COMMON GROUND COFFEE HOUSE #65

Cheryl left me this morning for the mall and some last minute shopping. She got back before anyone woke up. She said WMart was packed, but the mall was dead. If I was going to go anywhere, WMart would not be it.

Wow Gib! We drove past the mall on the way home from Jim's company party yesterday about 5:00 and the parking lot was filled with people parking along the street too! Glad we don't need to go there.

Jon should be here soon. Still don't know if my mother is coming. Jim loves to shop and he's gone to Wal-Mart to buy me some things with a cash gift I got from a friend.
My turtlenecks are 10- 20 years old and I had cut off the cuffs and hemmed some of them. Other's are so thin. He got really upset when he was helping me fold clothes and saw what I had repaired.

The animal shelter is closed until Monday so we'll go pick up our new cat then. I've chosen her off the internet. I've been looking at her since right after Dubbs died but hadn't asked if I could have her. Jim never tells me 'no' to anything I want but I try not to ask for anything. He saw me looking at her again yesterday and just told me to go get her.

We're trying to come up with a name. They've called her Pandora but we don't like that. We've only come up with Checkers so far.

Anyone have a name?

She looks like "Patches" or "Pinky" to me.

Have my trays all fixed for dinner. Now, I am going to jump in the shower and get ME ready!

Hmmmm... I like Chrissy. We have a number of Ashely's at church. I thought of Patsy. Don't know why tho. It's Jim's bosses wife's name tho!

Isn't she beautiful Granny? They'll put her to sleep if we don't get her soon. Carroll County put 7,480 animals to sleep in 2003. :(

Hey - Merry Christmas everyone!! We are about to go out and about. I know this is totally idiotic, but we actually LIKe going to Wal-Mart Christmas eve to see all the men in camoflouge scurrying thru the store buying small appliances (bad idea) for the wife. Its really funny to watch. I told DH I ought to set up a booth and charge 5 bucks to go buy theses guys' wives something they'd like.

Then we are going to see the lights around town. I Love Christmas eve. Tonight we'll bake and decorate our Happy Birthday Jesus cake that we eat for breakefast Christmas morning.
Headin' out to Wal- Mart...

Well, I am all shopped out. I am now completely exhausted and still have mince pies to make and a cake to ice.

Diane,

Your new cat looks such a cutey.
Have you chosen a name for her yet? Can I suggest Panda or as its Christmas, which is a lovely time to find a new home, call her Merry? I showed your pic to Mariel and she thinks she looks adorable and is trying to think of a name also.

Well, coffee time here. I will look in later,

Blessings

Sheila

Yes, she is very pretty! I like Patsy too...sometimes folks call me by that name, or Patty. I'd tho't of Pinky & Panda too, or Pansy.

I'm almost ashamed to post my little, bare, fiberoptic tree after the beautiful ones that have been posted - but it's all we have this year. Next year (since Brent is with us now) we will have a large green one to decorate.

The small stable (for the Nativity set) sitting to the right of the tree is one that my father made from tree branches etc., over 60 years ago.

The large centerpiece for this village is plaster and I painted it many years ago. I just, this year, added some more buildings to it.

And this is our dinner today. Several of you will recognize the candy and cookies on the 'goodie' tray. ;)

I'm ready for my family to start arriving!!!

We have 3 trees Sue. One is only 5 foot tall so it's on a short table in Nick's room. You can buy some really great trees for almost nothing now. I bought the white one in our rec room after Christmas 10 years ago for 75% off and put it up for a New Years Eve party we were having. It's all lights and glass balls this year. Nick's tree is all tiny colored lights and ornaments he's made over the years. Very cute and child like. I have some kind of decoration in every room of our house. It's a chore to decorate and take back down but I sure enjoy it while it's up. I won't take it down until mid to late Jan. Everything is up for almost 2 full months.

I figured it out. Here's our tree. I woke Piper up and she's not happy with me.

GIB! Is that a CAT perched on the sofa above Piper? Have you been holding out on us my friend?

That's a lovely tree and I love the woodwork around your archway. Did your father make it?
