We treat people who are gay like lepers in most churches. We see them as an enamy instead of a potential brother and sister in Christ. I am tired of seeing the church bemoan problems and do nothing about it.

Christ never lost focus: TO SEEK AND SAVE!!!!

Joe I am not trying to defame you. I use alot of sling it goes with the job. It does seem that you have a problem with anyone who disagrees with your views. I am merely pointing out my view on the subject and if it seems I am hitting a sore spot I an sorry.

You can look at the stats and the church is failing to reach this world. We are losing the battle that is ours to win.

Patrick,

1. When you say most Churches, do you mean most churches in Georgia, or in your part of Georgia? Are you possibly judging the whole church based on your limited experiences with the churches in your area? In 33 years of living, I have lived in Missouri, Guam, Arkansas, and Texas, and I have never experienced this hatred you describe at any Church I have attended.

2. You are correct, however, about Christ. He never did lose his focus. And neither should we: TO PREACH THE WORD AND SHOW THE LOVE OF GOD TO THE LOST!!!!!!!!!

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

I have have done alot of research and study. We make people the problem. Sinful nature is the problem. People make blanket statements "aids is plaque og God on gays". and other comments.

When people hear this, does that make them want to know CHrist? We drive them away. Not you and I the church as whole.

I will pray that God will deliver you from Arkansas.

Have you published your research? I think I would be interested in seeing it.

I think if you read my earlier comments on this thread, then you will see that I disagreed with that statement.

We are disobedient to Christ when we do things like this. But, we do not thwart the sovereign will of God. I am not that powerful and neither are you.

I will pray that God will deliver you from Arkansas. [/QUOTE]

Why would you do that? Does God not love the people of Arkansas as well? Does God not want me to share the Gospel and show the love of God to the lost in Arkansas?

Joseph,

Ever heard of Wesatboro Baptist Church?

Just wondering.
Yes, I have. I would call them the exception and not the rule. I also don't believe they are Christians as they teach hate and not love.

TP,

I can only be responsible for my obedience to God and his word. I cannot help what Fred Phelps does. God will judge him for that. I can rebuke and correct his errant message using the Bible. Outside of that, he will ultimately be held held responsible to God for his hate. And, despite his hate and defamation of Christianity, if it is God's will for someone to be saved, he will accomplish it. Not even Fred Phelps is powerful enough to thwart the will of God.

Joe,

The arkansas thing was a joke, buddy. God, has a plan for our lives. Do we allways follow his will? Is it God's soveriagn will when unborn baby is aborted? God has given us free will and sometimes we make a wrong choice. Was it God's will that all should suffer death. Adam and Eve sinned in the garden. I didn't but I was born with a sinful nature.

Pizza,

My home town is about 90 miles north of b'ham
Keep the faith!!!!

Joseph, if this thread ever gets back on track, PM me and let me know. I don't have time to waste on useless posts that are totally off topic.

Thanks,
