If you go back through the threads, you'll find that ANY negative comments about the NIV family of Bibles angers rippon as much as if you'd just slapped his mother! He has a very weird obsession with the NIV Bible. One would think he owns stock in the company that publishes them!

Gues that would mean we have KJVO and NIVO here represented!

Y, you said nothing wrong. Many people did not like the gender inclusiveness of the NIV. That is not a secret. You are entitled to your opinion as well as anyone else. I saw no lying.

A new movement: follow the two streams of scripture since the originals. The best copies did not go through the Vatican. Perhaps this is why those who translated the TR into the common vernacular were persecuted to death.

Curiously: the common language of the Romans, including the military, was Greek, not Latin.

The biggest problem with the various "versions" is the continuity between the pulpit, the screen and the book. It creates confusion and lack of concentration.

Even so, come Lord Jesus.

Hummmm...stock in the company???? Wouldn't "the company" be Ruppert Murdock...who also owns Fox News and a host of pornographic holdings? Imagine that...a guy like him OWNING the copyright for a book that is purported to be the Word of God? Say it ain't so! Last I heard he does indeed own the copyright on the NIV. I don't think I'd be interested in THAT stock....or in buying ANYTHING that would put money in THAT guy's pocket....if given the choice.

Interesting..............

You've just touched on a piece of what I was hoping that others would consider in my thread... Suppose.... What would happen?

Instead of widening focus to look at all aspects of God's word in this sinful world, it seems that some want my premise to be confined to yet another narrow beam of beat a dead horse KJB debate.

Hmmm...imagine King James I of England--a flaming homosexual with at least three lovers that we know of judging by his love letters to them--commissioning the King James Holy Bible and owning the copyright on it for 100 years? Scandalous!

I've heard this before but have never found any proof of it. Do you have a link to a reliable source for this?

That is just rumour...not proven

That is an oft-repeated rumour....but I have never actually SEEN or READ those letters. I know the anti-KJV crowd just loves that one...that would also put them in agreement with the radical pro-Gay crowd as well. I certainly don't give them ANY credence at all. If you can document or justify your claim....post the letters for all here to see. Better yet...may I humbly suggest that you not be quick to buy into the claims of the pro-gay/anti-KJV crowd and step "InTheLight"? Then you could say that you have a truly error-free infallible Bible!

. It was also rumoured that he was homosexual and preyed upon the young boys brought to service at court. This caricature, which has long dominated the popular view of James I, was largely the work of disappointed English office seekers whose pique clouded their observations and the judgments of generations of historians.

It's the truth that you have lied. Not once have you offered any defense, validation, evidence, proof. you have done your best to avoid, escape, dodge and evade. This very thread you have started is a sure sign that you are in avoidance-mode.You have tried to pin your slander on others which is cowardly. You have not offered even one example of your reckless assertion.
