To put together in a nut shell all that I've been saying, those who choose to believe on Christ have been chosen by God/predestined to His plan to be conformed in the image of Christ.

The Elect or Chosen are the ones who choose to believe on Christ in the prescribed order chosen by God. Only His way, and there is only one way. The remnant are chosen as a remnant, in other words by free will placing them in the remnant.

The "remnant" here is of Israel. It is the remnant that is elected, not who will be in the remnant.
