Does your church have an altar?

We used to gather around the altar and pray before the closing prayer. Now... I am afraid... Our church has picked up too many "Alters" ... Or those desirous to change everything.

    Aslan and Jesus

I was brought up with a mother in the Marine Corp and a dad in the Navy and born in Jacksonville, North Carolina near the Camp LaJeune Marine Corp Base. As a result of all the travel I did a lot of reading. One of my books that exists within my memory was the "The Lion, the Witch, and the...

    Rail Praise

The Norfolk and Southern railways runs behind my house. As it departs the New River with West Virginia coal it really makes a sound that disappears as it enters the tunnel atop the mountain. I have mixed a Singing Cookes song with the train as it travels through the tunnel.

    Charismatic- But not really!

Someone has built a new church about five miles from the house and has called it The Northstar Church. I had union business to attend to Sunday and passed this place around 11PM. The place looked like it had 500 cars with vehicles parked on unpaved lots. They have two services on Sunday mornings...

I have the George Clark Rankin story on pdf file and have shared it extensively. I also print out copies to pass out and share… Revival.pdf Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. - Jeremiah 6:16

Faith in the old Methodist Way

After we went home I tossed on the bed before going to sleep and wondered why God did not do for me what he had done for mother and what he was doing in that meeting for those young people at the altar. I could not understand it. But I resolved to keep on trying, and so dropped off to sleep. The...

Faith in the old Methodist Way

In the course of an hour I was at my uncle's. He was surprised to see me, but gave me a cordial welcome. The first thing he did was to disarm me, and that ended my pistol-toting. I have never had one about my person or home to this good day. And I never will understand just why I had that one. A...

Faith in the old Methodist Way

The spiritual transformation... "Grandfather was kind to me and considerate of me, yet he was strict with me. I worked along with him in the field when the weather was agreeable and when it was inclement I helped him in his hatter's shop, for the Civil War was in progress and he had returned at...

Faith in the old Methodist Way

I came to faith in the old Methodist way and exactly the way George Clark Rankin 150 years before me. I have heard the difference between the Baptist and the Methodist is that the Baptist do not believe in backsliding but the Methodist practice it. For this cause I do not recommend any...

    The Beast and Bitcoin

The scripture does discourage date predictions, giving us enough to know things that must transpire without exact dates. And also reminding us that the day of the Lord will occur as a thief in the night. If I had to pick an end time date I would go with the scientist, Isaac Newton... "And I...
