't have to follow federal guidelines on hiring. Others don't becuase they don't choose to receive government finaces or get their students in debt for Government loans and such. But you guys in the other forum chose to say they aren't good schools because they aren't accredited.

    Not true. They are there. Please list one that not...

    Not at all. This is a fellowship forum.

    Take it to a debate forum.

    No one said that. It is one thing to not be accredited (I have a degree from an unaccredited school). It is something else entirely for the school to make up an accreditation agency themselves, and then lie and say "We are accredited." That means they are not a good school, at least in terms of morality, and almost certainly in terms of academic rigor.

    SATS I didn't see them might have missed them.

    The school I received my Bachelors from is an affiliate school of ABHE they are on the list, but it isn't accredited by the agency only an affiliate.

    Here is what Affiliation with ABHE consist of:

    "Membership status in ABHE is limited to accredited and pre-accredited institutions. Affiliate status is available to credible institutions of biblical higher education seeking to benefit from ready access to ABHE services and networking but presently lacking either readiness or inclination to seek ABHE accreditation. Institutions may be approved by the Board of Directors as ABHE Affiliates upon documentation that they meet the following Criteria/Conditions of Eligibility:

    ■Agreement with the ABHE Tenets of Faith
    ■Evidence that the institution is operating legally within the parameters of the particular province/state relative to faith-based post secondary institutions
    ■Recognition (corporate identity) as a non-profit organization
    ■Presence of a publicly stated/board approved mission statement that has a biblical/ministry formation focus
    ■Commitment to offer education at a post secondary level
    ■Curricular offerings, degrees, and institutional nomenclature consistent with North American higher educational norms
    ■Human, educational, and financial resources commensurate with institutional mission and curricular offerings
    ■Minimum of a two-year history with an identifiable external governing board, administration, faculty, and student body
    ■A letter of reference from an administrator/faculty member of an ABHE member institution or from an ABHE professional staff person affirming the institution’s integrity, credibility, and compatibility with ABHE’s purpose and values
    Commitment to accurate disclosure of accredited status, according to the following stipulations:
    ■An affiliate institution must not portray itself, verbally or in print, as an accredited member of ABHE;
    ■An affiliate institution must not claim accreditation through an agency lacking recognition by the U.S. Department of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation;
    ■Affiliate institutions must use the following disclosure statement: [Institution Name] is an affiliate institution of the Association for Biblical Higher Education. As such, it participates in and contributes to collegial and professional development activities of the Association. Affiliate status does not, however, constitute, imply, or presume ABHE accredited status at present or in the future.
    ■Affiliate institutions must notify the ABHE office promptly regarding any changes in directory information (i.e., website, mailing address, instructional location(s), leadership)
    ■Submission of annual affiliate dues; institutions whose annual dues are more than 60 days delinquent will be dropped from the affiliate roster.
    ■Institutions that have been dropped from affiliate status may seek reinstatement after 3 years."

    But is this good enough for those who say it must be accredited?

    ABHE specifically states that affiliate members are not accredited members. If accreditation is a requirement, affiliate membership would not suffice.

    But I wonder about these institutions who want to enjoy this affiliate status but are not willing to go all the way.

    LOL>

    Brother, SATS is not an accreditation entity. SATS is a Seminary in South Africa: South African Theological Seminary. It is accredited through the Council of Higher ed. of South Africa. They claim, and have, the legitimate accreditation for their area.
