    I believe it is better to just accept that what you believe is not what I believe. You make no sense when I read your posts.

    @JonC

    Perhaps @Van would explain how his soteriology is not a 'potential' redemption. It sounds to me like he's saying (for a while now) one puts their faith in Christ and God may or may not credit that faith as righteousness.

    So we agree, God alone saves individuals of His choice, and nothing "in or about" the individual "merits" His gracious salvation.
    We do not agree, apparently (reading between the lines) as to our conditional election per 2 Thessalonians 2:13.

    Jesus paid the "ransom" 1 Timothy 2:6, not a potential ransom.
    Face it, your objection is the denial of 2 Thessalonians 2:13 which says God chooses individuals for salvation through faith in the truth, a conditional election.

    Note this poster changes from potential ransom to potential redemption. Then does not address that Christ's death did not redeem everyone but was a ransom for all.

    They can run, but they cannot hide.

    More running from the truth. First is posts disinformation (i.e. potential ransom) then he avoids 'does not address that Christ's death did not redeem everyone but was a ransom for all.."

    Again the elephant in the room is the avoidance of addressing that 2 Thessalonians 2:13 clearly teaches our conditional election for salvation.

    Answer this question @Van:

    If one puts their trust in Christ, is there any question that God will keep His promise and count that faith as righteousness?

    Will we get still another drive by change the subject question or will this poster provide an answer? Inquiring minds want to know...

    If all are ransomed, but only some redeemed, is that not "potential redemption?"

    YOU are the one that's dodging the questions Van. Explain your soteriology.

    This is not even the issue. You're making a mountain out of a mole hill in order to keep from explaining yourself. What are you afraid of?

    It doesn't matter whether you've the guts to answer now or not. You've indicated in other threads that God may or may not credit one's faith as righteousness, you'll do it again.
