 Thanks Cuz! What was it I was saying the other day about my blood cousins? I think you might just be one! :D

I did survive it. And I don't think he'll be touching my Precious any time soon. She had a serious preemptive conversation with him and laid down the law herself. Poor kid was already scared of me. It seems he'll still be coming around (doggone it!), having agreed to her demands. I have to give him credit that he appears to agree with her. I may have to start liking this kid(except for the part where he told her she was perfect and worth it).

Good Morning Everyone! :D

Pancakes, bacon and sausage are warming in the oven! Chris says to tell you that he made the pancakes!

It will be a normal Monday morning here. Chores, homeschooling and coffee!

Ya'll have a good day and this is not a double post!

I'm stuck, alone, in a strange city, so I thought I'd stop by and post on the BB for a bit. Wowza, the coffee house smells great! I haven't eaten for a while and that ham sandwich that was mentioned along with the chocolate shake (npetreley spoke of in another thread) sounds like heaven. Plus a nice piece of that molten chocolate cake. I would kill for chocolate right now. I would kill for a lot of things right now.

I'm beyond broke due to an incredibly horrendous investment decision I made this weekend. May I start a tab? :)

No tab needed, Chica - all the food is free! :D

Today will be somewhat quiet for us. DH will fix our mailbox that some kids played mailbox baseball with on Saturday night (MAN, this box pretty much exploded but I got one that is "indestructable". Just the weight of it would do some damage to a baseball bat! LOL), and then I'm heading to the barn later. We have a possible new rider for Whirl so I want to see how she does with him. I found some meatballs in the freezer that my 15 year old made last month so I'll pick up some nice bread and we'll be all set. I already have a salad so it's spaghetti and meatballs in the Snider house!

Oh - we just filed our 2006 income taxes. Nothing like being on time, right? Actually, we filed 2 extentions so we're OK and we're getting some money back, so that makes me happy. We'll pay off the home equity line of credit with it. THAT will feel good!

Good Afternoon Everybody,

Just a quick check-in. I'm watching my MIL again. She's real confused again, and there is general weakness.

My Cuz is the head cook, and watch somebody else be bottlewasher.

I just stopped home for a quick break to pick up some fresh clothes and shower. Have to do that every few days you know.

Going back to work. Play nice.

Good morning all,

Sorry I haven't stopped in for a few days, but Dr. confined me to the recliner with my feet up so I got some crocheting done.

I am all better (I pray) and am having breakfast for supper. I'll bring some in this afternoon and keep it warm in the oven in case anyone else likes bacon, pancakes, eggs, and hash browns.

Y'all have a good day!

We woke up Sunday morning to no well water. The pump gave up the ghost. We managed to find a new pump in the city some 40 miles away. Now to find a plumber on Sunday! He came Monday morning at 10 and got the pump exchanged, but still no water by 2:pm. He said we would have to dig up the well opening, pull up the 72 feet of pipe and check for a leak or a defective footvalve........or worse, a dry well!

I won't give all the drama between the broken well pump and getting water, but I remembered an old trick my father taught many years ago, and it worked...we had water instantly after I followed those steps.

Praise God for the things we take for granted. Water, and fathers with practical knowledge.

Enjoy your day, and smile.

Cheers,

Jim

Ah the joys of well water! (not) Been there, done that and hope I'm done with that for good. :D

Good morning everyone!

Muffins and cinnamon rolls are on the counter.

Today will be chores that I didn't do yesterday because we went to the skatepark instead and sewing. We were supposed to go on a field trip to tour the Mercedes plant, but that got postponed until the end of November because our homeschooling group had so many who wanted to go. Then I was supposed to take a friend to the doc, but her husband decided to take her himself. Sooo, I have ended up with a day with no plan except to show up for sewing at church this pm. Can't beat that! I'm going to use the time to embroider Jenna a couple of T-shirts that she is in desperate need of.

Ya'll have good day!

Going back to work.

CORRECTION: I'm watching my MIL, NOT working. If I consider watching her work then I'm the wrong person to be there.

Good Afternoon Everybody,

Cuz: The Muffins sound good. I'll grab one with a Diet Mt. Dew. The only problem with me being one of your "blood" cousins is that they don't kid with you do they? Nawww, not them.

Sue: Glad to hear you're on the mend. Maybe if you just sit down and "think" about being on your feet all the time? Hard to do painting sitting down though, isn't it? Wouldn't bother me though, I always get more on me than on what I'm painting. I just call myself a "self-portrait."

I'm trying to figure out how to be down at my MILs and still do all the cooking for everybody. As long as they shuttle me the supplies I do the cooking and Brenda and Louise[our daughter] pickup the food.

I'm keeping the house down here, as well as cooking and watching my MIL, Pat. Yes ladies, I can do laundry, cleaning, cooking, sewing[NOT in Cindi's class, though], I even do windows. I'm sure I don't keep a house as well as you Ladies do, but then I'm an amateur not a "professional" either.

I made Smothered Chicken Sandwiches for the family[in all 3 places-home-MILs- and the CGCH]], Smashed Potatoes, and Apple-Caramel Sundae Tarts for dessert. for lunch; Dinner will be Chicken Pot Pies, "No Cream" Creamy Broccoli Soup, Parmesan Garlic Bread, and Warm Caramel Bananas for dessert.

Time to go back. I get away for about 90 minutes in a 24 hrs period. It's enough.

Always be nice to your children - They'll pick your Nursing Home.

Just a quick "swipe a muffin and run" post. We went to the allergist this morning for Joanna - skin test showed NO seafood allergies this year so they're going to do the "challenge test" - basically give her seafood to eat and see how she reacts. I'm waiting to see if we need to do that at the hospital or at the doctor's office (it takes HOURS to do - so I hope wherever we have to do it, she can be comfortable).

Not much else going on - just keeping busy. I'm off to do some more homeschooling and then get dinner ready. It's going to be breaded chicken cutlets, mashed potatoes, chicken gravy and peas. I'm taking my oldest out to a portfolio review seminar at the local art museum so that she can get some critiquing of her portfolio. Should be good for her!

Have a great day all!! Talk to you tomorrow!

Ann, what kind of skin test did the docs use? I understand that "patch" testing is better than the pinprick type skin tests for finding hard to determine allergies. Not all docs will do patch testing and not all insurances will pay. Patch testing can be expensive.

Yeah - they used the prick test for her. They had also done the blood test last year and that came up as negative. So the next step is the challenge. That will be pretty definitive, I'd guess. LOL!

Rob: Dinner sounds delicious! I'll just grab caramel bananas and a mountian dew to go.
Jim: I can also say been there done that and I don't want to do it again either. My well story was in the middle of winter!
I have alot to do tonight including cooking dinner for dad and myself. I am keeping it simple. Hamburgers, mashed potatoes, and some other veggie. Mom is watching one set of the grandkids. Their parents have a late night tonight so mom is going to make sure that they get to bed on time. Glad to see everyone had a good day. Time to go get started on the chores. Y'all have a good day tommorrow!

Evening all,

Well, all the border around the middle of the dining room is finally gone. Unfortunately, they put textured paint on after they put the border on, so you can still see where the border was.

I bought a sea sponge and did some sponging in two colors where the border was and it doesn't look too bad. I only got one wall done today. I'm hoping to finish the rest of the room tomorrow if my back ache goes away tonight. Grrrrrrrrrr. This getting old business is surely not fun!

If I don't get it finished tomorrow, there's always the next day, and the next, and the next........

Brent is going to Missouri for a two-day basketball tournament. He will be leaving early Thursday morning and coming home very late on Friday night. THAT will be my 'rest' time...no cooking, making lunches, doing dishes, sleep when I want, eat when I want, etc. All I have to do is deliver the papers those two days. Whoopeeeeeeeeee!

Past my bedtime.

Pleasant dreams all!

Good morning all! I was up early this morning to take my dad to the hospital to have a stent put in one of his arteries. Please pray for a good surgery and that he'll recover quickly.

Sooo, I was looking through my daughter's Flickr account last night and found this picture of my other daughter - my 15 year old. She's the one with the college guy interested in her. Wanna see why? http://www.flickr.com/photos/hugamuffin/1356634623/

Oy - DH better get that gun soon! LOL! She's just way too cute. ;)

AND, I took my oldest daughter to an art portfolio review night with some colleges last night and it looks like she's good - REALLY good - like she'll be able to get scholarships to top schools good!! Wow!! WHERE she got that art talent, I'll never know. LOL!! Here area few of her pieces (of course, these don't do them justice but just to give you an idea):

This is one that she printed out but then added some color/clarity with colored pencils. It's also going to go over DH's desk in his new office at church when it's completed:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/hugamuffin/526012480/in/set-72157600289004373/

This is a pencil piece that she did from a still-life. This is the drawing that was scholarship material:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/hugamuffin/477378630/in/set-72157600289004373/

This is a drawing that she had done - then went to take a break and the littles attacked it - thus there are wrinkles in it. She mounted it on cardboard and it's OK - the colleges who saw it last night were very impressed:

Lastly, this is a black and white photo she did. It was with various models from the art studio:

Well, I'm off to clean and homeschool. We also have Lauren's physical today and I realize that this is her last year with the pediatrician, I think! Yikes!! College, boys, driving - WHERE DID MY BABIES GO??????

Good Morning Everyone!

Ann, the links don't work to the pics of your daughter's art. The one to the pic of your 15 yr old works fine. I feel your pain. Somehow I wasn't expecting to lose my daughter to boys and driving quite this soon either. Sigh, Cass is taking the PSAT today. College can't be this close!!!!

Cleaning and sewing is top on the list this morning. Jenna is home with another stomach virus, but she is sounding quite a bit better at the moment so I may take her on in. I'm waffling cause I don't know just how sick she is. She gets awfully pale when she's been up too long.

Cereal and toast will have to hold ya'll for a while. I'll have Chicken and Dressing for supper by special request of Cade and Chris.

Ya'll have a good day.

Ann, MK, it goes so much faster than you can even imagine. Thirty four years ago this past Sunday I gave birth to a whopping nine pound five ounce son. THIRTY FOUR YEARS! He is way taller than me and teaches me things now and pats me on the head and....oh help....but we have stayed best friends through all the years and that is really, really special. And this past summer he married the most marvelous young lady!

I'll be sixty next year. But I'm still about 25 underneath. It's just that underneath means a LOT of extra layers now! Not so much in flesh as in years, experiences and sometimes even wisdom. So many people have passed into and out of my life. Sometimes I will remember a face and there is a sudden bit of shock with "OH, that's right!...."

So fast...

But today is a glorious, absolutely glorious day. Yesterday Barry finally went to the doctor because I was so concerned about his heart. We both knew he suffered from sleep apnea and there have been times I will wake up and realize he's not breathing and pat him and say, "Breathe, Barry!"

Deep breath..."Thanks, Sweetheart...." snore....

Barry listed his symptoms to the doctor and the diagnosis? The massive congestion he has had for months is not a 'bug' and not an allergy, but the sleep apnea. The horrid tiredness that has been plaguing him? From sleep apnea. It can even damage the heart, although his EKG was fine.

Dr. put him on prednisone. I thought that was a funny Rx for this problem but lo and behold Barry slept like a baby last night and almost no congestion at all. As a result, with less snoring and restlessness on his part, I slept like a baby, too. I am so grateful! He is still asleep as I type this, but he woke up with me for a bit about an hour ago and was cheerful and breathing clearly. It was wonderful!

I am so in love with this man! It was seven years ago my son, mentioned above, and I flew together to Australia where he would give me away to Barry in marriage and read the Scripture at our wedding. This year Barry officiated at his marriage.

This is a beautiful, beautiful day and the rain clouds have even cleared for a moment to give us some wonderful blue sky.

God bless you all!
