I was making a subtle point. We did not treat them as wars the same way we treated American Civil, WWI & 2.

I know. The quotation marks told me you were being facetious.

But the politicians that undermined all those military efforts used those terms all the time. They were playing semantic games.

The American people are tired of the liberal talking points. No one believes war is peace, freedom is slavery, or ignorance is strength. We are in an endless war against terrorism unless we can somehow contain Islam, the source of modern terrorism worldwide. We have a legal system in place to protect human rights. The GOP has always said that Russia is an evil empire--it was Obama and the Democrats who laughed at Romney for saying that. It was Obama who moved Churchill's bust and who hated the UK and Trump who is seeking to re-establish our historic special relationship with the UK. Germany is a headache for not paying their fair share of their NATO bill while bullying Greece to do whatever Germany says. Of course people need healthcare in spite of what you say but they do not need Castrocare or Obamacare but free market care with regulation.

There is no attempt to scale back Medicaid but an attempt to stop the Obama expansion of Medicaid that was installed to bolster Obamacare, a horribly expensive program that levied fines for attempts to escape the high "taxes" of Obamacare. We do not need to soak the rich and install confiscatory taxes like some Latin American dictatorship. Obama left us with a hollow military and a navy smaller than during the Great Depression, so yes we do need military spending to protect ourselves and to make up for the slack left by our deadbeat European allies.

Medicaid cuts would be done both under the GOP bill to replace Obamacare and in addition under Trump's proposed budget. Medicaid is the primary payer for long-term care for seniors and people with disabilities. Six in 10 nursing home residents are covered by Medicaid. I suppose you believe it's communist to keep a 95 year old woman with severe Alzheimer's (which my aunt was) safe and supported by medical care. I call it the Christ-like thing to do.

Trump budget: $800 billion in Medicaid cuts
Donald Trump budget: $800 billion in Medicaid cuts - CNNPolitics.com

Donald Trump's budget that is expected to be unveiled on Tuesday will include $800 billion in cuts to Medicaid -- a move that underscores the President's resolve to significantly downsize the federal program even as Republican lawmakers are clashing over the issue in Congress.

The House legislation to dismantle the Affordable Care Act -- President Barack Obama's landmark health care law also known as Obamacare -- would significantly curtail federal support for Medicaid.

Under that bill, in 2020, states that expanded the program would no longer receive enhanced funding to cover low-income adults, while states that did not expand previously would not be able to do so, starting immediately. Some 11 million adults have gained coverage under Medicaid expansion.
Also, the bill would reduce federal funding for the entire Medicaid program, which covers more than 70 million low-income children, adults, disabled Americans and the elderly. States would either receive a set amount of funding per enrollee, known as a per capita grant, or fixed funding in the form of a block grant.
The GOP bill would slash federal support of Medicaid by 25% by 2026, compared to current law, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

The Obama administration expanded Medicaid expenditures, and the current administration wants to trim it back.

Washington Examiner
"Immigrants and their U.S.-born children make up more than 40 percent of new Medicaid recipients at a cost of $4.6 billion, according to analysis of government data.

"The Center for Immigration Studies released a report early Thursday that found both legal and illegal immigrants and their minor children made up 42 percent of Medicaid growth from 2011 to last year.

“The high rate and significant growth in Medicaid associated with immigrants is mainly the result of a legal immigration system that admits large numbers of immigrants with relatively low-levels of education, many of whom end up poor and uninsured,” the report says."

FTW, no one has ever spoken against medical welfare on this board. The dispute is about putting the federal government in the decision of medical allotment for everyone, as is done in places such as Cuba, Russia, 1930s Italy and Germany, etc. The current situation in England is an example of too much government. America has never fined people for not having insurance until Obama and his high taxes, high premiums, and high deductibles, giving America the most expensive medicine ever. Obama even took away peoples' family doctors just for Democrat power and cruelty.
