It is essentially the same as TR:MP. Governors make the call. He has no authority for a mandate.

Jesus teaches that we should love our neighbor as ourselves, and moreover, we should love them as God loves them.
Wearing a mask protects your neighbor.
Jesus asked you a long time ago to do good for your neighbor, so wearing a mask is not an option if you are going to be a faithful disciple of Jesus.
Your rebellion against simple science and love of neighbor is your bigger problem. Digging in your heels because someone you don’t like REQUESTS a common sense measure is the height of irrationality and reveals a spiritual condition of hard-hearted immaturity.

The science does not support mask wearing actually. There have been MANY studies that say masks are not effective. We also see this in places that do have mandates the virus is still surging. Masks do nothing. So you can stop the stupid love your neighbor argument because it is invalid. Typical liberal.
The mask mandate is just a compliance tactic. What’s even worse is having little children wear them all day at school. It is teaching fear. That is all. It has been far too long already. Flatten the curve was 8 long months ago. Fearless people who work in the hospitals are saying they haven’t had a covid case, a real covid case, since early spring. Wearing masks dehumanizes. It shutters people away from other people. It is not healthy in any way, shape, or form.

I've seen the experts on TV counteracting each other re: claims of mask efficiency. AND, since the ORIGINAL requirement was to "flatten the curve", but the fervent drive to continue wearing masks continues, I have come to the conclusion that it is NOW a power move by the dem dictators to see just how far they can compel the sheeple to follow their insane demands; legal or not!
Also, why did wearing a mask years ago "protect" the wearer, but today it protects everybody else??
There are too many inconsistencies for me to take this "mandate" as serious from a medical standpoint

Interesting. We have had a lot if COVID cases (real cases). A friend died of COVID last week.
But I know areas are different and I'm with you about not being controlled by fear. I don't mind masks because it really does not matter to me.
Studies show that masks are effective. We learned this back in 1918, and it has been tested in pandemics throughout the world for more than 100 years.
So you now admit the virus is surging.
I know that in my part of Texas, the mask ordinance is widely ignored because too many people see it as a political statement to support the President, who stated at the very beginning that HE wasn’t going to wear a mask. Of course, he got COVID-19 and it has been raging through the White House staff. It has also been surging through his rallies. Herman Cain almost certainly caught it at Trump’s Tulsa rally and it killed him a month later.
Moreover, the virus is surging because children are in schools and college students are largely ignoring rules about gatherings. I live close to a university, and there are raging parties every weekend in the neighborhood.
False. Reality is not concerned with you belief system. Moreover, your choices in this actually affect others more than they affect yourself. The mask is to protect others from you unintentionally infecting them. It catches and diffuses the virus-bearing water vapor that is normally ejected from your nose and mouth. When someone else wears a mask, they are actually protecting you, not themselves.
Is loving one’s neighbor stupid or do you just think it is stupid when you are asked to make a tiny sacrifice for the benefit of someone else? Not wearing a mask is a clear signal that you don’t care about someone else.

I'd challenge you on this (to an extent).
We know masks are effective in preventing the spread of respiratory viruses (which is why I had a box of masks before COVID...son had the flu). But they are effective in preventing the spread, not of protecting the wearer.
I have not seen any evidence that COVID spreads much differently than the flu. In fact, it is often compared to the flu.
I do understand masks are not protective measures. Also there are issues wearing them for extended periods (germ sponges).
We still need to flatten the curve because we are spiking again.
I know quite a few doctors, nurses, and medical professionals. They see real COVID cases every day. And friend of mine died from COVID-19 early on. I’ve had a close friend in the hospital with COVID pneumonia a little over a month ago and she’s recovering very slowly. I’ve also know more than a dozen people who have had a moderate case of COVID-19 over the past three months. Half of my office is in quarantine at the moment. My nephew had a moderate case of it and my brother-in-law (nephew’s father) was hospitalized because of dangerous blood clots forming throughout his body, likely caused from a mild case of COVID-19.

So does having to quarantine, but because people won’t wear masks, I won’t be able to see any of my extended family this holiday season, nor do I get to attend church in person.
If everyone would wear a mask, we could get this thing under control.
Neither is disease.

It's an invalid argument. If people are scared tell them to stay home. But don't infringe on the freedom of everyone else.
