Goodness, it is quiet in here this morning. I think you all must be feeling as slow as I am feeling to get into the swing of things today. I thought I would be catching up on the chat in here. I hope you're all ok.

    God Bless

Good Morning All! That Bellsouth Accelerator that gave me problems yesterday prevented us from accessing the internet until just a short while ago. We uninstalled it and then couldn't get onto the internet again. It had changed all our proxy setting! Ug... It's gone now, thanks to their tech support!

Just about to leave for church. Nick is so excited. He's going to tell his (large) Sunday School class about accepting Christ and then go forward during our altar call time. He's all dressed up and anxious to go and share his good news.

So, Super Bowl tonight! We'll have very hot Buffalo Wings (no vinegar or butter to kill the heat here!) and some other things for snacks. YUM!

We've got the Alka-Seltzer ready too!

Have a wonderful day and talk to you all later!

I hate football! But I thought it was a good excuse to have the children and their families over. It didn't work out well for them all, but at least three of the grandchildren are coming!! We will have mainly jalepino-cheese poppers, barbecue chicken wings, and those mini quiche.

Boy Howdy this Super Bowl Sunday to all. Sorry to have turned in so early and missed Roger and Sheila getting up and noting how quiet things were.

No request to preach today, so will be off to my home church for the first time in 2004 (and it's February!) and say "Hey". Just got a formal letter for the church, renewing mission support for another year.

They have supported us faithfully since 1988, but don't think they got "their money's worth" this past year! But gracious folks nonetheless.

And since I did funerals on Friday and Saturday and had to be briefly "dressed up" for them, I have my suit and shirt et al hanging on the back of the bedroom door and ready.

Will stop back by as game time approaches and I settle in. Not going anywhere to "party".

And evidently, said Bob FIVE HOURS LATER, nobody ELSE is hanging around the Coffee House on Super Bowl Sunday, either!

Good night all enjoy your game, as long as the commercials last it will still be going on when I get up.

Sheila, think England in the final of the World Cup for an idea of what it is like over there tonite.

Cool! I was just checking in to see if anybody was up today!!! Is this place ALWAYS so deserted on a Sunday afternoon?

Sheila...this is not just "A" ball game! It's the Super Bowl...granddaddy of all football games...the climax of 5 months of guys beating themselves up trying to get a little oblong ball across a little white line!!

And usually, by the time the two winning teams get to this point, they're so tired and beat up, it's not a very exciting game!! :D

So, what are you doing this afternoon? Had a GREAT morning at church! I really enjoy being there and worshipping with other believers! Just "fills me up" to keep me going through the week!

Well we didn't get out of church until 1:00 and then had a nice lunch. I took a LONG nap. YAWN!

Wow, I hope Sue's family was able to miss that snow!

Sheila! I don't watch the game! I'm not a football fan but I love Hot Wings. LOL (Buffalo Wings)

Dr. Bob, That's so neat about the support! Every Sunday I think how much Dr. George Barnett looks like you but no bow tie. He's telling me after service today how he's a Harley Man! His wife rides with him but doesn't have her own bike.

You mean one doesn't have to look far to find a parking space and there are no queues to pay for things in shops?

Even bigger than World Cup. Single biggest sporting event in the sense of TV.

Million dollar commercials that are in a class for themselves. Usually a great game with unbelievable hoopla.

More "parties" and activities than New Year's Eve and Halloweeen combined. Watching a game WITH folks is much more fun than watching it alone.

Since most churches in USA do NOT have a pm service, it is no conflict. Some that do will adjust time or have special activities. Others will feeling smuggly spiritually superior for "suffering for Jesus" and going to church instead of watching the game.

Me? I'm home, wife will be at the mall, and just going to enjoy.

Shoot Girl! I sink like a little rock! No body fat to keep me afloat! LOL

The home school group has a mom who is friends through her church with a certified instructor with a heated pool in a building that has a play room for siblings, showers, etc. and she offered to teach our children for only $50. for 10 weeks/ 2 lessons a week. Since I'm terrified of water, I thought it would be good to get Nick in the water as early as possible.

Nick asked his Sunday School teacher if he could say something to his (large) class this morning and he told the children about asking Jesus into his heart. He went forward this morning and so did 2 boys in his class! One mother said her son, who lives in Ala. with his birth father, was writing a 'prayer request' and a need for salvation on the tear off card on our bulletin. She saw it and asked him did he want to go talk with a counselor! The other boy told his step mother, who is a new Christian, that he'd been wanting to talk to someone because of the verses he's learning in AWANA. We had 2 adults, 3 children for salvation and one lady move her membership. Had a lot of people on their knees at the altar too! It was a good service on prayer and the holiness of God.

Wow...Diane! That is AWESOME! (The part about the people who went forward today...not the part about you sinking like a rock!! [IMG] )

We had a great service this morning also; however I don't think we had that many decisions, although we might have. We have 3 worship services, so I don't know who all joined at the two I don't attend. Will find out tomorrow, though.

So, for those of you who ARE watching the Super Bowl, are you for the Cats or the Pats?
