Brother, most of what I know about Calvinism comes directly from Calvinist here on the BB. I would think that Calvinist should understand Calvinism the best, don't you? Now if the scripture declares these works were foreordained, then wouldn't that mean these works WILL be done?? Wouldn't...

Saving Faith: God’s Gift to Sinners or Sinners’ Gift to God?

It won't take you to long to see who post the personal attacks and who is able to ask and answer the tough questions. You said your not a Calvinist, I can understand why you do not want to be associate with that camp. It changes people who probably once were very loving to all the brethren...

Isn't it the Cal position that these works spoken of are done by God through us? We do not have any choice in the matter, we cannot fail to do these works which have been prepared for us before God saved us, Correct?

Saving Faith: God’s Gift to Sinners or Sinners’ Gift to God?

Just trying to sort this out. Another Cal poster said one doesn't become a sheep, one is a sheep but just lost until found. So does God hate His sheep before He then loves them when He finds them?

Saving Faith: God’s Gift to Sinners or Sinners’ Gift to God?

Yes. And that is what Romans 8 is speaking of, those who do things in the flesh to try in please God. God judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. If a lost person does good it pleases God. It does not save the person. Calvinism uses Romans 8 out of context. And now you will post another...

Saving Faith: God’s Gift to Sinners or Sinners’ Gift to God?

So when a lost person has compassion on the poor and needy, even sacrifices their own time and well being for those less fortunate, not for any personal gain, nor for any attempt to please God to gain favor in some way from God, this does not please God? God hates these lost people going around...

    Can anyone be saved?

Yes, the Apostle's writings are sufficient. I'm sure you would agree. No, your sermon should be more than reading the text. You should be making life applications for Christian living. What you should not be doing, and I'm pretty sure you are not, is going beyond what is written. Like restating...

Saving Faith: God’s Gift to Sinners or Sinners’ Gift to God?

I think certain topics such as Calvinism and Arminianism make for some entertaining past time, but what we ought to ultimately seek is a deeper relationship with God and to be about our Father's business.
