Good morning Everybody,

It's 48 degrees and light rain here today, guess that's better than 30 degrees and snow huh?

I brought in waffles with warm maple syrup [or warm fruit for toppings], hasnbrowns, and bacon or sausage. Enjoy.

The Grandkids have a half-day at school today because of conferences, so today's lunch will be meatball sandwiches with spicy mayo. Dinner tonight has to be fast and easy. Beef Pot Roast Sandwiches au Jus in the crockpot, Easy-Smashed Potatoes, and Warm Apple Spice Crumble.

Sure feels good to be able to cook again, I just can't chop things as fast as I'm used to with one arm in a sling.

Time to get my chores done, and get things ready for the crockpot.

Morning all! Sorry I'm running late - I got up late today and had a lot to do. The house, once again, looks like a tornado hit. :( There are Christmas boxes all over the hallway and the kids made sure there was more mess than decorating done last night. Bleck!! So, I just cleaned the kitchen, need to wash sheets and towels, then get going on the mess. I'm not going to put out as many decorations this year because the kids are still in the "we like to play with LOTS of things" stage, thus there are a lot of things out already. Why do I need to add more??? I'm really hoping to continue decluttering too - just getting rid of pretty much 1/2 the stuff in this house over the next few months. It's too overwhelming to take care of everything and it seems my 'deny it and maybe it will go away' theory just doesn't work.

So, Robby's doing his artithmetic, Joanna is playing with "not our cat" cat (belongs to the neighbors but she adopted us since I feed her - dumb idea, I know) and I just cleaned the kitchen. I'm off to sweep then mop the floor - I'm tired of sticking to it.

Have a great day all!!

Just popping in to say a quick Good Morning!

I hit the floor running this morning and I haven't stopped. I am now in the process of rolling, cutting, decorating, and baking more sugar cookies.

I just finished making 10 cheeseballs to give as gifts. I had to chop the ham by hand because I don't have one of those nifty 'thingies' that does it for me and I didn't want to grind it.

I DID grind up 4 pounds of ham for ham salad sandwiches to serve during the days surrounding Christmas. I am having quite a few people drop in at different times and I felt that would be the easiest to make and keep fresh.

Back to work!

Blech! Other than doing the kitchen floor, dishes, making the soup and homeschooling, I got nothing else done today. Now I have a migraine so after dinner, I'm going to take Imitrex and lay down.

See ya'll tomorrow morning.

Good Evening Everyone!

Ya'll've been as busy as I have today! Papa's funeral has caused T's family Christmas to be moved up a week to keep his sister's family from having to make two 12 hour (one way) trips in two weeks. I hadn't finished shopping for them. It's all done now but the sewing and wrapping and I'll get to that tomorrow.

The doc said Chris would just have to let this virus run it's course. :( Said she would sign him out of school until it did. Keep him hydrated and let her know if he got worse. She gave him a shot for the migraine and a perscription to help with the nausea. Poor kid. His teachers gave up at that point and sent home all the work they had been trying to catch him up on, including his tests. He's been working on that some this evening, but it's slow going cause he feels sooo bad. He'll still have to make up two test at school because they are computer based and can't be accessed from home.

All that is just a partial list of what I've been up to today. :D And the day's not over yet. I still have to figure out something for supper!

Where's the cook when you need him?

Merry Christmas to all!

Just dropped by to say I LOVE Christmas! I love all the Christmas carols, the nativity scenes, all the sights and smells of Christmas! (I'm thinking about starting a thread called "Are Christmas lights biblical?")

I have all my shopping done (except for the stocking stuffers), and will be doing some baking this weekend and next. I'm making Almond Joy Brownies in a jar for some of the girls at work...made 2 "prototypes" this weekend. I had to make 2 because the first one flubbed as I didn't "pack" the ingredients hard enough and it didn't all fit; the second one was perfect! I have the tags made and the fabric for the tops, so this coming weekend, I'll be in full production mode!

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas with family and friends!

Hi folks!!

Y'all are busy people!

We had a plumbing problem this weekend. But Praise the Lord it was an easy to fix problem. Once I found it, that is!! There is a storage building that the previous owner was trying to turn into a "Guest House". There is a bathtub, commode and sink in there with pipes running out to the building but not connected to the fixtures.
However, there is a spigot for a water hose there (outside the building, so no water inside) and a joint had come un-glued. And our neighbor had some PVC glue, so we didn't have to buy any..

I had a Bone Scan today and blood drawn to test the Tumor-Marker. Please pray the results are good.

Good morning all,

Gayla: Praying for your test results.

CJ: You're going to have to stop by more often. You're missing out on all the good chocolate recipes Rob has been posting. He keeps the CH filled with goodies!

We had company last night and I never did get to finish baking my sugar cookies, so that is first on the agenda today.

We have been praying about a decision for quite a while now and not only sought God, but Godly counsel. That was our company last night.

So amid hot chocolate, sugar cookies, prayers, and a few tears, a decision was made. Brent will be going to the Christian school starting in January. And guess what?

Brent got saved! :godisgood:

He thought he was saved when he was 5 (still living in WI), but he has been under conviction for a week or so now and finally told me what was bothering him - he didn't think he had ever really been saved.

I had wondered, but it was hard to tell because he did everything Christians do and loved going to church, reading his Bible, memorizing Scripture.

Anyway, we're all praising the Lord for His goodness! (That's where the tears came into play.) He will be baptized Sunday. :saint:

Coffee, hot tea, and hot cocoa is on the stove. I'll let Rob bring in breakfast.

CYAL! PTL!

Sue, so glad to hear about Brent. God bless him richly. He will be under great guidance in your home. I believe that.

His experience was much like mine. I grew up in the Anglican Church and nevr disbelieved, but it was at my confirmation that I realized the Christ as my personal Saviour.

Cheers, and God's richest blessing. I highly recommend the book, The Fight, by Dr. John White, InterVarsity Press....it costs about $9.00 US right from their site on the net. I used to give it to every convert under my ministry.

Jim

Oh, and good morning to all!

GOOODDDDD MOOORRRRNNNNIIIINGGGG COFFEE HOUSE!!!!

How's everyone this morning? I'm feeling pretty good - no migraine, thanks to Imitrex last night, I'm going to be able to ride Whirl again tomorrow afternoon, my house looks like only 1/2 a disaster and I'm going out to eat tonight!! What more could a woman want?? LOL.

Today will be doing the normal homeschooling, laundry and housework - and picking up Jo from preschool at 12:30. After the girls get home, I have to take Nicole (14) to the store to pick up a black blouse for her concert tonight at school then get home and get ready to go out. DH and I will go to pasta night at the yacht club again (gotta spend that minimum) and then the concert will be right after dinner. I'm looking forward to it - even if it IS a high school freshman chorus concert. LOL!!

Take care all!! It's going to be a rainy day today but warm so it's a good day to be inside (and maybe crack open the windows a little).

Ann

OH, I forgot to say Congratulations to Sue!! That's wonderful about Brent's being saved last night - the angels rejoiced as do we. Also, I know it's tough to think about sending the kids back to school but sometimes it IS the right thing for them. I see my girls in the high school now and I see them both growing in ways that they wouldn't have at home. I gave them a great foundation and they're ready to now face the world. God is leading you to this and He won't disappoint you - I promise.

Brent and I thank you all! He is just 'glowing' this morning. :godisgood:

I told Brent he gave Jesus the GREATEST 'birthday present' this year for he gave Him his heart.

Good Morning Everybody,

CONGRATULATIONS BRENT!!! Who is that smilin' granny behind you? If her smile gets any wider her face is gonna split in two.

Sorry about getting here late, I was gathering the ingredients for the Chili-Supper at church tonight.

How about breakfast first, then the chocolate?

I brought in Peach and Sausage Waffles, Filled Apple Breakfast Cake, Rise and Shine Sausage Oatmeal Cups, and Sausage Kabobs.

NOW WHAT YOU'VE BEEN WAITING [AND DROOLING] FOR: Oreo Truffles, Double-Chocolate Fudge Cup, Best Ever Chocolate Fudge Layer Cake, Chocolate-Cream Ornament Cake, Chocolate-Covered Oreo Cookie Cake, Cocoa Meringue Kisses, Mocha Angel Food Cake with Raspberry Sauce, and Triple Chocolate Bliss Cake. [ I took out all the calories, and the carbs.] Hope you gals don't OD.

And for Brent: His very own Chocolate Cream Ornament Cake.

Time to start making Chili, Crusty Homemade Bread, 5-Layer Southwest Salad, and Country Skillet Pudding.

I thought of a new reality show: SURVIVOR: HERSHEY, PA. The contestant sign-up sheet is ready when you Ladies are.

Sue, that's great about Brent! It's good to know he's sure.
He'll be fine in Christian school. After all, you gave him the "leg up" when he needed it. Maybe a new chapter is just the thing.

As for hot cocoa, it's a little too warm here in Philly for that right now. It's balmy and raining. But they say some more cold air is coming, maybe by next week.

Good morning all!

God is good ALL the time - All the time, God is good!

Brent will be baptized Sunday morning. He went caroling with the church last night before the actual church service. Tonight he is going soul-winning (door-to-door) with the teens and then to a teen activity in the ministry center. This is a weekly thing.

Friday night is the teen Christmas party and Saturday is the Bus Ministry Christmas party.

Ahhhhh. I had forgotten how busy these teens are. I don't know how I could have forgotten, it's only been 20 years since I've had a teen in the house...

I don't have fancy names for my food like Rob does, but I brought in some sausage patties, biscuits and sausage gravy, grits and fried eggs - sorry no chocolate. Everyone is still in a stupor from eating too much yesterday.

Coffee, hot tea, hot cocoa is on the counter - help yourself!

CYAL!
