    The Double Election of Scripture

Hence the problem. The OP'er doesn't understand Calvinism, Arminianism, or the biblical teachings on election. Referring to the premise of your owns posts is circular reasoning by definition.

    The Double Election of Scripture

Yes, Van's doctrine. Not actually biblical doctrine.

    The Double Election of Scripture

Yes, it is. You're redefining terms. That's the first step in destroying dialog.

Old Testament men were not saved by "looking forward to the cross"

None of us are beyond pride. I would never want to imply I am. It would be proud to think so.

Old Testament men were not saved by "looking forward to the cross"

So now you're guiltless? Plus I'm looking at this list you provided. It would appear you think all these are non-orthodox and heresy, and some of them certainly are not. It makes me wondering who you are listening to. And when you'll be condemning your current position as heresy. At the...

Old Testament men were not saved by "looking forward to the cross"

And maybe your journey's not over. You think this justified arrogance and condescension toward some? Trust me, your journey is not over. There's no reason to think you've arrived. Mysteries will unfold to the end.

Old Testament men were not saved by "looking forward to the cross"

I hope I don't become so arrogant and condescending, I refuse to listen to anyone.

You get this often. I just see you listening.

    The Double Election of Scripture

I think mainly because you present tedious complicated views that are difficult to follow, which change terms as they're normally understood. Corporate and individual election, generally are understood as two opposing views. Election: Individual vs. Corporate | Monergism

    The Double Election of Scripture

Perhaps your arguing there's no difference between corporate and individual election. If that's the case, you're confusing and conflating terms as their generally used.

Old Testament men were not saved by "looking forward to the cross"

On the contrary George, you need to listen to him and others. You post a lot strange things, and need correction.

    The Double Election of Scripture

There is no such thing as corporate election. Whether you believe election is based on foreknown faith or a simple predestinarian choice, it's always spoken of as individual. Acts 13:48 When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed...

Old Testament men were not saved by "looking forward to the cross"

Maybe better to say Calvin was a Paulineist (probably not a word).

Old Testament men were not saved by "looking forward to the cross"

They knew Messiah was coning and would defeat our adversary. They didn't know the details of how all this would play out. They looked forward to what the Cross accomplished, but didn't understand the Cross itself as we do. In that sense, they looked forward to the Cross.

Old Testament men were not saved by "looking forward to the cross"

They knew a Conquerer was coming based on the first prophesy of the Seed in Gen. 3:15. This Conquerer was going to defeat our adversary the devil. I think it's fair to say they didn't have the bright light of history we have today, and didn't understand the atonement in depth as it is...
