Solely??? I was born and educated in fundamentalism. I only cited it as an example that others outside of the movement are noting as well. I know from experience being a former (recovering) fundie myself. I have family ties with former professors of Midwestern College in MI. I married into a...

I'm sorry. But I am really not understanding this post in light of the discussion.

I've heard the C in LCP stand for something else... um... feminine... ahem. You know.

I am set on holsters. I love the N82 tactical holsters (made in Lexington, NC, Rob_BW). Right now, I carry a Ruger LCP. But I want that to go to my wife for obvious reasons. I'm not ashamed to say I sometimes feel ashamed of carrying it. The thing is so tiny. But it'll get the job done...

Thanks for the advice. The Shield option is better mainly b/c it is CHEAPER. But let me probe this a bit further. Is the thinner frame worth it for IWB carrying in order to give up a much larger capacity? Is the wider frame of the M&Pc that uncomfortable for IWB carrying, even w/ a great holster?

Maybe the fundamentalism to which you subscribe does not, but the group at large falls very much into those categories. The 20/20 investigation confirmed what I already knew firsthand. However, I didn't realize I insinuated any of that (I think you misunderstood my points about its arrival and...

I'm so confused. I was trying to point that out in my initial post. Jordan really just wants a Greek grammar that will either sustain his KJVO beliefs or not flow to harsh against his tide of fundamentalism. Then you started seemingly taking offense at my accusations of fundamentalism all the...

It doesn't have to be in some book. It is the mentality that defines the movement.

No... that word connotes a radical or over-zealous mindset. That is why we use it for Islamists. Calling them a fundamentalist is the same as an extremist.

Evangelicals believe this, but they aren't fundamentalists. So really you have 6 since #1 is typically separated. And I believe in the VB, but I'm not sure it is a fundamental seeing as how it barely is discussed in Scripture. But that is for another thread.

I'm looking to buy a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield. Any thoughts or advice on this one? I am also torn between the Shield and the M&P Compact. I think I would prefer the greater capacity of the Compact to the thinner frame of the Shield. Thoughts?

    TRACS Video

Thank you for this post. It was most helpful. Having attended a TRACS school while they were doing this, I do believe it is a stout process. However, could you explain or direct us to the point in the video about the thing of a University to a small Bible college? I do not follow. So you had 1...

While true, for fundies, it is a matter of association. They don't want their well poisoned by liberal scholarship no matter how good. And the continuum of liberal theology is flattened to say that if they aren't with us, they are liberal. Leave the baby in the bath water. That's is their m.o.

Not sure that I would say "deny my position" in the fundy camp so much as abandoned it. I adhere to the 5 solas of the reformation. And to which fundamentals are you referring? Fundies can't even agree among themselves. Are there only 5? And fundamental for what? Salvation? Christian doctrine...

The point is, many in the fundamentalist camp refuse to learn from anybody with a view they deem liberal or too aberrant from their own. Militant separation and all.

Really? You can't summarize the man's point and save us an hour? If you think he is right and my opinion towards TRACS is off, then the onus is on you (the person who brought this up in the first place) to convince me otherwise.

    KJV vs NKJV

I could say the same for many of those things. I don't care to air my dirty laundry against the IFB movement. Not here anyways. Let's just say that I walked away from it with a bitter taste in my mouth. However, most KJVo's come from IFB churches. That was my point. There are a few SBC KJVo...

    KJV vs NKJV

And that tells me all that we need to know. You don't want to leave the KJV. It is your standard. You will never be able to embrace a translation that is higher in quality like the NKJV until you can get past the "correctly calls" rhetoric. Do you even know why you think the KJV is correct...

    TRACS Video

You are just far more gracious than me. I will say this. A TRACS institution is not a diploma mill. But they are trying to compete with other schools of better accreditation without the means to do it. Examples: faculty (some w/ and w/out PhD's and rarely from first tier institutions) and...
