    Is God "free"?

Question to Anyone: Please show me a passage in to Bible that clear demonstrates where God limits Himself. (Note: Limits of His character are not being considered as 'self-limiting' as discussed above; also, Jesus as human did not limit the Godhead in any way as discussed previously.)

    Kent Hovind KJV

Thanks. maybe I'll watch James later. I like to do my own analysis first.

    Original Sin??? #1

If God's command and consequences to Adam about the eating of the ToGE are not universal, then are we to umderstand the other commands (multiply, etc.) also to Adam only?

    The main complaints - against...

Any one reading Revelation 3 knows that the context is a letter to a Christian church. Quote verse 19 and try to tell us that verse 20 is about Christ knocking on the lost person's door.

    Kent Hovind KJV

I was curious what Kent Hovind would say next. He had just made comments about there being several generations of copies of the Scriptures when (about 5:00 into the video) he begins to talk about the accuracy of the copying process: "A good way to check that copying process and see was it...

    The main complaints - against...

Really? Does it not bother you at all to abuse Scripture by pulling it out of context?

    Kent Hovind KJV

You're not being confrontational. Its good to dig deeper. I'll try to provide more info. Your are partially correct. If you view the other thread on a Hovind video you'll see that I have dealt with his material before (quite fairly, I'm told). Actually, I could have attacked his comments in...

    Is God "free"?

That ain't gonna work. God the Father and God the Holy Spirit were still not localized while God the Son was here. The Godhead that created time-space cannot be confined by His creation ever. God cannot chose to be subservient to His creation.

    Is God "free"?

I like your answer. I deliberately did not use "will' with "free" in the OP.

Can a translation be Inspired and Infallible?

You would't know; and knowing would have no bearing on whether the translation is inspired & infallible, or not. Your knowledge of any thing does not change the substance of the thing.

    Kent Hovind KJV

My thoughts now on this video are consistent with my thoughts on the other video over six years ago: Mr. Hovind makes a lot of mistakes in his presentation. You have to listen carefully because he talks fast. After giving a brief personal testimony of his early days as a new Christian, he...

    Kent Hovind KJV

A video of Kent Hovind on the topic of Bible versions was the subject of another thread several years ago. The link to his video found in my OP is still good. The BB thread -- http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=44214

    Sincerity

I agree that God does not force any one to believe. But to say that God could force people to believe is an invalid statement. First, I don't think it is consistent with God's character for Him to 'force' people to believe. Therefore (in my opinion), God could not force people to believe. It...

    Is God "free"?

I realize that we have finite minds and we cannot be certain of what God can and cannot do, but we do the best we can with Scripture and reason that God gave to us. You stick with what you believe, and for now I will stick with what I believe. I think that there are things so-called 'outside'...

    Is God "free"?

I don't think I can distinguish a difference between #1 and #2. It seems to me that "free will" is essentially equivalent to "decisions" and "conformed" is parallel to "consistent" with both referring to "nature and character". Please elaborate the distinction you are trying to make here. Thanks

    Is God "free"?

To express what God does not do as self-limiting is misleading, at the very least. Certainly, there are many things that God could choose to do, but for reasons of His own He chooses not to do some of those things. It is within His power to do them, but He just doesn't use His power in that way...

    The Inanity of KJVOs' Questions

Luke 4:16-22 KJV -- And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place...

Is God free? (you should define "free" in your answer)

    Very Depressed.

[Psa 42:11 KJV] Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, [who is] the health of my countenance, and my God. Father God in thy Son's name, please restore our brother into the joy of his salvation. Amen

Can a translation be Inspired and Infallible?

2 Samuel 22:28-31 [KJV] -- And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down. For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness. For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall. As...
