Well you want the believe that you are saved before you have faith but the bible just will not agree with you, so I will just stick with the bible. I also find it strange that you think God has to give you faith although He requires us to have faith before we are saved.
Why would you think some kind of human generated “hope-so” is what is perfect, for nothing imperfect will be granted the heavenly eternity?
Do you agree that the Scripture teach these basic principles?
- Faith comes by hearing and hearing comes by the Word of God. If folks don’t hear the word of God, then they have no saving faith, for again faith comes and is not therefore innate in humankind, such faith comes by hearing, which is not the human intellectual but that which comes with understanding and such hearing is by the word of God.
- There is no Scripture support for some human desired prevenient Grace, nor is there Scripture support for human will acquiring salvation. The human will cannot gain that which is perfect.
- That the expression of both the need (desire) for salvation and the confession of salvation is the result of the word already in the heart and mouth. Such was evidenced in the jailor, the thief, the eunuch, Paul and Peter.
- That humans have no innate interest or ability to be unshackled from sin as evidenced in the numerous Scriptures expressing the willing blindness, willing rebellion, willing mockery of righteousness, willing rejection of the Scripture teaching.
- Humans have the ability to choose from what the world offers both that which is good and harmful; however, every “good and perfect” gift comes from the Father and bestowed upon those of His purpose and design.
