    Good morning all,

Sorry I didn't check in yesterday, it was a very busy day.

I got my stitches out and when the Dr. handed me the mirror, I started singing, "I feel pretty, oh so pretty" and the nurse joined in.

Actually, I have quite a scar that could take up to one year to heal, but the main thing is the cancer is gone!

It is the 2nd malignant growth that I've had taken off in the past few years. I was referred to a female dermatologist to check out the rest of my body.

Maybe after the holidays. I would like to have a few months where I'm not 'recuperating' from something!

Shawna is cooking breakfast this morning and I already have Cabbage Rolls in the crockpot for supper, so it is going to be a GOOD day!

    Time for coffee,
    §ue

Morning all! It's a cloudy day here and I have almost no plans for today! My little one is in preschool right now, and we had our chimney cleaned. I also had him do our gutters since DH isn't allowed to do them anymore (he was cleaning gutters 2 years ago when he hit a yellow jacket's nest, they started stinging him on the eyes, he jumped up, lost his balance and fell to the cement patio below. He crushed his foot and ended up on crutches completely non weight bearing for 5 months, had 2 surgeries after being misdiagnosed and is now dealing with the permanent damage from that - so no more roof for him). Now we're set for the cold front that's due to come through on Friday. Friday night is going to be in the 30's!! Brrrr!! DEFINATE fire night. :D

So, today, I have to pick up my little one from preschool at 12:30, stop at the grocery store and pick up a few things and then we're home for the afternoon. I was going to try to horseback ride this afternoon but I didn't dress correctly yesterday when I rode and I just can't do it today (that's all I'm going to say in mixed company) :tongue3: So it's going to be quiet today! LOVE days like that!

We woke this morning to thunder, lightning and heavy rains......enough to even set the dog choir off to action.

It is supposed to rain right through to Sunday, and some areas will experience snow...Now isn't that a welcome sign!

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Hi!:wavey:

It's 84 in South GA right now. Our forecast for Friday night's low is 45. Makes me glad to live in the Deep South. In the summer, y'all sometimes make me wish we were farther North. :love2:

    Howdy Everyone!

Had myself a busy day today and am just now getting around to posting.

What I'm supposed to be doing is cooking supper so I can go to church tonight and leave all my sick folk behind with a clear conscience. :D

Got two migraines and Jenna has caught Annsni's kids cold. (gotta put the blame somewhere ;) )

Uh oh! I forgot T's karate uniform! I really gotta get going!

Sue, glad your stitches are gone!

Gayla, it's hot here to, but not quite 80. Keeps threatening to rain, but then the sun comes out. I think the weather man is confused! I believe cold air when I feel it. (says she who is wearing shorts and a sleeveless top)

Preacher, is BH allowed nuts again? The few pecans I'm going to get seem to be ready from the amount of squirrels I have in my yard! They are driving the dogs batty.

Okay, off to do what I'm supposed to be doing! :flower:

I will give you some cold air, Cindi!

I had to turn the furnace on today. It is cold and very windy. Leaves are flying everywhere and it is supposed to frost or freeze the next three nights and only get up to 40º during the daytime.

It's suppertime around here as soon as I pick Brent up from his Spanish lessons in about 10 minutes, then we will all go to church.

We are having our annual Youth Conference Friday night and all day Saturday. John Bishop and his wife from Triple§ Christian Ranch in Rosebud, AR will be holding services. Then he will preach in the revival starting Sunday. My kids went to his camp when THEY were young!

    Time to go...

:D Probably Jim, but in my case it's pretty much the truth!

Okay, Preacher, I'll see what I can save from the thieving wild squirrels. I'll have hickory nuts pretty soon too.

Sue, when the cold air was mentioned T said we'd have to turn the heat on. Problem is, everytime we have to switch back and forth between heat and air, something blows and the heat pump quits (or doesn't quit as the case may be). That leads to a hundred dollar bill I can't afford right now. So, I'm not minding the warm temps.

I don't know about ya'll, but I've been a roll today. I've cleaned house (I mean cleaned house), taken a kid to the doctor, sewn, run errands, cooked supper and gone to church for nearly 3 hours. You'd think I'd be tired, but for some reason I still have energy. And I don't know what to do with myself. It's really not fair to not have any daylight left and have a husband who for some reason thinks I should sit down.

I left a fresh apple pie on the counter for those who want a midnight snack.

Since most everyone is asleep by the time I post on here at night, this will be a good morning for you!

Today was interesting. I did great on two tests I was worried about. First grades of the quarter! Whoo hoo!

Then I stopped by to say hi to someone who works at the college and she let me know she had a contract sitting there and it was mine for the taking. So I'm taking it. My own days and hours. So I'm just doing five hours one day a week and keeping that door open.

Then I was able to ask some questions tonight at our bible study and got some answers. That's always a good thing! It's nice to know there's a safe place to ask stuff and get answers with no hostility, and that can be hard on certain topics!

So it was a pretty nice day that was much needed after the last few! If I could give God a flower for letting me have such a good day, I would. :flower:

    Good Morning Everybody,

It is 32 degrees here with Snow Flurries. I can't stand cold weather, I'm ready to move South.

I brought in Sausage and Potato Omlettes, and hot, homemade pecan rolls. Enjoy.

Sorry I wasn't here yesterday, but I was wrapping up details for my Wife's Sweetest Day Gift. We're leaving today to spend the weekend at the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island, in Michigan's UP. We spent our honeymoon there, and I thought it would be nice to recreate it. My Wife is going to a day spa today. She thinks that is her gift, I hope she's surprised when she gets home and I spring the news.

I think I have her fooled, everything is arranged, and paid for. We'll see in a few hours. Have to take my Wife to the day spa- She's so excited about her gift. *WINK* *WINK*

I'll see everybody again sometime Monday.:type:

    Have a good time, Rob!

    Good morning all,

It is 34º this morning and we have a 'freeze warning' in effect for early tomorrow morning with 30mph winds. It's going to be lovely - NOT! I'm not ready for winter yet!

I woke up with a sore throat, stuffy nose, and a headache this morning. I must have gotten something at church last night because I haven't been anyplace else.

Well, I'm off to the grocery store, then back home to homeschool. Brent is going to the church this afternoon to help set up for the youth conference so we need to finish school a little early.

    HAGD!

Sue - I had that last week and it's yucky! Take it easy if you can. Drink lots of fluids too. ((HUGS))

FoG - Have a wonderful time! Your wife is going to just LOVE you. LOL!!

Today we have DS5's checkup to see if he's any better after 5 days on Zithromax. His cough is better (he had pneumonia) but he's now constantly clearing his throat - don't know what THAT'S all about. Maybe it's the seasonal allergies but I guess we'll find out. Then it's home for schooling and then I'm riding this afternoon. I have one daughter coming straight home from school and the other is staying for after school help because she's not doing well in math (just got her interm report - it's the only class that's below a 90 and it says her grade is between a 65 and 70 - NOT good). She'll walk up to church after school to then help out with the orientation for the new group of girls coming into our DOZ group - the young girls who do tambourine worship. Then tonight is Survivor night!! Yeah!! It's a total veg. night - Survivor, CSI and then ER. I love Thursdays because there's no expectations or anything planned - just a night to relax.

I like Thursdays too, Annsni. At least this term. Next term, I may like a different day. My day off cooking (besides Friday) is whatever night T teaches on. The kids and I scavange on that night or eat out.

Jenna's sore throat doesn't seem any worse, but she woke up with an abcessed tooth. I knew she had a cavity there, but the tooth was loose and I had hoped it would just fall out. Not to be, so she's headed to the dentist this pm.

This morning it is back to the sewing machine, to finish up other people's sewing. I need to make up a new pricelist cause my last one is on an old machine that isn't hooked up anymore. I guess you can tell by that that it has been a while since I've worked.

Migraine children are still in pain, say a prayer for them as you think of it today. Chris had a shot yesterday that didn't even pretend to work. The next step for him will be an inpatient DHE treatment if this doesn't break by Monday. Cass needs a shot, but I can't be in three places at once, so I'm afraid she'll have to wait until tomorrow. I'm wondering though, if some of what she is feeling is a side effect of the pain meds cause she says first that she feels bad and then that her head hurts. I'm going to try something different today and not give her that one and see if it makes a difference in how she feels.

Some days, I could use two of me! :D

Leastwise the house is clean and I don't have to cook. Off to see the board and eat a bite before I get to work. :flower:

Ann, I wish I had some extra help for my g/son in Math. He is running into some things that I don't even remember learning!

I wish I could take it easy, but I will be in church every night (except tonight) through next Wednesday. Unless, of course, I come down with Bronchitis or Pneumonia (which I am prone to do very easily), then I will be staying home.

    Back to Math...

I have to say that I've been pleased with some aspects of the public high school for my girls. When Lauren first started, she really struggled with math and was failing big time. I know the math chairperson and she got her hooked up with an awesome teacher and by the end of the year, going for extra help 3 days a week, she was getting 90's! What's so cool is that you can go before school for a lot of the teachers (what Nicole did today) and then after school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, they have a whole room filled with teachers who can help in each subject. It's like an hour of free tutoring! If the girls need help, they know they can stay after and get the help they need and we don't have to pay anything (well, the $7700 in school taxes pay for it, I guess). I'm so grateful to the school for this great resource!
