Nice attempt to deflect but you're well aware that I didn't say any such thing.

Im not deflecting anything....when & if you have kids & grandkids you will have to prepare them for "the World" & they will not be sheltered. My son works in a garage & there is some pretty foul language. Sometimes he comes home with it. I cant police it because he is over 21 but when he uses it I always tell him, "Would you say those words in front of your own kids" ....that gets him thinking. He already knows that the 3rd commandment breaking is a severe insult to the Lord & forbidden (around me).

The only true obscenity ...the one we are commanded to abstain from is the 3rd commandment..."Thou SHALL NOT take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.

And that might not be considered an obscenity like a vile filthy curse word or action (like your Big Bird Pic post)...but what that is is an abomination & a dishonor to the Lord.

How do you figure that to be the only true obscenity? Is this something Scripture says? Wouldn't violation of the 3rd of Ten be profane and not obscene?

Proverbs 10:32 observes:“The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked what is perverse.

We know what is obscene and why folks do it.

What does having kids/grandkids have to do with what you implied I said about losing salvation?

I understand folks being in the world being salted by the world and acting like the world.

OK, produce a list from scripture then.....now its my opinion against yours.

If it is not a 'bad word', why do you feel you can't use it around everyone? Your argument makes no sense.
I would except there are enough here that would jump on me, report my post, and have my expunged. And even then, I would only use it to convey a particular thought, and the intensity it conveys is rarely present in these discussions.

Produce a list of what? Obscenities? For what?
Do I also need to produce a list of sexual immoralities?

You know what obscenities are so there really is no need for anyone to try and justify the use of them.

Im sure you do...you even displayed it for us, right.

Where was your moralizing then Big Bird?

Nice try. but as I said last time you tried to justify something wrong by bringing up me posting an inappropriate picture of Big Bird shooting a bird, what I did was wrong and I can fully accept it as wrong.

You didn't see me try to moralize anything about the picture, but I'll forgive your failing memory.

Im touched by your concern for my advanced age ....LOL. Just remember, you also will have your time in the barrel.:tongue3:

The way in which I used it was not to offend nor was the person to whom I was speaking offended. It was used to effectively communicate that lack of veracity and valor in a person's views (in this case, I pointed out the chicken ****). No offense was taken. So your entire scenario is moot b/c you have completely missed what I have been saying.

Maybe I should simply qualify by saying I don't think the "s" word is a bad word. It is simply a stronger word than crap or poop or excrement/feces (greater to lesser).

The chicken***poop***(I know you used the word that rhymes with hit) word isn't a curse word, biblically speaking, imo. However, words like that can bother one of your fellow Brother(s) and/or Sister(s). It's like Apostle Paul wrote that if eating meat offends one of his brethern, he'd eat no meat. Saying the word chicken***poop*** instead of crap or baloney, may come back to haunt you in the future.

How bout "Crap" Willis....doesnt that have an obscene derivation.....or are you referring specifically to Thomas Crapper was a plumber who founded Thomas Crapper & Co in London. Contrary to widespread misconceptions, Crapper did not invent the flush toilet....or CRAPPER--Slang term for an late 19th century toilet fixture. During WWI soldiers oftern visited these toilets and called them crappers. Which is it willis...in any event "I am offended":tongue3:

Be careful

Lord willing, He'll return to carry us home before i get in a barrel. This north Ghanaian heat feels like I'm in a barrel.

I used to think as you....the barrel would be avoided by the rapture....I'm still waiting, and I have one foot in the barrel. I am beginning to think I was way too optimistic, and you may be writing the same thing in 40 years.

Ghana....what are you doing there?

Taking the Gospel to several unreached villages in which there are no Christians nor any knowledge of the Gospel.

Figure we got to start knocking off those 7000+ unreached groups at some point.

Lord when the power goes out here, it is stifling.100+ degrees at night with nothing to circulate any semblance of cool air. I tried to lay on the floor. The floor was like an oven. laying on the bed just makes everything wet. Yuck! But I imagine Jesus had to put up with some heat too. Experienced my first rain/sand storm last night. Thought I heard a train coming. Very violent storm that they say happen quite often. Hope another comes tonight. It really cooled it off and sent a cool breeze.
