annsni, I'm SO sorry! What a nuisance to happen just now! Hang in there...

Hey you guys, only 30 is cold? We went down to NINE last night! We left the barn water running so the well woudn't freeze up and that worked, but when Barry went out to take care of the horses last evening (I curled up in bed early...), he found the water in the half bath in the barn had burst and water was everywhere. So, God bless him, he cleaned up that mess and turned off the bath water. This morning I opened the dining room curtains and lo and behold we had great enormous icicles hanging from a Japanese maple.

'Barry! I think we burst a sprinkler line!' He went out and yup, we had. It's beautiful, but the water is taken care of now. We had some freezing last winter but nothing this bad so we were careless about getting all the outdoor faucets off before this hit. We never thought about it -- only the barn water!

I guess we'll think about it next year! Barry's incredibly good tempered about all this, though. He sees the beauty of the icicles and figures the other can be fixed.

It's a crystal cold day, but the worst should be over according to the weatherman. Our nights will be moving UP to 30-32 this week! Wow!

    Almost spring!

Ok, I have an idea, folks. This spring we are all going to descend on Friend of God's place and he's going to cook for ALL of us! Looking at his menus makes me feel downright lazy!

With all you do Helen nothing should make you feel lazy.

Fine with me. Just give me 24 hrs notice so I can make sure my pantry can take a hit. God gave me this gift [it is a gift isn't it?-call it Hospitality] and who am I not to share it?
Let's see you're talkin about breakfast-dinner-supper + snacks, right? No Problem.
Ann: I wish I lived closer to you, you could recuperate while I did the cooking and chores. I'm used to it so it's no biggie for me.

But remember, you've only read my menus, not tasted my cooking. Who knows?, you might think my cooking would "gag a maggot."

Rob - NEVER!! LOL - I had your bruscetta chicken bake for lunch today - leftover from the other night and it was a hit over here!! VERY yummy!!

Well, fortunately, a good church is worth it's weight in food and we've got an awesome church. I have 2 weeks worth of meals already signed up for by various friends and more are still calling!! How awesome is that??

As you can see, I'm using two hands to type again. Whew, that feels better (even if it DOES hurt). I think I really jostled the nerve badly and that's why it was so excrutiating. But now it's to the normal dull ache so I'm set to type for a while. I made up a siggy, though, to atleast give everyone heads-up as to why my typing might be so bad!! LOL!

Annsni, they get hurricanes, floods, alligators.... and no seasons. The summers are hot and humid...oh, wait, so are yours....

I very much like living here in southern Oregon! No hurricanes, tornadoes, droughts, earthquakes. Lush and green without all the rain the northern part of the state gets. Friendly people, gorgeous mountains all around our valley...come visit!

No offense, Jon-Marc! I'm glad you like it there. When I was in college I flew down to visit a friend in Fort Lauderdale and it WAS fun walking on the beach in January with only sandals and light clothing....at midnight. I remember stepping on hundreds of tiny jellyfish and they sort of fluoresced in the dark. It was lovely.

But I still like it here now!

Ann, good for you with the typing. Hope that hand doesn't give you any extra trouble until AFTER surgery!

Okay, let's see if I have this right...

6 Women and their husbands. Sorry to burst your bubble girls, but my missus wouldn't put up with me feeding you grapes while you lounge with full stomachs, Breakfast-dinner-supper-and snacks for 12 people, 16 if you count my missus and grandkids, until you get fed-up with my cooking.

I figure your DHs are my insurance that I don't get strung up by you. :praying:

Signup sheet is in the foyer, and reservations will be taken until March 15, 2007.

Atta Girl, Ann! You don't seem like the type of gal who's gonna let a severely bruised hand. and carpal-tunnel surgery on the same hand, keep her down.

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

It is 32 degrees here right now. We had some freezing rain during the night, which made the 25 mile drive to church an adventure this morning. We have a Winter Storm Warning for today and tomorrow, with more ice and snow on the way.

We visited my neighbor's church today. It is an SBC church with a really sweet spirit. When we walked thru the door we met "Dan" who warmly welcomed us, and made sure that if we had any questions they were answered promptly, made sure we had coffee and donuts before church, and that we knew where different rooms were. Their procedure is to have visitors wear a purple pin, this identifies the visitors without the sometimes awkward introductions. After the choir sang the opening hymn, the Pastor stepped to the pulpit. Guess what? Dan is the Pastor. Surprised us, we thought he was just a very-well prepared Usher. It was a very good service, and a real blessing. The service and atmosphere had a warm, open, homey touch.
We're going back tonight for evening services, and we'll probably go Wednesday night for prayer meeting. This is the type of church that we have missed for some time.

I brought in Meatball Sandwiches with Spicy Mayo, Slow-Cooked Chili, and Cranberry-Orange Bread Pudding. Enjoy.

My thoughts and prayers are with everybody who is battling various ailments. Stay warm-Stay hydrated-and know you are being held up in prayer.

Sue, Ann, & Helen - the first thing you three should do every morning is: Bite the head off a live bullfrog. Why? Because nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day! Bon Appetit.

You must have sneezed on the montior because so do I!!!

I coughed all night, slept with oxygen on, and must have sneezed at least four dozen times today. My leg is swelling, which means something is going haywire with my heart again. Going to the Dr. tomorrow.

The ice was thick on the trees yesterday, along with everything else, and a large limb broke off of one of our trees and took out an 8 foot section of our picket fence. Of course the deductible hasn't been satisfied on our homeowner's insurance policy yet this year. :BangHead:

I need to use the Nebulizer, then I'm heading back to the couch with the oxygen concentrator.

    HAGD!

You are a sick, sick man ............................... who made me almost ruin my computer with the tea that I almost spit out!! ROTFL!!

Well, I'd better not get sick - atleast not until next week PLEASE!!

Sue and Helen - I hope you guys get better fast!! I brought some homemade chicken soup for ya - I made some for me for Tuesday, so I have plenty.

Rob - I'm SO glad that the church was as great as that. What a difference to be in a good Bible church where people love the Lord and it reflects in how they treat people. I actually have tears in my eyes reading that!! Well, I'm emotional today anyway. LOL!

Today was the dedication of a little girl who was adopted by a family in our church who are great friends. We prayed for this little one before we even knew who she was - but GOD knew who we were praying for. After her dedication, Pastor had asked me to give MY testimony of my adoption and it was such a blessing to me to give it. I had SO many come to me to tell me how much it blessed them - and I pray it continues to do so. They ended up taping it in the second service because our senior pastor loved it so much and feels that it would be good to keep for the future. Also, the mom of the little girl who was dedicated today didn't get to hear it so she got a copy after church (she didn't know I was going to talk, so went with her daughter to the nursery - they're trying to acclimate her).

SO, I felt I did well but MAN is it draining!! I had a few points I wanted to make sure I communicated and I did but I was SO nervous (I'm NOT a public speaker) and now that I'm on the other side, I'm ready for a nap. LOL!!

It's just foggy here and 45 degrees so no snow or ice for us. I know it's supposed to get cold tomorrow so we'll see if we get any snow at all this week. I hope so!! :D

They're hibernating...FoG. Any other ideas?

    No....wait....nevermind.....

I just feel yucky, Sue, so you PLEASE go take good care of yourself.

Crystal day again. Clear and cold. Beautiful looking from the inside out, though!

Napped for awhile. Gina is watching Chris. Barry went to church (he/we transport some old people from an assisted living complex, so one of us has to make sure to go each Sunday).

Daughter Julie called. She has a cold, too. OK WHO IS DOING THIS??? lol.....

Annsni, you wouldn't mind delivering that soup, would you????

Dr. Rob's cold, flu, general malaise cure....

Soak in a hot tub, with soft music playing, aromatherapy, and a cup of hot tea with just a bit of honey in it. Relax in a comfortable chair, or bed with some comfort food, and watch a movie on Lifetime.

Should you end up falling asleep, you will be fed, relaxed, and hydrated.

Ann: What's wrong with my "bullfrog therapy?" You gotta admit...Nothing worse will happen to you. Girl! You shoudda told me you were still drinkin' tea, now I got it all over my monitor too.

I really did study Pre-Med in college, then I switched to Mortuary Science. My bedside manner wasn't so hot, I'd rather be "the last guy to let you down instead."

Yeah - you'll be hydrated in the tub because when you fall asleep, you'll drown!! ROTFL!!

You're right about nothing else happening that's worse than biting a bullfrog - bleck!!

Are you really a mortician - or did you just go to college for it (did you ever work in that field?) Our former mayor owns the funeral home in town.

Rob...Jim...My pet frogs are not real happy with you right now!!!! They wanna know are you serious????? I've tried explaining that they aren't really frogs that they are oriental firebelly toads, but they say that isn't enough difference to make them feel safe. So if you wake up in the morning with something slimy in your bed, just remember it is your own fault!

    Good Evening Everyone!

It's been a fairly peaceful Sunday here, with the exception of the wild search for a reciept that I KNOW I've had in my hand in the last few weeks but can't seem to find now. We've decided however that life won't end without it and are now consuming the nice pork roast I actually cooked myself, turned out very well and didn't force me to be in the kitchen with it while it cooked! I may have to pick up another of these while they are on sale and stick in the deep freeze for later.

Helen, Sue, ya'll want my cold remedy recipe? :D It can be added to your tea.......
