No actually it's very important. That's why I teach it to my kids and that is why I will be debating that very topin in October in public forum. I just don't have time to waste on your anti-catholic manuevering and distortions at this time. Especially since I believe prayer and a good excercism is the only way to get through to you.Originally posted by Singer:
I would use to defend the papacy if I had copious
amounts of spare time to waste conversing with you.
God said to go to the uttermost parts of the earth and spread the gospel.
Either you're getting lax on your obedience, Thes, or YOUR gospel
isn't very important !!![]()

[qb] Singers posts aren't childish!
The problem is that some of you guys are picking and picking all the Bible to bits. It's only an interpretation, after all. And the trouble is, some people get so into burying their mose into topic, that they forget the sun is shining and the flowers are blooming.
Singer is only lightening the scene up and letting some sun shine in.

Glorious,
I know that you like to be the better than thou bright and chipper one on these boards. If Mr. Singer weren't bashing Catholicism day in and day out to the exclusion of just about everyone else, I would agree. He's a viper dear.
By the way, your lacksidasical attitude toward the message God is trying to convey and the truth to all mankind has been duly noted.
"It's only an interpretation, after all."
This is the end result of Sola Scriptura.
Hey did you know that the word interprutation is only used once with regard to scripture. If individual interprutation is so important why didn't God say more about it? Let's check out what he did say.
2 Peter 1:20
But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation,
ME????? Innocent little Glorious has been attacked!!!!!
I showed my husband and we had a real laugh.
What fun... now I have the choice to either enter the scrum and muddy up or stay out and keep my nose clean!
Hmmmmmm, which one shall it be?
Feet tapping....
OK I like to be the "better than thou" one here????? Hahaha Thats your INTERPRETATION, my darling!
Whats more, did you ever hear the story about the group of dogs fighting?
Someone threw a rock in amongst them to stop them and suddenly one dog only was squealing in pain.
Which dog was it?
I suppose, Mr Thesso, that I see things on some of these discussions from a height. When you are down in the pit, heads locked and feet kicking, it's often hard to know what the big picture is.
Thats all.
If you choose to see me as a "better than you person", then thats fine!!!![]()
Oh, so I have a "lacksidasical attitude toward the message God is trying to convey and the truth to all mankind "?????
I see we have a personal attack here. Hmmmm, are you a teacher? Do you have children? Do you say things like that to the children? Saying things like that to them will bring resentment, and low self esteem!!
Perhaps reworded, and in such a way as to gain more friends**, and help mankind in a sweeter manner, you might say:
"Glorious, I guess there is a real message to mankind there in the Bible. I wonder how we could reinforce this in ourselves and in others, without making it too light?"
There! I wouldn't and simply COULDN'T be offended or feel "put down" with a darling little phrase like that!
**My phrase, "Gaining more friends" may bring a scornful feeling to you, as you probably say Jesus didn't preach his message to gain friends, but to save souls!
However, people will listen to us more if we have an attitude of humility and sweetness. Thats all I mean here
Have a sweet day!![]()
Glorious!!
Great post Brian!Originally posted by Briguy:
I think we can debate and stay within the following guidlines, especially if we desire knowledge.
2 Peter 1
2: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3: According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
5: And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6: And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7: And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8: For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9: But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
These verses should speak directly to our hearts.
In Christ,
Brian

(emphasis mine)And yes, I know that the Holy Spirit works outside of the Catholic Church. Otherwise those who came to it would be able to claim part of their salvation for themselves. Mosquitoes do have a difficult time getting much right when it comes to teaching about scripture however.
