Ok, apparently you do not see the difference between blessing a same s:x couple and blessing a hammer.

Of course it’s going to be “misused”. Your Pope intended it to be “misused” which is why the language is ambiguous and causing confusion.

Your Pope is moving the Catholic Church to accept same s:x marriage and this is just another step in the process.

I am glad some in the RCC see this for what it is and are resisting this Pope and are in open rebellion against this statement.

    peace to you

Totally agree! What’s more, they represent themselves as Gods true and only real church… how arrogant is that… so if you are a Protestant you are guaranteed of going to either hell, purgatory or limbo where you will have to atone for your sins… in this case the sin of disbelief (in their handpicked Roman Catholic Church). Then Catholics can pray for you to be released from your not heaven place. You Protestants did consciously select the alternative church which is not Catholicism so you deserve the punishment. See how that goes!

BTW Jon,do you do any fly fishing? Since I’m now retiring, I’m planning on spending time back in doing it. I stopped because NJ has become so polluted you can no longer eat any fish catch. I want to start out with trout and then graduate to river salmon… that gives me peace. So does Upland pheasant and another bird hunting. I’ve already shined up my trusty Ithaca 12 gauge shotgun and want to get a black lab to train to retrieve. The boxer dog is reserved for chasing porch pirates and the mailman.

It’s not arrogant, it’s simply a statement of fact. Don’t you believe your church is true?

No. Catholics believe Jesus is alone your judge.

Catholics are the only ones praying for the souls in purgatory. Many people are ignorant of it, but they will believe it when they are blessed enough to get there.

Purgatory is basically a construct of the RCC. Nobody today believes it except you.

Well, I believe in Purgatory. “But nothing unclean shall enter [heaven]” (Rev. 21:27). Hab. 1:13 says, “You [God]… are of purer eyes than to behold evil and cannot look on wrong…” How many of us will be perfectly sanctified at the time of our deaths? I dare say most of us will be in need of further purification in order to enter the gates of heaven after we die.

So you think that the work Christ did on the cross was not sufficient to cover the sins of man, you need us flawed humans to give man that extra push to get them into heaven. It's not a biblical concept but when did that ever stop the RCC from coming up with a money making idea.
According to RCC teaching ones soul has already been justified at and by baptism but they must have a different meaning for justified because those souls must still endure the temporary punishment for its sins in purgatory.

This is the RCC doctrine as stated by the Council of Trent:
If anyone should say that after the reception of the grace of justification, the guilt is so remitted to the penitent sinner, and the penalty of eternal punishment destroyed, that no temporal punishment remains to be paid, either in this world, or in the future, before the access to the kingdom can be open, let him be accursed (Sec. VI).

Purgatory therefore is not merely purifying-it is penal as well.

Yes, like removing tar and feathers purifying, it feels like punishment, but it has to happen.

Purgatory is real, that is why it is far better to make restitution here.

The majority of Christianity today believes in purgatory and for 2000 years. Protestants and Baptist’s in Purgatory believe in Purgatory.

You must be new to Catholics then. This was a doctrine taught by the RCC during my time in the RCC…so btw was Original Sin. The nuns stressed both. Look it up. My point which you just pointed out is RC doctrines they come and they go, especially with Pope Frank and his ever present progressive agenda.

Has he chloroformed the Latin mass yet?

Still waiting for you to provide some biblical support for your false claims. But since you can not do that it just shows how vapid your claims are.

Origen already gave you the scriptural support. That’s how he understood the 1 Corinthians passages.

“For if on the foundation of Christ you have built not only gold and silver and precious stones (1 Cor.,3); but also wood and hay and stubble, what do you expect when the soul shall be separated from the body? Would you enter into heaven with your wood and hay and stubble and thus defile the kingdom of God; or on account of these hindrances would you remain without and receive no reward for your gold and silver and precious stones; neither is this just. It remains then that you be committed to the fire which will burn the light materials; for our God to those who can comprehend heavenly things is called a cleansing fire. But this fire consumes not the creature, but what the creature has himself built, wood, and hay and stubble. It is manifest that the fire destroys the wood of our transgressions and then returns to us the reward of our great works.” Origen, Homilies on Jeremias, PG 13:445, 448 ( A.D. 244).

I’ve found it’s useless giving a private interpreter scripture quotes anyway, because they either ignore them, or they put their own erroneous interpretation on it. They only interpret scripture by “ what it means to me “, they can and have put any meaning they want from scripture. Still do, sadly.
    That’s been my experience.

What, you want to use a man to support your view. Where is the biblical text to support your view.

I have already shown you that Origen is not someone you should hang your hat on form support. He had a number of errant views and the fact you use him as support for the RCC idea of "prugatory," is telling. That you would use Origen just shows how desperate the RCC is to find any support for their errant view.
For him, {Origen} all souls, including the devil himself, will eventually achieve salvation, even if it takes innumerable ages to do so.

I wish I was, it’s a real place of suffering. My only agenda is not to go there and either get people out of there, or warn them so they don’t go there.

Whilst sins may be forgiven, restitution is exacting on the other side, and far harsher.

That’s why in scripture 1 Cor. we are told to settle quickly with our opponent, not wait till it is brought before the judge.
Those reading this scripture in the ancient meaning of the Apostles know it’s about purgatory. Those ignorant of Apostolic Tradition interpreting what the “ words mean to me “ remain ignorant of what they actually mean.

Purgatory is a prison a man can be released from, unlike hell, which is eternal. But he must pay restitution down to the last penny before he is released, and only till the last penny is paid.
He is saved, but only as through fire.
That fire is real, but far beyond fire here.

There are people in the fire, people in the smoke and people in the fog, there is different levels of purgatory.

Pay back or make restitution to anyone you have wronged.

Money, goods, whatever. Settle out of court whilst you are still in this world. What you settle with your opponent here, is merely approved and held good by the judge. He is glad not to have to impose restitution.

If you have withheld wages, embezzled money that has destroyed many retirements, lives and families, you can be forgiven, but restitution must be made.

God does not forget anything, no one gets away with anything.

“The wages that you have [fraudulently] withheld from the laborers who have mowed your fields are crying out [against you for vengeance]; and the cries of the harvesters have come to the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth. “

If you are ripped off in this world and even if you didn’t know it, God knows it and God cares about it.

It is right and just you settle quickly here, whilst people are still suffering and living diminished lives because of your actions.
You can wait till their lives are over and yours, then you will make restitution the hardest way there is in Purgatory, till the last penny is paid.

It was the Catholic Church that corrected Origen on his errant views, but Purgatory wasn’t one of them.

Purgatory was believed in, people knew it exists.

“For to adulterers even a time of repentance is granted by us, and peace is given. Yet virginity is not therefore deficient in the Church, nor does the glorious design of continence languish through the sins of others. The Church, crowned with so many virgins, flourishes; and chastity and modesty preserve the tenor of their glory. Nor is the vigour of continence broken down because repentance and pardon are facilitated to the adulterer. It is one thing to stand for pardon, another thing to attain to glory: it is one thing, when cast into prison, not to go out thence until one has paid the uttermost farthing; another thing at once to receive the wages of faith and courage. It is one thing, tortured by long suffering for sins, to be cleansed and long purged by fire; another to have purged all sins by suffering. It is one thing, in fine, to be in suspense till the sentence of God at the day of judgment; another to be at once crowned by the Lord.” Cyprian, To Antonianus, Epistle 51 (55):20 (A.D. 253).

“When he has quitted his body and the difference between virtue and vice is known he cannot approach God till the purging fire shall have cleansed the stains with which his soul was infested. That same fire in others will cancel the corruption of matter, and the propensity to evil.” Gregory of Nyssa, Sermon on the Dead, PG 13:445,448 (ante A.D. 394).

The sin being forgiven the stain of it remains, the stain being restitution, the damages incurred.

Leave the money on the bar after the fight for damages, or wait till you are brought before the judge.
