New survey: Only one-third of Catholics believe in Real Presence

Then when Jesus says a subject IS a predicate, he may or may not be metaphorical? Also, to take a quote yourself, was Jesus joking when he said, Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven [Matthew 23:9]?

New survey: Only one-third of Catholics believe in Real Presence

This is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent to him priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?” And he confessed and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.” They asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” And he *said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he...

New survey: Only one-third of Catholics believe in Real Presence

Therefore it is my judgment that we do not trouble those who are turning to God from among the Gentiles, but that we write to them that they abstain from things contaminated by idols and from fornication and from what is strangled and from blood. For Moses from ancient generations has in every...

Hymnals Still Have a Place in Modern Churches

Hymnals Still Have a Place in Modern Churches True. My church has gotten rid of the hymnals, but not the hymn racks.

Sticks & Stones - Do You Stone The Sabbath Breaker? (Num 15:32-36)

No thanks; won't do it. The Word is already complete. We don't need that as we don't need the Book of Mormon. Answer this one: The second commandment starts by saying, "You shall make for yourself a graven image, or an likeness of anything that is the heaven above or in the earth below." A...

Sticks & Stones - Do You Stone The Sabbath Breaker? (Num 15:32-36)

Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day— things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ [Colossians 2:16-17]. Let's see if he tries to add to the Word and judge anyone...

Did America sin declaring independance from Britain?

There seems to be a presumption that the English monarch-- 'his government,' that is-- was a legitimate ruler and therefore it was a sin to rebel against him. How is that so, considering that the long line of kings were Anglo-Saxon and Norman French descended from people that took Britain from...

Did America sin declaring independance from Britain?

What reason is there to think Jesus was ever anywhere in body on this earth except Judah, Egypt, and Galilee? "All" may all mean where he was, but he didn't heal ALL who were oppressed of the devil (was Tiberius?).

Did America sin declaring independance from Britain?

But you're not "convinced" that he said as he has been oft quoted, that if he could preserve the union (as it was) without freeing a single slave, that he would do it?

Did America sin declaring independance from Britain?

That's highly questionable since Lincoln said if he could preserve the union without freeing a single slave he would do so. As to the latter reason, consider the 10th Amendment to the constitution.

Did America sin declaring independance from Britain?

Does Britain rightly belong to the Celts? or to the Iberians or others who may have been there before? Does any land belong to any peoples?

    Easter Island heads have bodies

The ancestors of the same people who live there now. PBS' Nova once did a piece on that, demonstrating that they still know how to move them. I think this was in response to the claims by von Daniken and other nuts that alien technology was needed. It wasn't and it ain't.

WHERE DOES IT SAY GOD'S SABBATH IS ABOLSIHED AND WE ARE COMMANDED TO KEEP SUNDAY AS A HOLY DAY?

But the topic won't be. I recommend no responses at all to the next thread just like this.
