Brothers.

Unfortunately many Calvinists and Reformed are not active in witnessing which not only saddens me, but more importantly saddens the Lord. Brothers do you not believe in the great commission or do I need to quote all 4 mentions of it in all 4 gospels? The master book of evangelism called the Book of Acts outlines what the disciples and Apostles did, and they were very active in preaching, teaching, reasoning, explaining, persuading, and pleading. Do you not believe me or do I need to quote a number of scriptures to make my point? My point is to be active in witnessing and reach as many as you can. Sadly we live in a day of Privatization, and practical humanism/atheism as many live as if God does not exist outside of the church. They often make excuses and say that their life somehow is more valid of a witness than the Holy Scriptures and in so saying such a thing they deny the sufficiency of the scripture (Heb 4:12, Jer 23:29, Eph 6:17). So I challenge all Calvinists/Reformed to be out witnessing as often as possible and don't buy into the lies of the contemporary church. Nope follow the master book on evangelism called Acts. Do not follow the thousands of books on evangelism, but follow the master book called the Bible, and or any book that takes you to that book in detail. Recently I read one by Reisinger whom no doubt follows the outline and theology of Acts very closely.

Some of the greatest 'soul winning" persons and churches have been Calvinistic though!

The term 'witnessing' doesn't necessarily have anything to do with street evangelism.

me thinks you're getting to be nauseating in your horn-tooting about how active you are in 'witnessing'. nauseating and tiresome not only to "Calvinists" but maybe also to non-cals.

Read this book and or listen to this everyday.

No, I do not need to read any book.
Not by JMac, not by Tozer, not by anybody, just because you say so.
You want to go on 'soul-winning' like the blood Christ shed on the cross meant nothing and won no souls to God, then go ahead, and from the other side of your mouth you can spout how you believe God needs no help from humans.
Take a list with you to heaven and show it to God and tell him how you helped His Son make sure that those He died for actually made it to heaven because you evangelized them.
Go ahead, just do your thing, but stop tooting your horn.
Just do what you believe should be done and leave others alone.
How do you even know they are not involved in evangelism ?
On what basis do you judge them ?
Do what you feel you should be doing, and shut up.

21 Peter therefore seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?
22 Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? Follow thou me. Jn 21

A very odd statement.

Not often you have something I agree with but to this we agree.

Yea you would say that wouldn't you....proves you don't even understand your own salvation theology that you profess so strenuously. I'm done with you....I have tried to be supportive but it just goes in one ear and out the other. Good luck finding yourself. I quit.:BangHead:

You probably understand that Calvinism and biblical evangelism directly contradict each other. This is probably why the lay Calvinist find it difficult to get motivated to preach, after all, if anyone is of the Elect God will take care of it in some way whether I do any witnessing or not.

Now you oughta here John MacArthur preach! He sounds like a full blown Arminian! Of course, not many Calvinist are going to preach TULIP to the crowds.

You don't even know your own history. Arminius came out of Calvinism.

Evan you need to realize not everyone is you. I think somewhere in scripture it says we are all gifted but in different ways. Maybe my gift is apologetic teaching, what are you doing for apologetics in God's Kingdom? You need to study like I do and teach like I do, if not maybe your not a Christian or a weak one at that. I will pray for you brother.....sound familiar?
