All of what? World of what? What is the exegetical presumption for taking such terms to mean "all people without exception?"Originally posted by Me4Him:
As "JUDGE", God only "ADMINSTER" the law, as the law requires.
All are guilty, but Jesus died for "ALL", (sin whole world), so "WHOSOEVER WILL"...MIGHT BE... free from the law of "death for sin".
a. The law forbids favoritism. It does not prohibit God from treating persons unequally. In fact, in Deut. 7, God tells Israel why He chose them. He chose them not for their wealth, faithfulness, or faith, but because He loved them and He had a covenant with the Patriarchs to make them a people.Originally posted by Me4Him:
First and foremost, God obeys his law, for a "JUDGE" to offer a "PARDON" to some, but not all, then condemning those from which it was with held, is an "INJUSTICE" no "LEGAL" precedings would sanction.
We're "JUDGED" by the law, (Unbelief) or absents of the law, (Belief) God only administer the law as the law requires, anything less is an "INJUSTICE", according to the law.
Ac 17:31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; (Law or no law, Belief/unbelief)
And the "JUDGE" will enforce the law, even "AGAINST" his "personal feelings" that "none should perish", that's "JUSTICE", according to law.
I suppose "ignorance of the law" is why God is accused of operating a "kangaroo Court".
1. God is sovereign; man isn't
2. Man is fallen, completely unable to do any good in God's eyes and damned to hell
3. God the Father selects certain damned-to-hell individuals to be the recipients of His unmerited grace
4. God the Son actually atones for those selected ones' sins, allowing them to be justified
5. God the Spirit works, woos, and regenerates the hearts of those selected ones so that they will repent, believe the Gospel and call on Christ
6. The triune Godhead keeps for all eternity those selected ones who received God's grace.
"WOO-WOO-WOO! Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk...Hey Moe!"Originally posted by Servent:
I agree with Dr. Bob on all points but the wooing, I believe the spirit draws us and regenerates us, woo sounds spooky.
For me it is this. I do not believe a sinner would, nor could, come to God without God first doing a work in the sinner. A man confessing Christ as Lord is the result of an already done work of God in the man not of a man coming to God of his own free-will. His "free-will" would never make such a choice. This leads me to "calvinism".If there is one thing that you can point to that makes you agree with one or the other, what is it?
That's exactly what "perseverance of the saints", the P in the TULIP, means.Originally posted by drfuss:

For practical purposes, A person must be trusting Christ only as Savior when they die to go to heaven. (Not sure about the extreme Calvinists belief).
I agree with Dr. Bob's 6 points except for his use of the word "woo". I think the word "compel" would be more appropriate.Originally posted by Dr. Bob:

The first point was always "understood" and agreed to, but now it must be spelled out since so many have elevated man and his will above God.

I agree. I will stand with God's word which tells us:Originally posted by Helen:
I'm neither and refuse to be labeled as either. I simply try to believe what the Bible says and not worry about men's categories and interpretations.
How's that for being a snot?
