It's POURING Debby! Lots of folks without power too. Street lights are out. Highways are slick.

Check the radar!

Schools are closed and closing too. I haven't heard anything HERE yet but the rain is coming down pretty hard and hasn't let up.

Blackbird just checked out the "Live" Doppler radar in Atlanta--via Diane's link----and has determined he can land a jumbo jet right slap in the middle of it over at Hartsfield!!

Well thank the Lord, it was JUST a bad battery and Jim's home safe and sound. Our son didn't have to go out and rescue him even. Jim's nice boss got jumper cables and Jim drove all the way to our Wal-Mart locally to have it replace. I should add tho that he called our Saturn Dealer who went over some things with him and they felt sure it was just his battery. They came out and towed my other car in once, pumped out the gas, removed water from the tank and then said ... NO CHARGE... even tho it was 1/3 water from a problem with a local gas station.
Can't beat that for customer service!

I am so Glad that Jim is home safe and sound. And that Doppler image looks ew. Blackbird has some guts to even think of landing a plane in that.

I have my cable up and I have now fired my phone company. For some reason my backspace key dosen't seem to be working  I'm going to have to learn how not to use it

Well I've been out and picked up all my kids. The weather has given me a pounding headache! We've gotten over 3 inches of rain already with 36 mph winds still and the rain comes and goes in sheets!

The grass is sure green tho.

Boy is it raining! I'm glad we're on Mt. Arafat here. LOL. No arks yet, Debby!

Liver and Onions for supper and Nick is thrilled. Asparagus too. YUM!

I sure hope it's a more quiet night. I woke up several times because of the pounding rain and the wind slamming doors. When the electric goes off and comes back on, our door bell chimes... and it's a LONG chime.

Sounds good to me too!

We had Cabbage Dump and a luncheon salad for supper.

Brent loved his first day at school. We delivered the papers after I got done at the corner.

Please remember me in prayer tomorrow. My appointment with the surgeon is at 10:15...

Sue isn't that CST? I want to make sure we're praying right on time... even tho it doesn't matter with God!

One of my Cubbie helpers called and her daughter has Coxsackie Virus (hand, foot, mouth) so they won't be coming tomorrow night. Thankfully, she always gives me notice. She has 2 children in our classes....

Well boys and girls, Jim got in about 1 ish today and he watched Nick and Ty while I went to get Max and then watched the three boys while I went to get Morgan so we're beat and heading to bed! I'm feeling MUCH better now after getting the meds for the ear infections.

Oh.... the rain has stopped for the minute but is to continue softly the rest of the night. Should be peaceful sleeping! Night all.

We had a good and full day. The girls and I splashed around in their little pool. I taught piano lessons from 2-7, then we had nachos for supper. They were so good! Hubby came home 10 minutes before having to leave to go to an associational Brotherhood meeting. So I am letting the girls stay up late tonight so they can see him when he gets home.

Well, I'm outta here for the night. Gotta run see if I won the ebay auction for low carb taco shells. Tata...

Hi all.

I decided to work on my offensiveness. Roasted a whole bulb of garlic, then it smelled so good I broke off a few cloves and ate them.
I STINK!
I'm thinking it was perhaps a type of divine intervention though. I'm trying to be good and keep a relatively decent diet to lower my cholesterol, but have REALLY went off of it the last few days, and especially today as I clogged my arteries with fried fish, french fries, hush puppies, and fried clams, washing it down with cherry cola. I haven't had deep fried stuff or caffeine in so long I didn't know if I was gonna walk out of there alive!

Good morning all:

It is a cool 54º here this morning with "plentiful" sunshine today, heading for a cool high of 74º! Is it Fall yet?

Sue isn't that CST?
Yes, Diane . I believe you're an hour ahead of us and THANK YOU! I didn't sleep well , or much , last night and my eyes are burning this morning. I will be glad when this is over (praying hard for a good report...).

I am going to take Brent to school, go to my corner, then come home and take my shower before I see the surgeon.

Here is a picture of Brent yesterday on his first day in 5th grade and first day in a Christian school - and a 'kinda' fake smile...
