Can a Bible translation be a work of the Devil??

Another salvation?I know people who were saved throught the NWT. .
Are you saying that they are saved by accepting "another" Jesus Christ?

I would have no problem sharing the gospel using the New World Translation. It is a terrible agenda driven translation, but the gospel is there.

Sometimes we give Satan too much credit for that which fallen man does on his own.
John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
All lies originate with Satan. I think you underestimate your enemy.

My biggest enemy is me, my flesh. I mess things up pretty well myself without Satan's help.
Do you think Satan sits around all day twiddling his thumbs?

Nope. They actually were saved in reading the Scriptures. There's enough true even in the NWT that they read the Gospel and were saved. Of course they did not get sucked into the JW cult but instead quickly found good Bible teaching churches.
It was just that the NWT was the only Bible they had.This is starting to get off of the point of the OP- lets get back to it.
Assuming as Amy does that Satan was the moving force behind the NWT, how does one account for the fact that the Gospel, in fact IS found in it? I have personally witnessed a person led to the Lord via a NWT. If indeed Satan was behind it, he must have done a lousy job.
No. As I said in an earlier post, the most effective lie is the one that is mixed with truth.
I don't know about that. Sometimes outright lies can be pretty persuasive tools.
Ok then, when does an error in a translation amount to a lie? And how many "lies" should we allow in a translation before we determine it is from the Devil?
Then there is this- the KJV has "lies" in it also, yet it remains the Word of God, does it not?

Examples of lies in the KJV (or any accurate Bible text) would be King Herod lying to the magi about wanting to worship the Christ babe, Peter's three denials, Satan's "thou shalt not surely die", etc.

I know what I consider a "valid" version. I do not know what your definition is.
I think of you refer back to the OP you will know what I think of the NWT. But, again- SL is the one who made the statements referred to in the OP, and he was not speaking of the NWT when he made those statements.
