I'm hoping so, Gib. If they don't they're going to have one hard to handle patient on their hands...not by my choice, just from my own natural reaction (I guess you'd call it fight or flight...). They're supposed to call and discuss all this with me. I hope they do.

Uh...my bum is already partially numb...that's one reason for the myelogram! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Morning all:

I can't sleep, so I figured I might as well be posting. Don't know if nausea is one of the side effects of my pain killers, but it sure seems that way. I don't like it one bit.

Viv's still in bed sleeping. Thank the Lord the office is on the other end of the house and there is a bathroom on this end, too. WebMd says that nausea and some of the other side effects I'm experiencing are normal and should pass....let's hope they do, and soon.

Not much else going on here. My sister, who's had several myelogram's done tried to talk me out of having this one done. I'm still not sure I'm going to have this one done. Outside of the doctors wanting a contrasting view, I don't see the need.
If he can't operate, or is already hesitant, doesn't it seem sort of funny to want to run this sort of a test?

Anyhow, this is just the rambling of a tired mind. Sorry. I'll finish my cola and try to get some rest on the sofa.

    Good morning all:

Sorry you didn't sleep well, Tony.

Another hot, humid day here and no relief in sight the rest of the week. It's still better than SNOW though!

Brent had fun going on the rides at the fair last night with his Mom and sisters. His Great Grandpa had given him $20.00, so that's what he spent.

    Morning all!

Sorry Tony to hear that you can't sleep. Sometimes the cure is worse than the cause. I'll pray you get some relief. Are you on a "pain patch"? I have a friend(yes I have lots of friends) that was in a severe car wreck a few years ago, that severely damaged(think crushed and worse) one of her legs. She uses a patch and has for a while, so when they all of a sudden started making her very nausuas she got concerned, but couldn't figure it out. Took her a couple of weeks before she realized that the pharmacy had given her a patch that was twice her normal dosage! So you might want to check with your doc about what strength he gave you and what strength you actually got. If you have the correct meds, he might want to simply lower your dosage. My friend was sick at night too.

Sue anything is better than SNOW! I don't like the cold, can you tell?

I woke up sneezing my head off this morning! I've finally stopped but have no clue just what started it. I don't have a cold and didn't think I had any allergies going on right now. What we have right now is yet another stomach bug! This one has been mostly mild, but doggone, I'm tired of 'em already. We've had the stomach ache, diahrea, the throw ups, and then had 'em all again, this summer. This one is the stomach ache and not much else, but the worst is the whiny kids because their stomach's ache. Son especially is suffering. He's just laying around not doing much. I worry about him when he acts like that. He is usually very active.

Gotta sew today, see ya later!

MK...was on the lidoderm patches for a few weeks. They really didn't seem to offer much relief. But, with the amount of pain I've been in, it would have been hard to tell. I stopped using them when we got back from GA last month. I've got four or five left, and may actually have to use them. Tomorrow I can't take some of my meds because of that stupid myelogram/spinal tap Friday. I can't eat anything before the test, and I have to be in Nashville, an hour away at 7am, though my 'check in' time isn't until 7:30. No coffee...just water. Isn't this going to be fun?

I was reading some of the side effects, and one of them is arachnoiditis, where all of the nerves in the area where they insert the needle grow together into a ball instead of straight down the spinal column. My sister had an oil based myelogram twelve years ago, and she has this. Also, MS has been a side effect. She has that. I'm beginning to not be sure of these doctors. Some of the risks far outweight the benefits in my opinion. Also, a spinal leak is not an uncommon occurance afterward (my sister also had one of these, and it nearly killed her), and I asked the doctor about it. He was pretty quiet. Granted, he is an older doctor with a pretty good record, and no record that we know of of malpractice claims, but, it's still hard to put that much trust in someone.

mk, praying also for you sneezing! Hope it's NOT a stomach bug, either! Will be praying for the rest of ya'll, too.

Good morning (well, almost 11 am and fINALLY getting around here) and boy howdy to all.

Been doing remarkably better in the past months with the new pain killer, but my oh my last night was a toughie. I was up a dozen times and could not get good sleep.

And hard to be upbeat (I have this morning set aside for more sermon prep, then the afternoon for sales tax et al at the wife's clinic) when you are tired and hurting.

So rather than spew negativity, be thankful I am NOT on the BB today!! But to say I am praying for those with needs. And those, like us, in the drought. We are in year 5 and it has killed all dry land farming. Only ones surviving have irrigation.

    HAve a great day, y'all.

Now how you girls can be against snow is beyond me. Just think, no bugs, dust, snakes, or overheating! Here's some of that nitrogen rich solid rain for you.

Padre---from every so often to every so often---we do occasionally get snow down here in "Dixie"---the last snow I've been a part of was in '93---Talladega, Alabama---March 3---18 inches of snow fell in less than 24 hours-----

The next day---the sun came out---and in less than 10 hours---the 18 inches was G-O-N-E!!!!!!

Padre: I shivered just looking at that picture!

blackbird: When we get snow (and we do every year), it hangs around all winter!

    I work outside - don't like SNOW!

[IMG] I love snow, winter and that great rich soil. I also love being in an area where Baptists are the VAST majority. If I won the lottery (you can't win tho, if you don't buy a ticket), I'd buy me about 50 acres somewhere in VA. or roundabouts where I could have it all!

Our mosquitoes are as big as Volkswagons and are the Asian Tiger mosquitoes that hide in the leaves or grass at night and bite during the day. Nick went out to walk the dog yesterday afternoon in long jeans, high socks and a windbreaker over his shirt and got bit on his leg and both arms. I've got bites on my ears, hands, arms, legs, top of my feet, elbow... thankfully, I just itch with no real spots.

We had a lousy day but I MUST praise the Lord. First, I kept the 3 children only from 9:30 til 10:50 so mom could get a massage to help with her migraines. As soon as they left, Nick and I got directions and headed out to the Scholastic Warehouse all alone. No one bothered to tell me there is an OLD hwy 41 and that the other 41 makes a giant U. I missed the FIRST turn because it came much sooner than I was told it would and ended up going 40 miles round trip out of my way, getting lost and finally arriving 3 hours after leaving home for a 47 mile trip to find the warehouse only was offering a FEW items. They were all $1.00 to $5.00 and I picked some things up Ty's mother wanted for him for Christmas. I got her $60. worth of computer games for $7.50~~ Nick got 5 books and a 'Spy Packet'. I also got a Franklin VHS for Valentines for the granddaughters. All in all, $21.00 for all of us but $10. in wasted gas. HOWEVER, I got so lost I cried and almost caused a wreck when trying to merge with a guy in my blind spot. He cussed at me and made an ugly motion. I pulled over at Jim's work office, called hubby who was in another county and he 'led me' back to where I knew my way on our cell phones. I've NEVER gone into those big areas around Atlanta alone and the traffic was horrid! So... 129 miles later.... we're home safe!

Scooter is just learning SO well! I walked him right before bed and again when Jim's clock went off at 5:30 and he was 'dry' all night! Nick's teaching him 'Come', 'Sit', 'Fetch' and 'Release' with small pieces of cheese. We also had bought a puppy pool and after he's walked, he will go crazy in the giant sand box Jim had built so when it's time to come back inside, he goes to the pool and I lift him in and wash him off before we come inside. I think he's tripled his size in 2 1/2 weeks.

Patches doesn't seem to mind him, as long as he doesn't try to touch noses. She'll slap his face and hiss if he does. I put their food down at the same time and he gobbles his down. She's such a lady and eats very slowly. He'll stay way away but when she's finished, he rushes over and cleans her plate.

Well I have no children tomorrow and Nick's books from BJU will be here first thing a.m. PERFECT timing! Now I need to take photos and list all his 4th grade things on Ebay. I even found one 3rd grade book that didn't sell last year.

Friday I'll have the 3 children but not Ty. He's been off all week (I do still get paid tho) and won't be back until late Monday morning. I do like sleeping in! This 5:30 childcare is hard on us more mature girls! ;)

See, I don't need a blog~ Other than telling you about ironing or my thoughts for our horrible backyard, I've just about told you everything that happened today. I lead such an exciting life!

Don't want to say we were "hit" again, but another storm caught us. On Monday July 25 we had 2.4 inches of rain and driving wind. Tonight we had MORE rain in 45 minutes and it flooded our lawn, our garages, I was knee-deep in swirling water working on drains, etc

Wife was not happy. Lot of lightning and then I have no feeling in my legs so balance was a game. Know these are TOO BIG and will erase them after folks have seen.

All that rain and it probably won't help the farmers a bit. Drop that temperature down to about 30 degrees and you could tell us about the 50" of new snow!

Wish I was closer. I'd stop by and muck out that garage for you.

Son just came by and used the snow shovel to move mud from the driveway. Looked like the Mississippi delta - and trust me, we were looking for an Ark not a steamboat . . .

Sorry to hear about the flooding Dr. Bob, but glad to know your area has gotten SOME rain. It's been dry as a bone where my mom lives in Illinois (not too far from Sue), and then here, well...it's just been dry....our crop was burned up when we came back from the funeral last month. Some of the tomato plants lived, and some jalapeno's, but that's it.

Be careful...with your having no feeling, it's dangerous to do what you did. I'm beginning to know that myself.

    Morning all:

It got to 98 here yesterday with a heat index of 105. I didn't go out but once, and that was enough. The pollen counts were very high, and the conditions are expected to be the same today.

I believe the new neighbors have started to move some things in. We saw some cars there last night for a few hours, but we couldn't get over to meet the people.

I know this isn't the prayer forum, but I need to ask your prayer for our church. There has arisen a crises concerning who can and who cannot become members, and under what conditions. Let's just say that some in the church are wanting to allow people from some other denominations, if they have been saved, and baptized by immersion, to be considered for membership without being re-baptized. The vote is this Sunday evening. Our pastor is for this, as is the assistant. Many of the others feel it would make our church "interdenominational" or Non-denom, and they don't want that. Please pray God will give the people some wisdom and guidance on this, and any differences will be settled peacefully. We do appreciate it and thank you in advance.

God is good in all He does. This is the day that the Lord hath made! We will rejoice and be GLAD in it! Amen?

    Good morning all:

It has started to sprinkle. I wish we could get a nice gentle rain that would last all day! It is still going to be 91º so I won't be able to shut the A/C down and open the windows. It should start cooling off, to the mid 80s tomorrow, for the next few days.

I have already put out four buckets on the sun porch to catch the leaks. Hopefully, the roof will get fixed next week end.

I have some house cleaning that needs done today, so that's what I'll be doing...

Well, grandkids called and it is time to get school supplies and the Ipod isn't working so will have to take that back. So I will be busy all day. I wanted to wait until tomorrow when it may be cooler, but they have something else planned tomorrow. I was just going over to their town to get school supplies, but will have to bring them over here to exchange the Ipod. Lots of driving.

Catch you all later. Hope you have a good day!

OK. Call me 'behind the times' and 'technology challenged'; but what is an Ipod?

You and me are together on the housecleaning Sue! How I hate it! It seems like I no more get the house cleaned till I have to go right back and do it again!(mini rant of the day)

I have some sewing to do first. Another set of karate uniforms. I got the embroidery done(I hope) last night so know I just need to add the patches. My dyslexia is getting the better of me here lately and I've had to go back and fix 2 spelling mistakes.  I don't like making mistakes even if they are easy to fix. I'm going to check these one more time this morning before I put the patches on.

Somewhere in all this I have to find my glasses. I lost them last night and couldn't find them when I needed them. I can't see close up with the stupid things and can't see far off without them. It really is time for a new pair, but that would mean a new eye doctor, yada, yada, yada and I don't want to! I know I took this pair off while I was sewing last night, so they must be underneath something.

I'll be around some today. I have a kink in my back that wants to be a full blown pulled muscle, so I'm going to take things easy and sit a lot. The pools warm so I may try a swim later on to try to work out the kink.

    Ya'll have a good morning.

Oh, Dr. Bob, I just can't imagine why your wife would make a fuss about you playing in the mud.  Sorry about the damage though.
