LIberty University Lifts Hands and Praises God!

Ok fair enough. It does sound like (at least what I'm reading), is that you're more ranting on the "style" of music, i.e. beats, rhythms, compositions, than you are the lyrical points of music. There are a number of great Christian artists who write and produce music that is very steeped in...

LIberty University Lifts Hands and Praises God!

Love these types of discussions. My question would be this. What constitutes an "old hymn", and what about "new hymns"? What about "old hymns" that are arranged a little differently musically, but keep the same lyrics?

JC pennys Now 'officially" A gay friendly Company!

As much as I cringe getting into a discussion like this I have to ask the question. How do you know the people in magazine or newspaper ads are homosexual? Are the ads explicitly stating that the people appearing in the ads are homosexual? I ask because I haven't seen the ads that are being...

Does your church use the front door?

Front doors, side doors, fellowship hall door (comes from the education building for those coming from Sunday School. About the only doors we don't use are the emergency exits!!

    Change of screen name

Is it possible to change my screen name?? I had forgotten I signed up with my nickname, and would like to change it to my real name if possible.

    Orlando/Kissimmee area churches

Good evening, My wife and I will be going to the Kissimmee Florida area in late April, and was wondering if anyone was familiar with any churches in that or the Orlando area that we could consider worshiping with while we're there? I've looked at some of the churches websites and have some...

IF Not A Baptist, Which Church Would You Be Attending?

There are a number of churches in our area that aren't baptist but doctrinally are right in line, so if there were no baptist churches around here (like that will ever happen here in the deep south), then we'd visit some of those.

I am lucky to be alive!! Got hit by a car..

There are a number of places that take deserted railroad trackage and make bike paths out of it. My daughter lived in Washington state for four years, and they had a few routes that were former railroad lines...was cool to ride them. There are a few here in Arkansas, but not many, and seeing...

I am lucky to be alive!! Got hit by a car..

That is so true...our local bicycle club in Arkansas puts it on their website and facebook page to stay off of sidewalks as much as possible. There are a couple places in Little Rock where riding on the sidewalk is necessary, but they are short distances and not many pedestrians walk there...

I am lucky to be alive!! Got hit by a car..

I haven't ridden much since I shattered my arm in 2009, but hoping to get back riding again this spring. I'd have to agree with others on here that a sidewalk is not a safe place to ride with pedestrians and especially vehicles pulling out of driveways or into driveways for that matter. Even...

    Is this against the law?

EV, best thing you can do is just keep moving on and knocking on doors, handing out resume's, and taking interviews. If you get bogged down with this company or that company's preferences, you'll hinder your job search.

Dealing with controlling & divisive people

Hate to say it, but if daughter hasn't disconnected mom's controlling ways at 30+ years old, it's probably not going to happen anytime soon. That should have been taken care of way back in the early/mid 20's.

    Does your church do this?

Our church does a "meet and greet" every Sunday morning service; it's a chance for members to shake hands and welcome visitors and guests, and those who are not in the Sunday School classes.

    Question

Welcome Harris, I would only mirror what the prior posters have said. In our bible study last night our pastor started teaching through Revelation 16, the seven bowls or vial judgments. In going through the judgments that will be poured out, it says over and over that men will blaspheme God...

    The Arkansas Job Market

With that background you shouldn't have any trouble finding some work in the Ft. Smith area. Van Buren is just across the river and will help expand your search. There are a number of companies local in Ft. Smith and Van Buren that utilize railroads (UP, KCS, Arkansas & Missouri) and would have...

    The Arkansas Job Market

C'mon to Arkansas! It's a great place to live, great place to raise a family! I haven't kept up much with Ft. Smith since college (started my college career at the Community College there), and it has certainly grown a lot since I was there in the 80's, but overall the state is a great place to...

Why Is There Such a Battle OVER MUSIC??

Ok, so I had heard it somewhere before then. So in the midst of how churches are now, what would that look like mainly? Two services? One for believers/members (the teaching/discipleship,etc) and possibly another service more evangelistic in nature? Now I'm thinking (and could be in error) that...

Why Is There Such a Battle OVER MUSIC??

Let me ask this (and it's getting away from the music discussion but follows along your thought a bit); I've read before or listened to discussion that the church worship service should be for believers and church members only. Would you agree with that? I think the point was that only certain...

Why Is There Such a Battle OVER MUSIC??

The statement was made that introduced the term LOUD, I was just trying to find out how LOUD is defined? Applicable question I would think. When I hear God speaking to me, a majority of the time it's from His word, or from an urging of the Holy Spirit. I can't for certain say I've ever heard...
