    No adulterers in Heaven !

So we have to work to keep our salvation? To earn our place in heaven?

Freedom of Choice and Abortion: Would you take away that freedom? Would you make it a criminal act?

No one said it was. What was said was that trying to save people via the law is wrong. Unless you believe we're saved by following the law, which is being saved by our own works; which, if that's what you believe, then we have a deeper problem....

Christians Carrying Concealed Weapons - Falwell vs. Piper

The question included seeing someone shooting or stabbing--intending to cause serious bodily harm or death--others. So what would you have us do? Be specific, and give us an alternative. Edited to add: where did anyone say "shoot to kill"? I believe you added that.

And...I'm not seeing a reply to my question....

    Church-Sponsored Concealed Carry Classes

While it's a different question--I expect Rev is correct and you'll see the same answers; e.g., if you trust Jesus, then why does your church support concealed carry, much less offer CC classes?

Freedom of Choice and Abortion: Would you take away that freedom? Would you make it a criminal act?

He's not saying abortion is okay. His argument is that forcing people to abide by a biblically-based law, and expecting them to "come to Jesus" by doing so, is wrong. In other words: the law does not save.

Christians Carrying Concealed Weapons - Falwell vs. Piper

So Zaac - what exactly would you have us do when we see people shooting or stabbing others? Raping our sisters, wives, or daughters? Beating our grandparents? Yes, those appear to be "emotional appeal" arguments; but they're actual scenarios. If not respond to stop the threat, what would you...

Christians Carrying Concealed Weapons - Falwell vs. Piper

Thanks, Hank; 1 Tim 5:8 is the verse I was trying to think of earlier.

Christians Carrying Concealed Weapons - Falwell vs. Piper

Was David, a man after God's heart, chastised by God for protecting the sheep that he was made responsible for? Was David chastised by God for using a sling to kill Goliath? Or for waging battle? He was most definitely chastised for sinning; but where's the example of Christians being chastised...

Christians Carrying Concealed Weapons - Falwell vs. Piper

For those that are throwing out the Beatitudes as an argument against defending others: John 15:13. The problem with using the Beatitudes is that they address individual response to individual offenses; i.e., someone slaps your cheek, you turn the other cheek. I tend to view owning a gun as a...

What books will you start 2016 with?

You won't need the previous Odd Thomas books to read the last two. Worth the effort.

Freedom of Choice and Abortion: Would you take away that freedom? Would you make it a criminal act?

You're gonna have to help me out here, James. In post #24, where exactly did I indicate that making a law was for societal conformity to biblical precepts? In fact, there's a whole paragraph that was meant to indicate exactly the opposite; that whole part where I included "soul liberty." I...

Missouri Now 4th State to Lose Federal Exemption

So--have to have a federally approved ID to get into federal facilities or to get on an airplane...but not required to vote.... <grin>

    deacons

Hopefully, the deacon uses Gal 6:1. But I think your question is, should a pastor caught in sin continue being a pastor?

Please pray for me to receive the gift of tongues

    1) Comparing your faith to testing a computer program or sound system. This is God we're talking about; you really think you need to "test" His power working through you? I suggest you re-read Matthew 12:38-39; Matt 16:1-4; John 4:48; 1 Cor 1:22-23. 2) You previously said that if you could...

Please pray for me to receive the gift of tongues

If I may.... You made the statement that if you spoke in tongues, you would be more confident about the gift of healing. Two things about that: 1) tongues are a sign for unbelievers, not believers. If you're a believer, then why do you need a sign to strengthen your belief in other gifts? Look...
