So what are your criteria to determine if a church is KJVO?I have not been able to find objective evidence for the number of IFB churches that are not KJVO or KJVP. It is clear that IFB church members deny that the majority of IBF churches are KJVO. However, it seems more than likely that the vast majority of IFB churches are KJVO in that that is the only version used. They just do not make a big deal of it and cloud the issue by saying they are not Ruckermen, and believe people can be saved based on other translations. But whether is means other non-English translations is left a little vague.
So what are your criteria to determine if a church is KJVO?
Is that an "any," "some," or "all" list?1. Do they prefer the KJV over and against the NKJV? If yes, that is consistent with being a KJV only church.
2. Do they assert God fulfilled the promise of Psalm 12:6-7 with the KJV? If yes, that is consistent with being a KJV only church.
3. Do they claim the KJV is the inerrant word of God vice the original autographs, i.e. the Ruckerman heresy? If so, that is consistent with a KJV only church.
4. Do they admit to mistakes and corruptions in the KJV? If not, that is consistent with being a KJVO church.
5. Do they claim the TR presents or more closely presents the Word of God, over and against the Majority Text or Critical Text? If so, that is consistent with a KJV only church.
That's just silly.I don't know if the guy is an IFB or not but I heard one guy say that if foreigners wanted to read God's Word then they needed to learn how to read English so they could read the KJV.
That's just silly.
What is New Testament only? Are you saying you dont study the old testament & you dont see linkage between old & new?

MOST of the IBF would probably fall under KJV preferred, as the best English version...
Vocal minority KJVO,and those would see the KJV as being the preserved/inspired word of God, attributing to it the qualities we see the originals only having!
Hi Don, I provided the criteria I use. You did not say whether you agreed with all of them, some of them or none of them. Cat got your tongue?
Don said:re your criteria all required to qualify as a KJVOnly church? Or any combination? Or any one of them automatically identifies a church as KJVOnly? Or is there any one or two that automatically qualify, while the others are merely indicative?
He's asking you to refine your question. So, he can better answer you.Don, I missed it, which ones do your agree with?

Me, I belong to what many here consider an IFB church. Our pastor has no problems using the NASB in the pulpit without comment. Our bookstore stocks the KJV, NASB, and the NJKV. But, we have KJV bibles in the pew racks along side the hymnals for visitors. Now, do we fit your criteria for a KJVO church?
Do you have a link that provides objective evidence of the distribution of KJVO IFB churches? Anyone can speculate.
As I said, based on several posts, it appears most IFB churches use the KJV to the exclusion of all other translations, but try to avoid the baggage ladened label of KJV onlyism.
