If you men are going to start wearing dresses, then you are going to have to start putting a little "sugar" in your walk.

The communists did take over America but that is fodder for another thread.

We've already had this discussion Tiny. For your edification, I will retract the word Laodicean and will ask that lukewarm be used instead.

I know, my brother and sisters, that we have pounded this topic into the ground, but.....

......Brother Bob, if a woman wearing modest dress put a little "sugar" in her walk, then wouldn't she still be immodest??

    (Oh, I am getting dizzy!)

If I thought that it would be edifying and not used against me, I would be glad to do so. However, there is far too much attacking of the messenger that goes on on this board and I would prefer we keep it to doctrinal discussion based on scripture.

Can someone please tell me what happened to Herb Evans? I am just curious. I don't want to become "banned", and, since I seem to be in agreement with Brother Herb on many subjects, I need to know what line he crossed.

    Blammo;
I don't think it was his theology or determination to push his point. I think it is because he pretty often threw remarks at the moderators, but not sure. It just my opinion. ;)

Wow, it goes on and on. What I'm finding is that there is indeed a growing number of men who desire to be unshackled from the dress of their sex and free to let it hang out in a skirt. But I'm sure you have a good scriptural reason why they shouldn't do it.

You know, I've noticed here on the BB and in real life, those who are most vocal on some issues are those who have struggled with that area in their life. Rufus - I can see why you would have some strong feelings about this subject now having a glimpse into your past and I pray that God will continue to protect your heart and mind. I don't think that the issue is necessarily a woman dressed in nice slacks or something like that but more 'immodest' dress - and the best way to react to 'some' is to go after it 'all'. But understand that God doens't call women to wear dresses only - just as He doesn't call men to wear only suits. We ARE, however, to be watchful that we don't cause our brother to stumble (not every single brother, mind you since some will stumble just by looking at a woman), and I pray that I will continue to keep that in mind when I purchase clothing and when I dress.

Romans 14:21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.

What I have to laugh at in those links with men in skirts is the fact that they say skirts are "sexy" (some are, but not the reason I would wear one), comfortable (ummm - yeah - I hope they're wearing panty hose too - just to make them even more "comfy") and look great (umm - I don't want to see a man's hairy legs in a skirt, thank you very much). I honestly don't think it will be the norm - NONE of the men I know - saved or unsaved - would be caught dead in a skirt!! LOL!

I'm sure there was a time when nobody knew a woman that would be caught dead in pants. But the church just follows the world. Whatever you see out there, eventually you will see in here.

And I did not accuse you of saying you lost sleep over it. Go back and read what I said.
You never thought about it, yet, you have come to this conclusion so quickly? You probably should take some more time to think about it
Men's dresses? That is an oxymoron. I can't imagine such a thing. In 1865, President Lincoln was shot while wearing a black suit which was tailored by Brookes Brothers. Today, 141 years later, that suit is still a best-seller for Brookes Brothers. If the cultural style for men has changed that little in 141 years, I don't expect to see mainstream American culture change to dresses for men in my lifetime, my son's, my grandson's, or ever!
You plan to be pregnant for 10 years and you're worried about other men wearing dresses?!?!

Yes it is but thanks for showing us the level of thinking that is going on on this thread.

    And James Newman
No one on this thread is defending cross-dressing. The scriptures clearly speak against it. But, frankly, I think that your fears that American society is being taken over by sissies is absurd. There has always been an element of effiminate men in any society. It is less than 10 percent; far less, in fact. Always has been. Always will be. As long as the vast majority of men have testosterone in the blood it always will be. God made men that way.

What was the percentage of effeminate men in Sodom?

    Genesis 19:4-5
4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:
5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.

And where is cross-dressing outlawed in the bible?

Aren't they called robes? We see plenty of Muslims in those over here. Personally I think we should all wear the shalwar kameez, defintely the most modest form of clothing there is.

Well, when this thread gets tired, perhaps you will demonstrate to me what plank of the communist manifesto has not been implemented in America.

It is likely safe to say that all would agree about the characteristics of a male cross-dresser. It would be some semblance of a man wearing a dress, and/or high heels, and/or ear rings, etc.

Those who agree with the OP likely have a similar definition of what a female cross-dresser would consist of. It would be some semblance of wearing pants, and/or ties etc. It does not sound as though you would agree with this defintion thus, what would you describe as being the characteristics of a female cross-dresser?
