Great news about Brent and hello to all in the Coffee House. I'll have my nice hot cuppa, but I tried an eggnog latte are Starbucks this week that I'd like to find here.

Its been a WHILE, but praise the Lord it is because our ministry is starting to grow here and i just don't have the time I used to. It is a cool, wet, windy day today, and we are going to take our Kids Klub to the nursing home to sing a little later so I have a few minutes.

I mentioned this on the thread about Maddie's birth, but want to say again thanks for being here in the slow, dark days of the ministry here. Some of you remember my posts when we had no one coming to church and you were so good during those days to pray for and encourage us.

You can find some ministry pics and videos of the work by CLICKING HERE .

Good to see you all again!

    Great pics, Roger!

You waited on the Lord through some dark and dreary days and we waited and prayed with you.

Now we can say, "We knew him when..." :applause:

    Good Morning Everybody,

Sue: Fancy names for food mean nothing. That's why truck stops, and mom 'n pop restaurants are the most popular restaurants[I've eaten in both, thank you very much].

But, since you insisted...Today's breakfast is Scrumptious Soul-Satisfying Spread Singularily Supplied, Starring Sue. :applause: :love2:

Last night's Fellowship Dinner went well. From the comments I heard I guess they discontinued these meals almost 6 years ago. We'll have to wait and see how well received last night's was. I guess the big problem years ago was lack of attendance, and difficulty getting food supplied. Hard to have dinners if nobody wants to help cook, and help out at the dinner.

I looked in at the Coffeehouse last night, and the Chocolate was all gone, and I didn't find anybody passed out (resting?) on the floor. I think I can identify everybody that indulged by their fingerprints. Their Chocolate fingerprints that is.

Roger: Those photos are great. Who is the handsome guy on the far left in the newspaper photo? The crop doesn't grow until all the hard work is done. You've done it well too my brother.

Have to get my chores done. For some reason they don't do themselves. I Wonder why?

Morning all. Thanks for the food, Sue - I was hungry this morning! Still getting over my migraine but am feeling a bit better. Today is homeschooling and laundry (seems like a trend, huh?) then later I'll go riding. Pray for my safety - he hasn't been ridden in 2 weeks and is going crazy (he LOVES to be ridden and worked hard). I'm going to try to ride him down.

Also, if you guys could pray for Bob and I. Way back when we were first married, Bob was involved with a bunch of guys in a band - a secular band. None of the guys are Christians (although one guy's wife came to the Lord), and we've been praying for them for years. Well, we just got a call this morning from one of the guys that the guitar player passed away this morning. He was about 45 years old - had a heart arrythmia 4 months ago that put him in a coma and he never came out. We'll be going to the wake and funeral - and this is possibly the best time to reach these guys. Please pray that God would draw them to Him and that Bob and I would be able to lead them to the Lord. I really pray for their souls, guys. :( It's so sad.

    Ann

Ann, it is refreshing to read about you and your husband's burden for the "boys in the band". May the Lord give you the right words, and His power, to provide grace where it is needed at this time. God bless.

Hello everyone. We are enjoying a mild spell here in Ontario. We have still had our share of rain, however, and that is leaving the turf somewhat soggy. We need a deep freeze before the snow comes.

I wrote a rare item on our Fellowship Baptist forum. Now, no one hardly ever posts there. I received two separate emails from my item. One from Saskatchewan. Turns out this oldtimer knew the same people I knew back then, and we had a jolly good discussion of memories. The second chap lives just 50 miles from me and I knew both his father and father-in-law, who were both Fellowship Baptist pastors. Amazing how God moves in mysterious ways His wonders to perform.

    Cheers,

    Jim

PS. Both these memories go back to the fifties and early sixties.

Thanks very much. Just back from the nursing home, but on the way out to do some "pastoral work" (trying to see if I can get a church members computer back online :) ).

You might pray for our first ever Carol Service this Sunday evening. A lot of folks have been invited.

Hey Rob - it was my turn to fall again!! Watch out!! But atleast this time I did it big - from a 17.1 hand horse (that's 5'9" at the base of his neck!) who decided he didn't like dressage but wanted to be in a rodeo!! I'm OK - just a bit sore and KNOW I'm going to feel it tomorrow. I hope we're not passing this back and forth!!

BTW - I DID get back on the horse - and rode the little bugger for another 1/2 hour but that was after we made him run around in a circle for 20 minutes bucking for the first 10 minutes!

    Off to take some Advil...

Roger, I enjoyed the pics and the video. May God continue to bless you in your ministry there!

Rob, those chocolate fingerprints are mine! Everything was delicious![IMG]

Hi all:Been busy collecting food for the Damascus Help pantry for the poor. We got 3 big boxes and 3 shopping bags full. Plus we got 2 large boxes full of toys. Will have Teen Challenge pick it up tommorrow. Hopefully in a.m. If not will give them a call for reminder. I have airport runs to do and will not be around. So all news I have.

    Good morning all,

Yummmmmm. Thanks for bringing in breakfast, Rob. I am starving!

    Welcome to the CGCH, abonmarche'.

I have to run this morning as I'm subbing on the corner this morning and at noon. I need to get Brent up and feed him. Maybe I'll just take a plate to go from the CH.

It was 60º and sunny yesterday. There are so many kids out of school sick and grown-ups too. The weather can't make up it's mind what season it is...

It is 39º this morning, but will be 45º this afternoon. I have a doctor's appointment Monday morning for fasting lab tests and prescription renewals. THAT is probably where I'll 'catch' something!

    CYAL!

    Good morning, everyone!

Rob, thanks for breakfast. I know why people like your cooking--it's delicious!

I came here looking for coffee. Starbucks recalled my coffee pot, and I had to ship it back to them. All the way via UPS to Denver, and now I have to wait for a voucher to get a new one. I'm OK because I can drink tea, but Hubby is not happy. He had to drive thru this morning and get coffee.

The wedding is only 16 days away! My son and future DIL are coming today--big office shower for them tomorrow. So I'm off to clean the house.

Morning all! I'm actually feeling pretty good today - it's just the front of my neck that's sore, my chin has a good bruise and apparently my helmet did it's job because my head is sore on the left side. I took a bit of advil and I should be fine, though.

So, today is Joanna's preschool Christmas party at 11 - it's her last day of school until January - and then I have to work. We have our cell group (small group) party tonight too - AND I found out that the old friend who passed away yesterday's wake is only today! Yikes!! We don't know his family but we DO know a number of his friends and want to minister to them - I'm not sure how this is going to work with the cell party tonight. Hmmmm - We can go this afternoon but I'm not sure if the friends would be there then - they'll probably be there tonight. :/

Well, take care all! It's foggy but quite warm here today and should be all weekend. That's good for horseback riding because Whirl tends to be better in warm weather - imagine what he would have been like if it was cold??? LOL!

I remember my last ride, Ann. It was just a few years ago, and in winter, but the snow had all gone. I went down the back fields to do a little jumping. Well, I went over the gate ok, but the horse landed on a patch of ice. She slid forward on all four and I slid off the back on you know where. The doctor decided I shouldn't ride anymore. I might do an injury at my age. So, I rode the horse down to a neighbors and gave her to him.

Good to hear that you are ok after your spill.

    Cheers,

    Jim

They closed an elementary school just outside the city because of a lower GI bug that swept through the school. Kids are staying home while they disinfect the place.

This morning the building management where I work (36 floor building) put out breakfast in the lobby for all who work in the building. Lots of flavored cream cheeses for bagels. And donuts and danish and pound cake. Long line! But the cream cheese was worth it!

Glad to see Friday here - it's been a long week at work, and too short a week at home.

    Good morning all,

It is 41º this morning, heading for a high of 59º and sunshine. They pushed the rain back until tomorrow.

Brent didn't get home from the teen Christmas party until around 10:00 last night and the Bus Christmas party is this morning at 9:00. I think he's going to be worn out! Maybe not. I can remember when I could go like that all the time - but, alas, no more...

Time to make coffee. I may go back to bed after Brent leaves. I feel something bad coming on and I slept on the couch last night and have a stiff neck and didn't get much sleep either.

    HAGD!

    Good morning!

Debby, the Walker Co., GA school system closed yesterday due to flu and strep. They say the flu is hitting early this year.

Sue, I hope you get some rest and don't get sick. My youngest has something--probably the flu--so we're going to the doctor today. He has a 103.2 fever. If it's not the flu, we will probably come home from the doctor's office with it. It would be just our luck to all have the flu at the wedding. :tonofbricks:

I'm off to do some last minute stocking stuffers.

Have a good day and stay well.
