TinyTim--We got a little rain this evening. I'm ok with it as long as it doesn't freeze again and cause road problems. Most of our snow has melted and turned to soggy puddles everywhere--just warm enough for the kids to want to play outside and muddy enough that I refuse to let them.

Pappy--you find the neatest pictures to post. I could reach out and grab that iced tea.

Menageriekeeper--I'll trade ya. I'll take your daughter to the mall if you let mine play outside and drag mug in on your carpet. Although, a shopping trip is just as expensive as getting the floors cleaned!

Have a good day at school, Shane.

    Good morning all,

It is so foggy that I cannot see the house across the street from me!!! It is 19º, with an expected high of 42º. It's getting warmer every day!

I bought a new (used) car last week (2000 Dodge Intrepid) with the tax refund and Pastor Bob's daughter (Pamela) is getting my old car (1996 Ford Escort). They are coming up this week-end to pick it up. Pastor Bob will be preaching at our church Sunday night. I'm looking forward to a nice visit.

I am planning on getting some new windows in my house and Pastor Bob is going to advise me on a few things when he comes up. He may even come back up this spring and do (or help with) the work on the sun porch. That would be wonderful!

There are some things I have let slide that I need to do before the week-end so I need to get busy.

    HAGD!

Abcgrad, my solution to mud on the carpet was to buy a Hoover steam carpet cleaner. That thing is worth it's weight in gold! Whoever's idea it was to put cream color carpet in my dining room should have to come keep this stuff clean with 3 kids, their friends, 3-6 dogs and whatever else gets drug through across that carpet! The first project this summer will be to rip that stuff up and put down hardwood (or laminate. I'm trying to decide).

    Good Morning Everyone!

Thanks for the coffee Pappy. It hit the spot since I've been up since 5 cause T had to be at work early this morning. Good thing about that is that I've managed to get a good bit of the house cleaned with the extra time. (not sure how I managed to do so much, I only got up an hour early. Not gonna complain though!)

Sue, glad to hear Brent is so much better. I hope you and Pastor Bob have a good visit and can get together some plans for that sunporch. Sometimes the planning is harder than the work!

Ann, did you really say that your bathroom is going to cost $16,000 dollars to remodel??? Yikes! You must be doing a serious plumping redo. (been there, not fun, but at least I didn't have to have a liscensed contractor to do the work, very few codes to be met in the country)

My today has been rearranged yet again. Jenna isn't quite well enough to go to school today, so I'll be doing the cross city run to take over finished work and pick up what is yet to be done. Chris is still here, but he hasn't woke up yet so I don't know how he is feeling. I hope we don't have to get another shot. He just had one this past Thrusday (stupid weather systems) and his doc is not in today.

    Good Morning Everybody,

I figured it was just as easy to quote Sue's weather as to post mine. We have the exact same weather.

The dinner and discussion both went fine last night. Pastor asked how I knew his favorite meal was chicken, and I replied "You're Baptist aren't you?" I told him about the problem at the last church and why we left[ Pastor says You're a Sinner if you get Migraines,] and that we'd probably have a problem getting a letter from that church and he said he wouldn't believe anything they had to say anyway.

Monthly potluck at the church is this sunday, and after dinner last night Pastor asked if I'd consider making the same dishes for the potluck. I told him that I was pleased they liked the dishes, and to please them I would certainly make them again[ see?, I can be diplomatic.]

I brought in Waffles, Scrambled Eggs, Bacon and Sausage, and Sausage Gravy and Biscuits. Enjoy.

Chores first, then to the grocery to get supplies for a repeat of last night's dinner for sunday.

Thanks everybody for your prayers last night.

Rob - So you think you'll make this your church home?

Just got back from therapy - I have to say I like the other therapist better. There are two brothers and I've had the other brother this whole time and today was the one I haven't seen other than my eval. The other brother really grinds and breaks up the scar tissue manually - working it for a good 10 minutes whereas this guy didn't even touch it. I hope I get the good guy on Friday - I LOVE that hand massage!

Today is homeschooling, laundry, chores, etc. My dad will come over this afternoon to bring me the things that he doesn't want left in his house when he's away. I'll be bringing him to the airport tomorrow to go to Miami for a few days. I'm going to TRY to get out for a pedicure since it's not going to be so bitterly cold - should be in the upper 40s today!! Isn't it funny how, when you've come from bitter temps, 40s feels pretty good but 40s in the fall is freezing?? LOL! For dinner tonight, Bob and I will hit up the yacht club for pasta night. We'll then have one more dinner to do - probably "pub grub" on Sunday night, I think, and that will meet our minimum.

Rob - Thanks for breakfast - I slept in a bit and didn't have time for more than a cup of tea on the way out. :D

Yes. After more than a month of visiting, we've liked what we've seen and heard. This will be my first time as a member of an SBC church.I've visited a few but never joined one.

Lest anyone think I'm becoming a "Pastor's Pet", I have a hard time turning down an open, honest request for a dish. If nobody else likes it at least I know the Pastor can clean it up.

I'm ready to invade the grocery.

Rob, glad you're joining the ranks of the SBC. We get called liberal a lot, but really we are simply more tolerant of views that are different from ours but still have Biblical merit. (I'm talking things like alcohol and such and yes I know SBCer are supposed to be temperant, doesn't make most of us less tolerant) All depends on the individual churches themselves. (you may not like all the literature, but it sure can open up some interesting conversations when you disagree with something in it.)

While you are at the grocery stock my cupboards as well, Cuz. That way I won't have to go. :D

I've got to go get dressed and run these dresses across town.

    See ya!

You're in the SBC cuz? That settles it...I'm in the right place. PM me if you would. I'd like to look up your churches website. Ours [seems funny to say that] is http://www.hillsdale-baptist.org/

The groceries are just inside the back door.I had to sacrifice 3 steaks to get by the huskies. Those dogs can eat!!

I told the Pastor I wasn't sure I wanted to join something that would have someone like me as a member. He laughed, slapped me on the back, and told me at least I was honest.

It's good to be home. I wasn't wandering in the wilderness for 40 years...but it sure felt like it,

BTW this Pastor has migraines too and he knows he's a saved sinner just like me. That's good to know.

Thanks everybody for your concern, encouragement, and prayers through our search for a new church home. We finally have found where the Lord wants us. :jesus: :wavey:

LOL, Cuz! Usually they get their DAoRM (daily allowance of red meat) from consuming the neighborhood cats, but here lately the neighbors have started keeping their cats in at night. :D

Yeppers, I'm in the SBC. Have been since I was in my early 20's. Before that I was a Free Will'er. I've been part of several different SBC churches and they are all have different atmosheres from almost dead to quietly active to quiet not being part of the discription at all. The one I'm part of now fits us perfectly, the one that is closer, well, let's just say that I don't fit them any better than they fit me and that includes their pastor. I've never been big on what conference a church belongs to. I'd rather have a church that fits not only in doctrine but in also how things are organized and what the spirit of the people is like.

I'm a tired person tonight and I'm glad to be home too. If I've figured correctly, when I'm done with this load of dresses, I will have somehow altered 24 pageant dresses since Monday. These kind of things:

    [IMG] [IMG]

I have 5 I want to get done yet tonight. The next two days need to be spent steaming and doing last minute alterations. I want at least a half a dozen posters for my friends shop that say "failure to plan on your part does not constitute an emergency on our part". Maybe that will give these girls and mothers the idea that you can't wait until Monday before the Friday pageant to go dress shopping!

Bed will be after the dresses so I'll say good night!

    Good morning all,

Shane must have slept in this morning...

It is 33º and cloudy, heading for a high of 40º. The next three days we are expecting rain and snow mixed.

My oldest daughter is coming in from Indiana tomorrow about the same time Bob (Pastor Bob) will be arriving from Arkansas. Laura's middle son, Noah, will be turning 11 tomorrow. I hope I get some cake and ice cream!

Brent, Seth, and Noah have a basketball game tomorrow night, so I know that's where we'll all be for a couple of hours and then we may go out to grab a bite to eat.

    Time for coffee...

    Good Morning Everybody,

36 degrees here headed to high of 40 with high winds. It must be getting warmer in Lincoln, Sue has switched from Hot Chocolate to Coffee.

BTW Sue, Lincoln Police have been given a description of you and your new "hot rod." Try to keep it between the ditches.

I don't know whether to start "spring cleaning" or claim that spring isn't here yet.

Cuz: I checked with the nearest mod and she said it's okay to post pictures of the pageant gowns, you don't have to model them.

This morning I brought in Raspberry-Stuffed French Toast with Custard Sauce, Sausage Scramble, Home Fries, and Oven Breakfast Hash. Enjoy.

I'm waiting until the church gets our letter before I change my profile from "searching" to the church's name. Ok..Ok, I'm a Reformed Pharasee, I want to do this right.

    Good morning!

Our snow is all gone now! I have a million things to do today, but am so sleepy I want to crash on the couch first. Hopefully the doctor will give me the c-pap machine soon. Our insurance has changed their policies on sleep apnea and we have to wait for everything to "go through" properly. Don't you just love insurance companies?

Last night I took the kids to the pet shop to buy more freshwater snails as ours had died. They do a good job keeping the fish tank clean. For the first time in history, all three of us made it out of there without buying a bird, a puppy, a hampster, or (ugh!) any creepy crawly snakes or lizards. Whew! Did you know that pet shops actually sell creatures that I would kill with a shoe? I guess some people consider bugs for pets. . .

    Good Morning Everyone!

Sue, sounds like you are going to have a very exciting and FULL weekend. :D You better grab your piece of cake and hide it!

Rob, I may alter these dresses but you won't catch me (or even Cassie) wearing them! (I'm a red head btw) I posted the more modest of the choices, but some of these girls want  !!!!!!

I'm done with them, thank goodness. I ate a huge piece of Jenna's birthday cake and that gave me just enough energy to get everything done. Now I just have to figure out how to get them back across town while at the same time taking Chris in for yet another shot. I'm so tired of migraines and if I'm this tired of them how do you think he feels? (like a pin cushion, I'm told)

Abcgrad, don't you know the very easiest thing to keep are the oriental firebelly toads, like are in my avatar? One of ours we've had for two years. All you need is a 10 gallon aquarium, some aquarium rock(the big stuff), a few things for them to climb on/hide under, enough declorinated water to cover the bottom of the aquarium by about a 1/2 inch and crickets(have them covered in calcium powder every now and again. The aquarium will need cleaning out about every other month, depending on how good you are at estimating how many crickets they can eat(I buy $2 worth every two to three weeks for our two toads), and how long you crickets survive. Dead crickets make a mess of the tank! And that is it. Much easier than keeping fish.

This summer, I'm sure a lizard of some type or another will join our household. Chris has been wanting one for a while now, but they are a little more complicated to keep and require more equipment and a bigger habitat. I've been taking my time and doing research. Some lizards, like iguanas, can live up to 30 years and get very big!

  I draw the line at spiders and cockroaches myself!

Going to start dialing and redialing the doc till I get through. Can't plan my day until I get Chris an appointment. I hate even taking him into all those germs! It seems someone is sick at every turn here lately. The teenagers have a nasty stomach bug going through the high and middle schools. The elementary kids and adults have two different upper respiratory infections going around. At barely 8 this morning the docs parking lot was already filling up! My own doesnt even come in until 8:30 or 9. It's gonna be fun!

Guys - I'm so sad right now. There's a family that we know from our old church who's son died in the World Trade Center on 9/11. He spoke to his mom - said that they were sending them to the roof and they would be rescued from there. They've never found his body.

We just got news that his brother (there were 3 kids in the family - 2 sons and a daughter) was killed yesterday - electrocuted on the job. I'm so heartbroken for this family to have to go through burying yet another son. Please pray for them - their last name is (snip) and the parents are Christene and Elias - and their sister is Liz. The son who died on 9/11 was Joe and their son that just passed away was Elias too. I can't even begin to imagine.

Well, on that bright note :( Not much going on today. I've got to run to the grocery store and then get some homeschooling done. I took my dad to the airport so we didn't do any schooling this morning. Tonight is a night home to watch TV - Survivor, CSI and then ER.

(Edited only to remove personal info about a third party.)
