Good Monday Morning, folks!
Sorry you're sick Oasis! We have found that taking vitamin D in the winter tends to ward off the worst of the bugs and shorten the life of the others. I think Barry is sick because he simply does not take time off and so his body runs down. I've told him I'm really going to nag about taking one day off in seven. For me it is Thursdays. I know that sounds funny, but the week is as under control as it is going to get at that point and the weekend activities have not yet started. So Thursday, for years now, has been my traditional day of kicking back, napping, reading, taking it easy and letting my body catch up. Because of Chris, our retarded son, we can't both kick back on the same day that thoroughly, so this last week, Barry slept all day Friday....and Saturday....and most of Sunday! I'll see if I can't get him down next Friday, too, to just rest for a day.
Some folks seem to think 'rest' is a four-letter swear word!
Sue, how is Brent this morning? It's seven in the morning here, so you should be at somewhere around nine? He should be awake soon.
MK, your kids are really going through it this season, aren't they? That means you are, too, taking care of them. Please take care of yourself in those odd moments when you find yourself bored, OK?
Ann, about Christianity and schools -- my Dad gave me an excellent picture of what the world was like once. He told me to imagine all kinds of poles, or sticks, stuck in the ground in a field. All but one were stuck in at some kind of angle. One was straight up. All the angled sticks considered the straight up stick to be weird, proud, out of place, wrong, judgmental (pick your adjective). So Dad's question to me, his challenge to me, was "Are you going to be bent and crooked like the rest of the world or straight up?" I never forgot the picture. I wasn't able to live up to it as a teenager, but I never forgot!
I think it holds regarding Christianity today. All the other bent religions are fine -- they can all agree than an 'angle' is the best place to be and thus can all accept each other to one extent or another. But straight up? No, Christianity is totally unacceptable. These crazy people think they are right to the exclusion of all other religions! How proud! How judgmental!
How right....
God bless you all.
