Major League baseball banned the signing of women to contracts in June of 1952. I'm not sure if that has ever been revoked. As far as basketball and football, I don't think there are any written rules in their organizations that forbid women signing with a pro team.

I didn't read in the article that the gunmen were muslim, but a group of masked militants. Is it just assumed the gunmen are muslim because World Vision is a christian group?
