Pandemic-Style Seminary at Home (my favorite links and resources)

Oops, I guess there is a time limit on when I can edit a post to add or replace anything with something better. I have found new stuff, but will wait awhile before I share anything unless it is really important. There was enough here to get anyone started. But I had nothing for Hebrew with a...

    The purpose of higher education

No, you heard right. I am one of the people he is trying to counsel not to be so foolish. I think he is wrong about me and some people like me. Paul Washer has a video on prayer that says this better than me. The Charismatic churches that I sometimes attended as a child were in error, yes, but...

    The purpose of higher education

This is something I realized while taking the WVBS course. There is some stuff that I am not willing to back down on: right or wrong, folk or academic. Period. Other things are worth exploring. I have spent time in a lot of denominations. There are pros and cons, and strengths and weaknesses...

    Confessional vs Non-Confessional Seminaries

    Confessional vs Non-Confessional Seminaries

When I first said I wanted a "baptist" education, I did not know the vocabulary to explain that I wanted a "confessional Baptist" education, and I probably still don't know the full correct vocabulary. But I am narrowing in on all this. As I read things, I know now that some words are far more...

    Confessional vs Non-Confessional Seminaries

The Westminster. I want to study the Baptist one. I have it in the Olive Tree app. I have learned a lot, and learned it fast. Every day, one resource leads me to another, and then to another. I was like this with the law schools stuff, and then the cybersecurity stuff, and other things before...

    The purpose of higher education

In this video at 10:40 the speaker says that confessional seminaries are better than non-denominational seminaries. That was what I asked about in another thread. Confessional vs Non-Confessional Seminaries But the thrust of this video and especially the one before it are the secular issues...

The Importance of Being Earnest: Approaching Theological Study

The original article includes this quote: "Are you attending a local church regularly (and I must stress at this point that CU is no substitute for church) where the word is faithfully preached and the Lord's Supper is duly administered?" The video discusses this topic. What are your...

    Confessional vs Non-Confessional Seminaries

At 10:40 this speaker say "#6 Go to a confessional seminary!" He says students that attend a confessional seminary get a better education and have a "fire in their eyes".

I have seen that too, but not nearly as often as when the pastor started the church.
