    Antisemitism in Britain

It's disputed; Wikipedia is a good place to start Khazars - Wikipedia Something happened to the Khazars; they can't have just vanished. Dispersal among Karaites, Krym Jews and Ashkenazim seems the most likely explanation.

    Antisemitism in Britain

You were the one who mentioned 1944 not me, so you are best placed to answer your own question. And the League of Nations mandate incorporated the text of the Balfour Declaration in its preamble, including the parts I italicised. Why are you so obsessed with the British Labour Party in the 1940s?

    Antisemitism in Britain

It's a controversial topic and one which is unfortunately linked by some people to anti-Semitism. Therefore you will find plenty of material (genetic and historical) on the internet both for and against the theory but beware that the stuff in favour has often been hijacked by far-right groups

    Antisemitism in Britain

Er...i think you'll find that Winston Churchill, a Conservative, was our Prime Minister in 1944. But please don't let the facts bother you. And what is this 'international agreement' of the Labour Party of which you speak? If you mean the Balfour Declaration, that was drawn up by a Conservative...

I don't begrudge paying tax for London: what's good for them is good for the UK - the City of London for example is a financial powerhouse that drives much of our economy and if investors are driven away from fear of crime then we all suffer

    Antisemitism in Britain

Many Ashkenazis are descendants of the Khazars, a Turkic tribe which converted to Judaism in the 7th century ie: nothing to do with OT Israel.

    Antisemitism in Britain

Ah, Nye Bevan: a big, angry Welshman who basically said to the doctors, "Now look here, here's some money, now go and make poor people well". And thus was born the NHS

    Antisemitism in Britain

Some parts are. Others are Blairite (after Tony Bliar...you know, the guy who helped give us the Iraq War under false pretences). Why the obsession with Ernest Bevin?

British Pensioner 78, Arrested For Murder Against Home Intruders

The police here need 'reasonable suspicion' that a crime has been committed by the arrested individual (I don't know how that compares to your 'probable cause'), otherwise they can find themselves on the end of a law suit for wrongful arrest and false imprisonment

They already do: Mayor’s budget confirms additional £27m for policing in London It's the funding from central government that's been cut to the bone

British Pensioner 78, Arrested For Murder Against Home Intruders

Because it is relevant to the conduct of the arresting officers: they didn't find him inside the house in the act of burgling it, they found him outside having been stabbed, with the 'perpetrator' (as they would have initially seen him) nearby. So, not a 'neat' 'home invasion', as you would have...

    Antisemitism in Britain

It's often the case that those who are persecuted can become the persecutors: think of the Puritans in New England -v- the Native Americans, Dutch Calvinists in South Africa, Scottish Covenanters in the Ulster Plantation. It's the same as school bullies typically having been bullied themselves...

London Beats NY in Murder Rate

The immigrants work harder than the natives typically. It's the government cut backs which are the problem: cut public spending on law enforcement by 18% and then whine about crime rates

    Antisemitism in Britain

What on earth does any of that mean?! 'The Palestinians'? Who are they? Are they the same as 'The Poles' who murdered President McKinley?

    Antisemitism in Britain

I don't think many here carry a torch for Iran and I don't think the rights and wrongs of the Attlee government post-1945 have any bearing or relevance on the actions of the Israeli state in the 21st century.

British Pensioner 78, Arrested For Murder Against Home Intruders

He can't be questioned unless he's arrested under UK law. The police here aren't allowed to just randomly interrogate their fellow citizens without obeying the law.
