Why I am not a Calvinist....

To some, they are content in only dealing with verses, usually out of its contextual meaning (like Acts 13:48), so that they can further push their own "theology", regardless of whether it contradicts the teaching of the Holy Bible!

Why I am not a Calvinist....

Thats exactly my point! Reformed and Calvinistic theology is more concerned with their own understanding of the Bible, than what it really does say. Like their dealing with certain passages in the Bible, which they misrepresent to promote their warped "theology"!

Why I am not a Calvinist....

Like Calvinism and Reformed theology do!

Why I am not a Calvinist....

James White is a JOKE, and his arguments are equally a JOKE. Rogers has it 100% RIGHT!

Why I am not a Calvinist....

Charles Ellicott, Greek Scholar "The quasi-middle force of the passive form of the verb is seen in the Greek of Act_20:13, where a compound form of it is rightly rendered “for so he had appointed,” and might have been translated for so he was disposed. It lies in the nature of the case that...

Why I am not a Calvinist....

I most certainly do, and human freedom and responsibility. God has made humans as "free agents" "The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth...

Why I am not a Calvinist....

it is the theology that they hold to, not necessary the person., it is a sad blindness only an "outsider" can see

Why I am not a Calvinist....

I am banging on about Calvin, because the OP, in case you did not notice, has his name!
  10. Saved-By-Grace

Why I am not a Calvinist....

the point is, that God knows, and He is very able to get His message of salvation to the "elect" if they were the only ones to be saved. It is very cruel to tell the whole world that God loves them enough to want them all saved, and then reject the greater majority to eternal punishment. This is...

Why I am not a Calvinist....

    ok, and your point is?
  12. Saved-By-Grace

Why I am not a Calvinist....

the point is that Paul, like God wanted ALL to be saved, even though all will not be
  13. Saved-By-Grace

Why I am not a Calvinist....

So God INVITES ALL through the preaching of the Gospel to ALL, and then by design, in the limited death of Jesus Christ, rejects the greater majority!

Why I am not a Calvinist....

You are referring to Acts 13:48. Where you will see both grammatically and contextually, that the verb, "τάσσω", can take the "middle voice", where the context demands it. you will notice in verse 46, the Jews regarded themselves as not worthy of eternal life (NOT God), which is the "middle...

Why I am not a Calvinist....

You serious? 1. Peter was speaking of those Jews who were living in a foreign land which was not their own, as these were considered as "exiles", as the Greek has it. 2. Where does it say here, that these were "chosen" to salvation? I doubt very much if ALL these Peter writes about here, were...

Why I am not a Calvinist....

makes no sense whatsoever! Let me illustrate. I have a 100 jobs, and tell the WHOLE WORLD that ANY can apply for them. Then, when ALL do come for the jobs, I say to them, sorry, I know I said ALL, but I only meant a FEW! This is deception.
  17. Saved-By-Grace

Why I am not a Calvinist....

sure, give me chapter and verse. What do you make of Paul's prayer in chapter 10, verse 1? "Brethren, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation.". Where he is speaking of his desire to see "them", ALL the Jews of his day, saved. He must have believed that God, in...

Why I am not a Calvinist....

Show me where in Romans? Chapter 9 theology is much abused by Calvinists!

Why I am not a Calvinist....

You forget that pharaoh also hardened his own heart. God did get His way in the end. No, it is warped Calvinistic theology that presents the Gospel that is to be preached to ALL without exception, as a lie.
