That's great news Bro. David! Congrats on the new little girl!

Thanks Tony. I feel like it'll be all good reports. I sort of half expect a call back because of the old films being 10 years old but don't know if I can handle that emotionally so am praying not!

I've been doing fliers for our Cubbies, end of the year info. I ran out of legal sized envelopes so I'll have to finish after I get to the Dollar Store tomorrow.

Diane - I hope everything goes as well as it sounds. It's all so nervewracking, I know. But it sounds like you are doing just fine.

Yes, thank you for asking. My folks took him back to the doctor for his first week's check up today and the doctor was pleased with how he was doing.

One funny note....The doctor gave him this huge teddy bear that you hold against your stomach if you have to sneeze or cough after surgery. It's something that he gives all of his adult patients and it comes with a booklet on how to hold the bear against you depending on where on your body you are cut open. It's a great pain reliever and keeps you from bursting open anything that has stitches.

Well...I didn't know what the bear was for when I went to my folk's house to check on him that first night.

My brother was in bed asleep and I saw the bear on the couch in the living room.

I thought someone had sent a "teddy bear" to him because he is mentally handicapped. And because he is mentally handicapped, I can't STAND it when people treat him like a baby.

So, I ranted and raved and pitched myself a nice little hissy-fight right in the middle of my mother's living room!

After I calmed down, my mother said, "Are you finished?" My dad then proceed to hand me the bear and the booklet and neither one of them said a word. They should have thrown me out of their house!

Boy, did I ever feel S-T-U-P-I-D!!

Peace-

Scarlett - A teddy bear! When I had my gall bladder and pancreas surgery a long while ago, a nurse in the ICU gave me a wad of those disposable bed pads wraped with the paper tape they use in the hospital. Because it was near Thanksgiving, he drew a turkey on it with a marker. That's what I had to press against my stapled incision that went from the breastbone to the navel. I guess it worked OK, but a teddy bear would have been great! Tell you brother he's special to get one!

And David - glad to hear the little darlin' finally arrived! God bless you all.

HEY! I've been up since 6:45! My hubby had to work today too!

I've done a few loads of clothes and have Jim's pants and shirts startched and ready to iron. I did a little cleaning and took Nick to the local consignment shop to get some size 12 jeans and turn in some size 10's he cannot get on anymore. We went to the barber but his sister's filling in while he's away. We let her cut Nick's hair ONCE. ONLY ONCE! We stopped by Wendy's for lunch since we had coupons for free meals. I just cut Nick's hair with the Flo-bee and scissors. I can't cut it as short as the barber but it looks even nicer, I think.

It's warm but VERY windy here. Nick went out to fly his kite but it's blowing so hard that sand and little rocks kept pelting him in the face.

I forgot to stop and get envelopes so I could finish the end of the year fliers for our Cubbie/ AWANA class. As long as I get them mailed in the next week or so...

TTYL,
Diane

Well, I am going to have to go to town, it looks like. I cannot find one stupid light bulb in this whole house.

My bathroom and my den both need light bulbs and I could have sworn I had some. That always makes me so mad. I guess I had better go through the house and make a list before I head off for town or else I'll get back and remember something else.

I'll have to come back and finish cleaning the house. I hate do this on Saturdays, but it is my only spare time to get any real cleaning done.

Granny, I've got to go to town. I heard Diane mention that she and her son went to Wendy's today, so I'll probably stop there and get their chicken strip salad. I promise you, it's the best salad in the whole world. Meet me there if you want to.

Scarlett, do you and Granny really live in the same area? That would be neat!

Julia (Keeperathome) and I live about 20 miles from each other but we've not met in person or talked on the phone. A new member, Butch Mobley, is a member at our church and his wife works with me in AWANA and last year in VBS. The 'committee job' I'd been asked to do and refused this past week.... I recommended Butch and he accepted. Charlie Parker, another member here, lives in town. He's a street preacher over by McDonald's but I've not ever met him in person. There's a few other members from adjoining towns, too.

We both live in northern Louisiana, I believe. But I have heard Granny mention her hometown and we are pretty far apart.

It would be nice to actually meet people you talk with and their families. It's nice to have a place like BB where you feel relatively safe in fellowshipping with people.

I am really paranoid, however, about telling specifics about myself, on the net, even to people who are trustworthy. You may trust who you are talking to but you don't ever know who ALL is reading what you say about yourself. I don't tell my real name or where I live. It's just a single woman "thing". We are all a little nuts.

But, it will be VERY nice to see each other when we are with Christ someday. THAT will be a great fellowship.
