Panthers to upset Boston, if there is any justice in the world!

And waiting for the REAL competition - who has the best commercial! [IMG]

Total defensive game so far...I had heard it might be like this!

If I were a betting woman, I would like to place a bet on whether or not John Fox can keep his gum in his mouth the whole game!!! [IMG] [IMG]

(I tend to notice the "little things"!!) [IMG]

Is the super bowl on in Ireland and England and Australia? With the time differential, can't think it would be nearly such a big deal.

(Really poor game thus far. And the commercials have not been top drawer, either)

    Saw that commercial, Diane...really irritating.

A lot of the commercials are for beer, so I really don't care if I see them or not.

So far, it's a pretty boring game. :( I like to see a lot of touchdowns...or at LEAST some good runs! [IMG]

Guess I could ALWAYS iron while I watch the game. Come to think of it, that might be more exciting!! :D

I'm making snacks for my guys but have been around enough to see several really bad commercials. That one with all the children with soap in their mouth and then the ending where the little boy says 'Holy $h..' over a car might be the worst! Where's DFACS? Can you wash your child's mouth out with soap anymore? I never used that route and had it done to me ONCE when I repeated a word my Grandmother Weldy used. A school teacher punished me.

And if one thought the commercials were far below par (and more vulgar) than usual, look at the half-time "concert".

I thought Aerosmith was bad in the pregame, but this is really vile. One wonders about hope for America when THIS filth is the typical entertainment genre.

Think I might post on the music thread. All the defenders of the hellish rock-and-roll or the pagan country-western can TRY to defend this load of refuse.

Dr. Bob, Jim doesn't hear well and I told him what some of the lyrics said... just before the guys wearing corsets came on. He'll be writing protests letters all night. Obscene!

Just called the wife in. We have the sound off (I am supposed to be working on letters to doctors for her that need to be mailed tomorrow) but the sexual gyrations and filth were awful.

She said the same thing. WRITE to the powers that be and say how "blessed" we were with some of the pregame tribute to NASA and the national anthem and how "disgusted" we were with this.

Game can't get started soon enough for me.

Had the halftime on, but turned the sound down...can't stand that screaming. But I glanced at it occasionally and couldn't believe it. I thought the same thing Dr. Bob did...this is the Super Bowl, for crying out loud...and THIS is what America watches? No WONDER we're morally bankrupt.

I guess I didn't see what you were referring to, Diane...but sounds like I'm glad.

    :( :( :(

So who are the "powers that be" for this production?

I thought the pregame tribute to NASA was very moving...made me cry. They had some stuff on this afternoon about the astronauts that were killed. One of the films was their families talking about them, and lots of family pictures. It was VERY good.

The National Anthem was pretty good also...considering how MOST of the time, the singers totally destroy it! [IMG]

At least the game got a little more exciting in the last 3 minutes before halftime!! :D

C.J., at the end of the final song, the man who had danced VERY sexually with Janet Jackson ripped half her shirt off and exposed one breast.
It was Justin Timberlake and our son in law said the radio station had been told to 'expect a surprise ending'.

Glad I missed it. But I see from the link Dr. Bob gave, this is sponsored by MTV and AOL. Guess we shouldn't have expected much.

I remember years ago, the Super Bowl halftime was great entertainment and something to look forward to. My how times have changed.

Well, I need to leave this lovely group...need to put clothes in the dryer and do some other little piddly junk to get ready for the week!

By the way, Diane...when does Jim start his job? Tomorrow?

I just noticed it's raining really hard here! I kept hearing a "rumbling"...and it was thunder! Had NO idea we were to get this! I must live in a fog! [IMG]

Apparently he doesn't care. I'd be ashamed if I were Colin Powell!
